It starts to get really interesting in Blender! Using Houdini, I see a lot of similarities in these new features, like Simulation Nodes. It's basically an equivalent of a SOP Solver in Houdini. Today I was blown away by the GPU optimization Blender 4 has now. It can be so smooth with literaly tens of millionsn of verticies. And even further, cause Geo nodes uses instancing, I tried to make plain copies of my objects, and I can tell, that Blender is almost on par with Houdini and even surpasses it in terms of viewport performance! Wow! Of course there are a lot of tools that can be better and others that dosn't exist in Blender yet, but man, Blender community is moving fast! I'm impressed. PS: I'm using Linux though. Not tested if it's the same performance on Windows.

Thank you for this great tutorial, really rare that I can actually get through a “complex” node tree (it’s v complex for me lol) one request for dummies like me tho, could you zoom out and show the full mode tree more often? I messed up and it took me a while jumping back and forth to find the little bits I messed up

12:18, I always use the "Combine XYZ" node and plug the single value only where I need it. I think its cleaner then the "Vector Math" even if the result is exactly the same :)
@czyes
@czyes 10 месяцев назад
13:34, In this case I would subtract the "Is Hit" field from the blurred field, it should give a sharper result since it subtracts only 1 and 0. Haven't tested but it should work fine imo...

please add option to toggle on/off the leaves in your tree generator so people can experiment freely. Also if possible add option to define it as grease pencil so people can use in 2d animation related work.

Can you please make a tutorual on how to use geo or sim nodes with mocap or animated (rigged) meshes? I have watched a lot of tutorials but still can't understand how to create a man dissolving like a sand (Thanos disentegration) for example (and still running while being dissolved). I mean, creating sims with static object is no problem, but there are no tutorials on how to work with deforming dinamic meshes, man
