Do not get away whatever he blabbers. Everyone working in this company have something called 401k retirement plan similar to PF in India to simplify for you. When you retire you need retirement income so you invest in these companies and do not work in your old ages. The money you put in these companies invest in the businesses that creates jobs. These jobs will employ youngsters and they work. So you get your peaceful retirement. That is how economy works. In this model you or your future generation do not need to worry. Think, today you ask these companies to take all the money out of business and return to its rightful owner. What happens, all the companies cannot operate and you will loose job. With all the money you got your hand how long you can surivive? Where you can invest? If the business collapses, banks cannot provide the interests? How your future generation gets job? Who can able to start the business? Will you invest directly in the business? If you invest, how you verify how this business model survive? Even after you invest how do you ensure they are going to be successfully? What if they got another competitor who surpasses the company you invested? Will you able to bear the loss? That is why these companies invest in almost all companies with different percentages based on the confidence of the company success. Without having proper understanding of the Financial Industry this stupid is creating unnecessary havoc in people's mind.

They take deposit from customers, invest in business that are safe like banks lend money. They return the profits to depositer after taking the operational expenses anx profits. As depositer I or others do not have any issues. Those business clealy knows who is investing and the board of directors who monitors the business operations carefully. As a investor they got to vote for board of directors like regular investor who buys stock. The business who get investment do not have any issues. People work in those companies do not have any issues about the investment comes from. The consumers who uses the products and services if they have concerns they have options.
