I can't understand how a channel whose videos are this high quality (and hilarious) has less than 1000 subs (at the time of this comment). Forget Doggie Coin, let's take these subs to the Moon!
Aeron usually does poorly in a blind test, but that's mainly because you need to be able to adjust it properly. This test also doesn't take into account long-term use, which is much more important than what most ppl think.
i love this review structure; its clearer what chairs you guys were talking about and we get the immediate information that is the point of the article. having the footage to illustrate pojnts worked really well. . i also loved the discussion. i an glad you fought the inclination to do a chronological narrative structure building up to conclusions, that would have had less time for the panel discussion.
I've got a old Herman Miller Aeron. I love it. There are so many great adjustments. I couldn't believe their current pricing. Mine is a long term keeper!
I feel like with Dave's confession it just shows that if you know something is expensive you are inclined to like it more psychological. That's why people pay for expensive brands it's the illusion that you get your money's worth.
Yong here. Great point. Be on the lookout for the second chair video coming in the next couple weeks. Won't name names but someone chooses a cheap chair even when comparing high end chairs 😂
Dave! Being 5' 6.5" you pointed out everything I were concerned with. I really need a head rest with any chairs. I think I would have gone with your honorable mention.
Hi Lu-Hiep! Dave here. Thanks for your comment. I'm glad we share in the same concerns. You know who else does? Kevin Hart, lil wayne, tom cruise... Just to name a few other winners who can also relate 😊
The problem with the secret lab chairs being uncomfortable is that you got the omega, which isn't made for these height/weight classes at all. Shoulda got the Titan for sure.
Dan here - yeah see the pinned comment. It's all we had unfortunately but the omega did fit 2/3 of the testers. I'm gonna reach out to SL and see if I can't get myself a titan, but that won't be til later unfortunately!
@@TheBlindGuys Yeah I have the omega myself and I'm 5'10, 170 and I can definitely tell if I was 180-190 I wouldn't have enough room for my legs between the sides that come up.
Titan gave my tail bone and lower back constant aches and the Titan was within my measurements. Change chairs and within weeks all my pains are gone. Currently using a ErgoTune chair and would definitely re-purchase. My other issue with the Titan arm rests was that they were too far apart.
Interesting video, but I'm confused about the structure. I was expecting to watch the process of each blindfolded person sitting on the chairs and then going over the conclusions at end of video. I think that would have made it even more fun to watch.
Thanks for the feedback. We were considering that option but the video was getting really long. Will consider in future videos. Also, ask any questions if you have any :)
Dan here - were much funnier when we feed off each other's energies. I appreciate your thoughts but yeah like yong said above, that would have been a much MUCH longer video and as the host and video editor, I can tell you it wouldn't have been nearly as fun as what we have here. If we get enough demand on pt2, I'll release the full cut but I don't think it'll be as fun
Nah i hate that buildup structure. it works for other formats but not with roundups and panels. Loved the format you guys chose with the footage being used to illustrate points but focusing on the panel discussion more.
Just a heads up, the Secretlab Omega is meant for tiny people. So Yong was bound to hate it. The Titan XL is the one he would've had a better experience sitting in. That said, I've owned a Titan XL (I'm 6'5", 220 lbs, 36 waist) and it was... meh. Yeah I wouldn't say it was my worst experience, but it was just sorta ok/ good enough for government work. Worst for me was the herman miller aeron because it felt like it was made for tiny people.
Yong here. Good to know regarding the Titan XL but will take your word for it. Agree Herman Miller Aeron was not made for taller people but still think it's a quality chair. Just wish they made a taller/larger version. Appreciate sharing your thoughts!
I don't understand why people watch other crap channel and this one with high quality, more effort review has a few.. This deserves millions of views!!!
The thing about these chairs though is you have to sit in them for hours and months to see if they bottom out or start to effect you in negative ways. You can't tell just by sitting on them.
Hey @banhammer! Dave here. I indeed love the herman miller Aeron. However, during the blind test, i actually had no idea i was sitting in the herman miller chair. Surprisingly enough, I started bashing on it. I think that observation lends to the fact that blind tests can prove some surprising things
@@TheBlindGuys just wanna say that you’re an extremely funny and entertaining addition to this show. just wondering how you were not able to pinpoint some unique and noticeable features of the aeron… like the mesh, arm pads, and lumbar support
@banhammer you're telling me! I'm still embarrassed about it. Haha but thanks for tuning into the video and being a vital part of tbgfam. Would love if you could spread this channel with your friends! -Dave
Yong here. Now that you mention it, those features were nice on the aeron. Was too focused on finding the best chair for taller people that I forgot to even think about the positives 🤣
Bro how does this only have 30 k views and 2k subs. This is good! Such great quality and the guys are hilarious! Great work! @youtube get your shit together
Really nice and funny review ! I was a bit surprised when i saw you onlyhaving 3K subs !!! (felt like i was looking a video from a 100K subs channel or something like that because ofthe quality of the video and even the fact that this concept is really nice !) Keep it up guys you are very funny AND very helpfull ! :)
Really imformative and hilarious video, i have secret lab 5.5 same height as Dave so was funny that he couldnt put his feet on ground at even lowest setting when i can put it bit higher lol. This gave me dilemma about my chair tho. Lol. Interesting picks. Great video. Subbed
I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY YOU GUIYS DONT HAVE MORE VIEWS AND SUBS!!!!!! The intro alone deserved a sub. lmfao. Fuckin hilarious. Love the content! good job guys.
@@TheBlindGuys Absolutely!!! Good work deserves praise!!!! Keep it up! Id be really looking forward to some Haworth, OM Seating, Steelcase chairs in the next vid :) Again great job, much love!
ANNNDDDD maybe get a guy on the larger side, Like 250ish lbs. Would add more variety to people watching videos to see what chair theyd like to buy. But seeing 3 guys under or at 200lbs, some would consider it less relative.
Yong here. I'll bring it up with the team and see if we can get one of us up to 250. That being said, our significant others may be against this idea haha 😂
Im 187cm and 102kg (will lose weight xD). I can buy used HM Aaron but 99% of the time, I find size B in refurbished markets, so I was thinking about the NeueChair. Can you guys maybe help me out? or maybe there's a new chair you guys didn't have in the video?
I'm considering getting the Neue, as I don't have a market for used HM in my country. I've heard people say that the mesh on the seat eventually gives out, making it so that you can feel the lower part of the chair when sitting. Is this a problem you have encountered? I'm around 175cm, 64kg. Keep the content up by the way!
Yong here. Overall chair was great when I first sat in it but I did feel the mesh giving out when I was sitting longer than a few minutes. Of course I'm heavier than you so that could have been the reason.
Not sure about the hash pattern but my thighs started feeling a bit of pressure. Don't think Charles and Dave mentioned anything about sinking in so could have just been me.
Yong here. We were given the option to adjust each chair as we were blind testing with the help of the host. For example, if I think the chair is too low, I would ask the host about raising the chair.
Mentioned in your other video but please please have a woman in these since most of the specs for the guys make them way taller and much heavier than most women.
@@TheBlindGuys have you guys tried out the remastered yet... Im trying ti see if it worth it or not. And weather to get the posture fit vs the lumbar support
how does the short guy not choose the Herman Miller in both of the videos? there was a second review and he chose a different chair shouldn't they be the same chair.
Yong here. I agree. However none of the testers including myself owned any of these chairs prior to the recordings and were not told which chairs will be in the tests. Could be just us but having blind folds on and not knowing which chairs we are testing really made us focus how the chair feels to each of us instead of looking at the brands. You should see Dave's face when he was told that he didn't choose Herman Miller as his top pick in the first video 😂
@@TheBlindGuys Those armrests are a dead give away! he said it himself, he loves Herman miller the sexy brand name. 😂. he felt those armrest curves while blindfolded and fell in love like a blind school child on their first day of reading braille. his fingers danced with excitement over those unmistakably herman miller arm rests
Hahahaha Dan here - he only loves Herman millers bc I told him about my side hustle (this was over a year ago). He never really sat in one but as soon as he found out Dr dre uses one, he’s was all about it
Hey Dan here. Audio def isn't my strong suit in editing. Any tips? Also, which point in the video sounded off? We have individual lavs but it's such a hassle to use in post, so in the group setting, We used my single mic setup that I use on ahnestly bc it's so much easier to use. However, in part 2, I forgot to turn on the recorded and lost a good chunk of footage. No good solution so far...
@@TheBlindGuys hi! high pitches are too loud, but overall i find myself lowering the volume on most of the laughs because even on medium levels it goes really loud from time to time. let me give you a clear example: adjust your audio volume so that you can comfortably hear at 4:27, then listen without adjusting again till ~5:00. at 4:38 there is a loud hand clap, from 4:47 most of the audio goes loud. at 6:17 the laughs are like screaming. now, for this example i only watched again just a chunk of the video but there might be better examples. I’ve not done this in years, but audacity has a tool very straightforward in this regard, it’s free and easy to use so you might want to spend a couple hours to learn the basics. it's not evident as much as video, but audio quality is what makes content really feel like professional, and there are tricks that can be learnt really fast that step up the game alot
Yong here. To keep the video as short as possible to provide the most value to our viewers, we only commented on our favorite, second favorite and least favorite chairs. Chairs that we did not comment on were somewhere in the middle. Personally I thought T50 could be considered a decent office chair. Dan over at Ahnestly did a full comparison video between T50 with T80 if you want a more indepth comparison. Here is the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w2EdftYLBQE.html
I bought the Secret Labs chair. I was having pressure point pain where my hip bones pressed into the seat with most chairs, when I sat in the chair for the first time I thoght like you oh no this is to stiff and uncomfortable and will have to return it. Much to my surprise after 4 hrs in the chair no more pain and it felt much more comfortable. The foam does a great job distributing my weight evenly through hips and thighs. After 6 months love it.
But some advice: do less talking with you NOT actually sitting in the chairs and giving live impressions. It is hard to understand and remember which chair it is
Dan here - as the host, I thought it would be a boring and an extremely long video if you saw them review every single chair. It makes sense when we have 2 products or so, but for 7, it’s really tricky.
