I hope they work on these little flaws and bring a better Priv 2. And that would be perfect !

I believe with the screen blacking out, the phone thinks you are placing the phone against your face and turns off screen to save battery. I had same problem with Q10. Takes some getting used to, but when you get it, not an issue.

The edge actually has a function. Swap in and you'll get your messages that you've missed.

Since then it had a few updates, hope it solved the bugs.

Please answer: I need to know how loose the keyboard can get. If I hold the phone upside down, will it slide out? Or does it take force to get it halfway? I really don't want to get it if it can be loose. Thanks.

I am not sure which phone he used ? I used mine for two weeks and I can't put it down anymore it runs so good and no problems I notice so far.

Hi, stupid question I know but is it possible to disable the trackpad option on the keyboard? I'm asking because I usually type faster on my classic by sliding my fingers across the keyboard.

the screen curve does have a function. there are shortcuts that can be launched. also it launches the hub.

l love my BB Priv. looking forward to the new update of android os 7.0 nougat for the Priv.

The edge curve does productivity tab. Why can't you find it?

I love the keyboard implementation. Just awesome. I'm just thinking about multilingual support :/ but the on screen keyboard is still available. Hope they keep this phone going until perfection. I may buy the 3rd or 4th edition ;p

I really want this phone! Can you let me know how priv handle exchange email / work email in terms of the format? I mean, other android and ios kinda change the format into sort of text only format which make it look unprofessional if you see the chain email on microsoft outlook email on pc/laptops. The previous BB keeps the email format as if it is sent from computer. Does priv keep it that way? I wish it does as i dream for one device to rule them all. Now i am still using blackberry for work as no other phone handles tons of email like blackberry does.

having problem with audio when i plug headphones, it sounds too soft.

This device will be delivered tomorrow as my work phone upgrade, yeah "upgrade". Is this device, aside from the security, work okay as an 8-10 hour M-F workday driver? I've heard more negative than good.

Dude try using the hdr in low light you will see a whole new experience the pictures taken with hdr on the priv is unbelievable, like a flash!!!

Does it overheat as much as the htc one m9?

The blackout it does when you dial is the proximity sensor messing up. It was a known bug on the OnePlus One too. Very wierd but on the OPO it helped flashing new modem but I guess an update from Blackberry should fix it in this case?

This is a great step by BB. I am looking forward for the second gen. of the Priv.

currently using it, its only flaw are the cameras. both back and front facing camera are usless. hope the priv 2 is wey better

Was tempted to get the Priv since it's Android (currently using Android) but it's so pricey even with a plan compared to the Passport. I'll be getting that instead.

i wish they had made the keyboard switchable, so you could attach different things on that small surface, like a controller for gaming. that would make it a great gaming device

I was using a Z30 for a few years, then went to the PRIV. Once I got used to the PRIV, I like it a lot. I mostly use the on-screen keyboard. I can type faster with the on-screen keyboard. I never had any issues with this phone. So far this phone has been working very well for me.

I think you're using the "shutter speed" in the sentence "the shutter speed is slow" wrong. You mean there's a delay before the shot is taken.. probably. Slow shutter speed is something else.

Finally going away from Apple after many years. Really like this Blackberry but also like the LG V10, hope I can decide which phone to go with.

Keyboard is a bit crammed, I agree, Priv is more narrow than Q10 or Classic, so keys are smaller. Overheating is issue for me too, my borrowed Priv was warm even after couple of minutes web browsing, let alone gaming, I blame 2K display and few software bugs, high-end Android phones have heating issues as well but not as severe as Priv. Battery life is bad, obviously, 2K display, powerful specs and not perfectly optimized software are the main culprits, and this is my main gripe. Older Blackberry phones are very utilitarian and focused devices, nothing for masses but have good endurance and performance on the long run. Priv is friendlier on software front but loses some of the staples of Blackberry brand. My work life hinges for a long time on dependable phone device, and after Handspring, Palm and Windows Mobile Motorolas was Blackberry my next choice. Never regret it man, never. But I have PSP/PS Vita for handheld amusemend and Sega Saturn/PS3 for serious gaming, so I don't need gaming phone, I am not social network guy and my main uses of phone are calling, SMS, heavy email communication and document editing. These are Blackberry staples for a long time, they perfected it and no modern platform is even close to compete on this territory with Blackberry. Joke is, obviously, that no modern OS is mainly productive focused beast, productivity is just afterthought, something which isn't important in eyes of customer. I feel so oldfashion...

The phone is very good actually still it has some bugs and it should be fixed in the next update (marshmallow), the overheating problem and the slow shooter speed are the main problems in the priv and I hope it is going to be fixed soon beside some bugs and laggs in the software that's all about it

I can't help but feel that rather than make a device to capture some of the Android crowd, RIM instead just made an Android-based BB to try and retain some of their customers wanting a better OS. As much as I wanted the Priv to impress, it's difficult to seriously consider it with options like Nexus 6P around.

i want this phone soooo bad, but that price thoooooooooooough! its only like $100 less than my s6 edge and it has a [slightly] worse processor! its beautiful and i really love the keyboard, but not for the price. even on a sale i dont think itll be worth it, and when its price cut happens, ill want the next newest thing.

The priv has so many bugs and problems atm it needs so many updates to fix some of the problems.

Although I think it is good to have a second opinion even within the same team, the way this video was made doesn't make that much sense to me. Basically, you are going specs by specs, design, button placement and others things that we already know from Josh's video. This would make more sense if you, Lanh, focus on the things you think differently from Josh's review or things that you think it is important and Josh didn't mention. although blackberry PVRI is one of the best smartest phone of this generation but it should accompany anroid new version and good battery backup it is comparablaly great to s7 edge as it is cheap than s7..... love it but need little development more.....

The bugs are because you don't have the most recent software, the newest official stuff has literally no bugs

I personally think, all flagship phones should have liquid cooling like the one microsoft has done with lumia 950 xl. All powerful processors are going to be hot and this is just beginning. in future you might even be able to boil water on it.

his device must not be great. my battery is amazing. . typing experience is good and I don't have that bug on the keyboard when you switch. I wouldn't take this video as Gospel at all.

A second opinion should have waited until after this phone's first major update considering this is BB's first attempt with Android.

Nice Phone design indeed, but.. as seen and said, Virtual Keyboard didn't show up too often, too hot body/battery on hard duties, blank screen issue, etc.. Well, so let's just use the Real Android Flagship Phone to get much better experiences.. ✌☺

I understand that Android Authority tries to sound as objective as possible but when user's look up a review or benchmark testing, they're looking for a few decisive points. You guys sounds very indecisive and opinion pieces just don't have the teeth. There's a lot to respect about someone who can commits to an answer and defend it with evidence.

It seems like only a real fan can do this device justice. The edge does have functionality and the keyboard is actually not that small compared to other blackberry phones (not counting the passport). Not a bad review but not enough knowledge of the device. ;)
