I would've preferred a prequel movie showing Black Widow as a bad guy, and her first meeting with Hawkeye in Budapest, and her decision to join shield. Maybe the whole narrative would be a convo between Yelena and Clint at her funeral, and it is a continuous story weaved by the two of them.
The POPulation had to suffer through this, so now you all have to, as well: *clears throat* It makes sense that this is one of the most fast-paced MCU films considering everybody's Russian.
I really liked this movie, funnier than I expected but not overdone. I would have like more for task master but I think what they did was fine just would like to see a Tony masters style persistent as an issue
My only complaint was taskmaster. Her being a female was kept from the public for shock value, which i didnt like bc i thought we where getting comic taskmaster. I prefer the game one way more. Also they didnt have enough heroes she copied
@@Javierm0n0 yes but they kinda shot themselves in the foot with fan expectations. We could have known taskmaster was a girl and the reveal of it being antonia would have still worked. They also knew what they where doing since she was wearing a mans armor. The red room isnt dressing widows in male clothing, so why taskmaster?
@@Javierm0n0 The main issue with Taskmaster is the character is only Taskmaster in name. The fact this is a microchipped and essentially a manipulated, practically fake Taskmaster is the real shame. Male or female, doesn't matter since its the MCU but the whole idea of her being a puppet and not even a mercenary boring. Heck Taskmaster slowly losing his own elements has to be missing in this version, she needed to have much more character. I hope they retcon this as a Taskmaster program to replicate the real one, if they want the character to be female is just whatever at this point.
With the Captain America thing, i was wondering which Cap He fought, cuz ppl said "he was already in the ice" so he might not even know they did Isaiah dirty. That would be a great sub plot where he could say, the one American he truly respected was forgotten by the Country.
When it comes to that story red guardian was telling about him fighting captain America, I believe he was just making it up because when he was around as a supersoldier captain america Steve Rogers was in the ice still. Also in the movie when he asked Natasha hey did he tell you stories about our "battles" while you were on the avengers with him; he definitely talking about Steve Rogers captain america and even Natasha looks at him like WHATT??. So yeah red guardian was just spinning a fairy tail and even if he was talking about Isiah Bradley he has tv in jail and newspapers he would have seen that Steve captain america was around for all these years as an avenger not Isaiah Bradley. It looks like Isaiah was only dealt with bucky in battle and then was forgotten by the us government and then went into hiding.
Unless he's referring to a displaced Cap like a reference to the ending of End-Game. And with all the variant stuff it could be one of those or Skrull fakes.
I loved this movie. I'm glad it didn't feel like a run-of-the-mill superhero film. I'm going to miss ScarJo as BW. Everyone in the supporting cast was great. I want more of Red Guardian. I hope we can get a sequel taking place during the blip years, or even a prequel about her joining shield. My only nitpick would be that Taskmaster was a generic noncharacter, but the film was already so packed I understand why more time wasn't allocated to that character. Hopefully they bring back taskmaster and develop her character and powerset more. I want more of the spy side of the MCU.
SPOILER : I don't know if a "I'm sorry" after blowing her up while she was a kid which lead her live a nightmare for 20 years can really be called a "redemption". Anyway didn't like the taskmaster thing. As soon as they talk about the daughter it was clear it was her. It was just the walmart version of Bucky storywise. And you talk about Ross but not a word (aside of that maybe scandal thing) on the ending ? Like wtf happened ? He arrived, told her "I prefer when you're blonde" and left ? Such a weird editing...
Taskmaster definitely was the biggest let down for me. In this case she was designed to get every mission done and failed at every mission. Taskmaster also could've been so good on Thunderbolt Ross's evil Avengers alongside US Agent.
I liked the movie ngl. It wasn't great and wasn't horrible, the only part that I HATE about the movie was the Wasted Potential for Taskmaster, everything else I liked. Although I will say, I'm a bit disappointed that they never said that the Widows had a form of the super solider serum in them. The Widows are basically spies without reproductive systems, no enigma formula, I think it's called that i'm not sure.
Taskmaster was wasted for me. He could've done a whole lot in the MCU when it comes to grounded films. Falcon and Bucky vs Taskmaster, Yelena in the future getting to fight TM again, Spider Man vs Taskmaster, etc. And it's not just me wanting to see more of Taskmaster, but she didn't win a single fight throughout the whole thing. I saw a theory somewhere, that says that Black Widow was buried where her real mother was, after dreycov tells her, she finds the real place or asks Melina to find where her real mother is and them she tell Yelena and Yelena put a grave in there to remind everyone that she has two families.
Taskmaster can talk it's just we don't hear her talk until after she's freed from being controlled. Overall loved this movie, had loads of laughs and fun watching it with my family
Watching Black Widow right after Civil War makes ~sense but you'll have to place the Val scene somewhere further down the timeline, definitely after Avengers End Game but before Captain America and The Winter Soldier's recruitment of John Walker. I think Dreykov got his footage of the fight in germany in civil war from the the camera b crew.
they really should of had and Ursa Major moment or at most a scene like just an random bear noise in the distance when the meet Red Guardian and him saying damn must be out of vodka
I totally did not catch the taskmaster and gender name swap. But I really don't think they're done with her. You said that she couldn't talk, but right after she was guessed by widow, she does in fact ask "is he gone?" Which shows that after she was released from the mind control drug, she is her own person now, and then she leaves with the widows. Once we get to the end credit scene, they mention that Yolanda is being paid, so that could be hinting at a mercenary job or that she's just under contract with someone. Who's saying that taskmaster isn't part of that team? They could easily bring her into the fold with Valentina, which would introduce her to the mercenary world moving forward. So what, her powers aren't derived from a serum, they're more part of her suit. I'm fine with that, but I do think there is potential for us to get the taskmaster that we know and love out of this version. Marvel just gave her a different origin story
Maybe we also see a name change, to unassociate herself with her father. So maybe she changes her last name to Masters going forward, and then just abbreviates her first name
Solid middle of the pack MCU movie. Which is what I was expecting. Honestly it'll probably be better on rewatches with a placement before infinity war.
They were getting away with the origin of Taskmaster......Now they'll explore that character and the interesting power set, that's why they casted such a big name for such a small role.....its small but just in this movie
Absolutely loved the film! - for me, this film stood out from the MCU pack - it had a distinct Director’s voice - but it felt the most like Captain America: Winter Soldier to me and that’s my favourite MCU film - so I was very happy! Black Widow is Top 10 MCU for me - this film stands out- I loved it that much!
Not only is it the worst film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (yes, it really is that bad), it really isn't how Scarlett Johansson should've been sent off.
I watched black widow twice now. The first time I wasn’t impressed and thought it was too late in coming. I enjoyed it far more the second time. All expectation were gone and enjoyed for what it was. Good actors with good action. I advice watching new rockstars breakdown as it shows the details you might have missed. Thanks for all that you guys do!
I enjoyed the movie. In regards to the accents discussion though, I have to say that it has actually always bothered me that Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal of Black Widow lacks a Russian accent. And that was all the more glaring in this film when one sees that everyone from her past speaks with an accent of some sort, yet she doesn’t.
Overrated movie. Taskmaster treatment was suck, how they treated Red Guardian, the patriarchy figure was suck. Nat couldn't plug her nose or keep distance and shoot or throw something for some reason, after all that time, a plane flying by couldn't see the hideout. Only thing good was the performances of some of the people and action. And some things Scarlett said was bs, that it was women subjugation focused and women and payment, when she gets 7 mil. This is no Jason Bourne movie or James Bind movie, those movies are actually good.

Personally I'd say Bond movies have gone over the same thing time and again. There a quite a few that simply only existed to sell tickets. Depending on the type of pheromone a nose plug might not have worked, and anyway would have been a giveaway. Also would be ineffective for combat as it'll force mouth breathing and would have delayed here ability to get the secondary information she needed of the other operatives. Guessing the idea is the base would only be secret to certain countries since he'd have bought out high ranking officials. We never learnt what tech was aboard the structure either. Overall the movie was okay, not overrated but highly displaced. If they would have trusted in the character and placed it right after Civil War then this film would have made an actual purpose in the MCU instead of a afterthought. This film being a marvel property was unlikely to be an espionage film unfortunately, would be cool if they switched up the genres. Otherall tho, aspects felt different than the usual MCU film before it got the the main drive of the film. Don't know what stuff you're referring about Scarlett so can't give a reason.

And I'm not talking about about tech picking up the hideout I'm talking about good old fashioned flying by an seeing the floating structure. The things Scarlett said that I'm referring to is she saying that this movie is women subjugation focused, when this is in the comics and I believe is based on actual history. The other thing she said was how women are "under paid," when she makes like 7 mil a movie or something. Unless the person paying is a legit sexist, in actuality people get paid off of experience and merit.
