I’m confused as to why it’s only black men that missed my whole point when I reiterated it several times. From what I’ve seen, there are white people, black women, and very few black men who understand what I clearly stated. I said that it is absolutely okay to date who you want if it is based off of love. If you are trying to wash away your race or fetishize another, that’s when it’s wrong. I don’t know how much clearer I could be lol. The victim mindset has to stop! We need to learn how to listen with our ears and not our mouths and not getting so easily offended. I've noticed that other races don't bash their races opposite sex but black people on both sides do say negative comments about each other. It's like a bitterness. Colorism is real in the black community and it's quite sad, depressing. Mixed fetishism is quite sickening 😕. My late mom and grandmother fawned over my nieces/nephews alot because of this. I'm not that dark myself, but witnessed to many times people made fun by fellow black people for African features and for darker skin. I have personal issues with black people on a cultural aspect and hope it can get better one day where there's an actual "black community" like was had in the past, sadly the greatest example I can point to would be black wall street. I want to weigh in on the "mixed baby fetish." I am male, Japanese-American, born in Seattle in 1973. In 2012, I married a very pretty woman, who is 17 years younger than me, who is Black/Cherokee/White. We had our daughter in 2013, meaning she's 10 in 2023. We have since divorced, but nothing bad happened between us: It's more like our relationship became "crickets." Had we been closer in age, and had more in common (rather than physical attraction to each other, that we did in 2012), perhaps we would have stayed together. Also, her parents and family have always been great to me, and I'm thankful to them for that. Anyway, my daughter "looks like a younger Mariah Musselman," the daughter of Coach Eric Musselman and Danyelle Sargent Musselman. I know that I'm biased because I'm her father, but I think that she's very pretty. Getting to the "mixed baby fetish:" Since she was 6-7, I've sent my daughter's pictures to modeling agencies, and she has gotten small gigs here and there (advertising girls clothing, school supplies, that kind of stuff). When I was in high school (graduated in 1991), we were like, "Gee, it seems like the Black girls who are considered attractive, are mostly light-skinned," but we didn't want to believe it. Now, the world doesn't even make it a secret. When I watch TV, EVERY Black girl I see on TV commercials, "Looks like she has a White mother." I guess, "Don't hate the players, hate the game," and "I don't make the rules, I just follow them." I just know that, because of colorism, my daughter has a HUGE built-in advantage, as a potential model. Interestingly, for whatever a 10 year old girl's "interest in boys" is worth, she tells me about the boys at school who she likes, and they are all Caucasian boys! And, the boys who like her, are mostly Caucasian and Asian boys! For what it's worth: I'm 5'10", a good height for an Asian male of my generation (born in 1973), and my ex-wife is 5'8" and slim, so I would anticipate that our daughter will be very attractive as a teenager.

It could be because the wealthy successful black man being highly eligible attracts and connects with (non black)women in the new spaces he now moves in. No way am I saying that there aren't black men, who's attraction to non black women, particularly white women isn't rooted in self hate and other psychological trauma that could stem from long ago slavery. Yes those men exist, but to assume every or even most, successful prosperous black men who have a non black girlfriend/wife is like that is simply UNFAIR AND DISHONEST. As a dark skinned blk woman I don’t agree that we think we’re not beautiful - I think we feel like we look gorgeous, however at the same time we do understand that most blk men do not like dark skin. In many cases, how blk men feel does not equate to how we feel about ourselves though, because not everyone is blk male-identified. The simple solution to that is to simply date/marry out.

When it comes to relationships ethnicity should not be the limiting factor. There is only 1 race, the human race. The human genome is the same. Phenotypes may differ but genotypically we are all human beings. If a man and woman love each other other respect each other and share common values and goals that is what matters. Men and women each have their own preferences. Also men and women have the same dating options neither sex/gender is restricted to whom they can be with. If two people love each other and they can build a happy healthy home for themselves and their children that is what matters, shared core values, commitment and integrity are what matters not hair, skin and superficial external appearances.
