These men have so much class. This is what REAL music was like when I was growing up in Harlem, New York in the 70's. And Stuart still looks fine as hell! Much love guys, I love your music then and now!
Who's still listening to this song, January 26, 2020? The guy singing was NOT the lead singer of this song back in the 70's. He has a nice huge Afro. This takes me back to the early 70's as a teenager. High School Class of 1973; RIP fellow deceased classmates.
Great performance. Nice to see Stu step in and handle the vocals so well!! He really sounds great! One of my all time favorite groups!! Keep holding it down!!
I remember Leroy originally sung lead on THIS and Most of their songs ... shoot - he wrote & arranged mostly All their songs. He was little puny back then but he's full grown now 😂. Back then, Russell's strong mellow baritone and Stu's strong mellow tenor, both singing pitch - Beautiful background harmony. Stu is now singing lead on this song and does a good job. I love these brothers.....so glad to see them still sounding good and still together. That's unique in the industry.
@Atom09. They are the original members. Leroy Burgess on the right (He was lead tenor and sang lead on the recording), Stuart Bascombe in the middle (He is singing the tenor lead now.) and Russell Patterson who sang lead on a few of their cuts including their 1979 hit "Mainline". All three are lead singers, however Leroy Burgess voice was lead on the cuts that got them out there.
Thank you. I was really confused because I came across an old video and saw the brother on the right singing lead. By any chance do you know why Leroy doesn’t sing the lead anymore?
@@wordofmouth4life Leroy, left the group in 1977 to go solo and produce other artists. Stuart took over the lead and when the group reunited in 1995, it was agreed that he would continue.
The host finally gave Russell some dap, he was left out, ha! Much love to these brothers, they sound wonderful and glad they are still bringing it strong.
They still look amazing....gorgeous in fact; the sound is still pure, untouched...lyrics timeless..I wouldn't have anything negative to say about such a legendary group as this. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for clearing that up, because I knew Leroy had the falsetto. Had no idea Stu could handle that pitch. He did a nice job. It was a pleasant surprise to see Leroy again.
Yeah thats what I see some cat above us is saying Leroy the blad head dude on the right side of the screen who is the former lead singer,is looking awkward moving around. I think they sound and look good and he put on about 50 pounds and he is still moving good I'm impressed.
Leroy had throat surgery...can no longer hit the high notes he use too...Stu does a good job...but Leroy was the man back then...Stu sometimes struggles with the high notes ...but holds it down the best he can...
elegantz1 I am so glad that they are still able to eat ! ( Make Money ) Stuart Bascomb on lead is phenominal because of him they are still marketable ! Good luck guy's and thank you for sticking together !
I DONT KNOW HOW CLOSE YOU ARE TO WASHINGTON, DC. BUT THEY WILL BE PERFORMING ON JUNE 30 @ CATER BARRON IN ROCK CREEK PARK. I AM SO EXCITED. THEY ARE SO UNDER RATED.
I always knew Stuart had a good falsetto, but this is excellent. Leroy the one on the right sang this lead originally, but he was just coming off being sick.
Did you realize that the one signing lead now was not the original lead singer. Larry Burgess was the lead singer and stopped singing lead for medical reasons.
@DeeNice681 Agree . leroy's voice is good too , but different . Just great to see them back together , healthy (know leroy had some drug issues years back ) and dancing good too !
