Can I ask, is the Extreme ISO any good for live production? Like a church event? Cause I'm worried about the sound, I prefer XLR more than the TRS, will my sound not be compromised?
@@zak0937 Thanks! I finally did buy the SDI Extreme. Amazing machine. Have it mounted in a 3ru fly pack along with a Blackmagic Hyperdeck mini, Web Presenter and Multiview4.
Do the AUX outs embed the program audio onto the feed? I'd be a very happy man if I could have two ISO feeds with my embedded program audio on Output 1 & 2
Most of the larger projectors have SDI inputs. Our monitors have SDI inputs as well. I do wish that the multi view out was HDMI that would help quite a few people as well. The big advantage of SDI is the length you can run without converters or boosters.
Hdmi can be good for short runs. Large shows with bigger projection often are located further from the tech table, thus sdi being better suited for the long signal run.
HDMI is a horrible connection very finicky most devices need handshakes most cables don't work reliably you just convert the SDI back to HDMI right at your source with a mini converter SDI workflow is beautiful and you can make your own cables very easily anyone can do it just by watching one or two RU-vid videos about it
For cameras SDI is a no brainer. But I wish they would of given the option of at least 1-2 HDMI input and one HDMI output for multi view. Now we have to rely on SDI converters for those devices that don’t have them.
There are only two things I'm bummed out about in regards to inputs/outputs: No XLR input and no HDMI output for multiview. Other than that this looks amazing.
What is the noise level of this switcher? I switch and mix audio in a silent environment...I assume this has fans (though my old ATEM TV Studio from 2009 is silent), but are they loud?
