Corrupted Ashbringer in common is the worst flavor fail.

Control Blood Death Knight is definitely gonna be my go to. It looks so strong, big minions, lots of healing, bonus HP, walls of taunt, strong removal, and some cool win conditions. Great job Hearthstone team. Seems the only thing it lacks is some card draw, aside from value generation. But I think the neutrals will fill in the gaps in that regard.

Soulstealer (15:20) is like that "guaranteed to win brawl" custom card you reviewed before.

I like the rune introduction, I feel including this in other classes as a "talent" tree spec would be good.

Soulstealer reminds me of how strongman made control warlock a thing in madness at the darkmoon faire, because you git a free 6/6 taunt with your twisting nether.

When seeing Vicious Bloodworm all I hear is, "Hello everyone, it's deck intro time. This time the OTK is simple, we use this obscure mechanic to bounce Bloodworms back to hand stacking the buff each time. Then we finish by playing a random charge minion blizzard hasn't removed yet. That's pretty much it, lets get to a game"

Crazy to me that they said they didn't want 1/1/1 DK to be a thing because it seems like an excellent midrange deck

Pandaren importer is absolutely fucking huge in DK. For all the other classes, if there's a card you really want, you probably already have it in your deck, but the rune system means you always leave some amazing cards behind for pandaren importer to pick up!

I'm surprised they didn't make any dual or triple rune cards. You now, like one Frost, One Blood rune. Or a big legendary with all 3 runes on it. Probably saving that for future expansions.

Blood DK would be more Orzhov Control rather than Azorius or Esper Control tbh Edit: I love this format where after review cards you present an early theorycraft to illustrate what a deck would look like

I was thinking I'd run two blood runes and a frost for a control, since frost has pretty good removal. But goodness gracious is it hard to pass on Twisting Nether that leaves you with a 5/5. And fills up on corpses as a cherry on top.

I'm genuinely hyped for playing blood DK. Looks like a really fun control deck.

Was waiting for the Reno deck build. Was not disappointed

with the corpse system being so strongly implemented for death knights, i sense that a Monk class might be around the corner with a Chi based resource

As somebody who is a fellow control enthusiast, I also totally see the value of Saurfang. Unless it gets silenced or removed in such a way that it doesn't trigger the deathrattle, this thing is just giving you an endless 3/5 taunt. Blood also has several ways to utilize lifesteal and health manipulation. Are 3/5 taunts super duper relevant? Not usually, but imagine you're trying to play something else that costs 6+ mana also. This will be an old reference, but the control decks that would drop Ysera or Ragnaros on the board and then just have nothing else to really do that same turn. Decks could ignore the big minion, or maybe they have enough minions on board combined with some in-hand buffs or damage spells to just take out your big minion right away. You can sit that big minion behind a 3/5 taunt on the same turn. You could play your 8 mana blood minion that is a Twisting Nether on legs and then ALSO play Saurfang on the same turn. That's a REALLY big swing for a control deck. Imagine those scenarios where you're playing against a control lock deck and they slap down Twisting Nether and tap or a 2 drop or something on the same turn. Okay, now imagine a Twisting Nether but also they play a 5/5 and a 3/5 with taunt all on the same turn AND still have 2 mana left over. That's a REALLY big power play.

When I see Noxious Cadaver my mindset is "Yeah I am willing to spend two hit points to deal two hitpoints AND get a corpse when it dies." it's basically free with all this life gain and hey early momentum and corpses is great. I do love control decks so this should satisfy the itch I've been missing ever since Librams rotated out!

Mograine saying "End of your turnS" instead of turn reminds me of how in yugioh, so many cards say "at the end of each battle phase" because there is like three cards that can give you an additional battle phase, and they need to specify that it works in each battle phase in a turn. Because in hearthstone, what if you get time warp after playing mograine

I wasn't entirely sure the triple blood deck would be great but seeing it all together now I can't wait to play it!

Do you think that the multiple good 1 blood rune minions increases the power level of the unholy cards retroactively due to the strong synergy?

I wonder, if you bounced Alexandros via brewmaster and replayed him, would the damage stack or remain the same? (also is brewmaster still in the core set?)

does all classes have corpse counter at the start of the game? would be sad for thief priest and rogue to not use the good effects of dk

I'm gonna enjoy playing Alexandros Mograine a lot on my Thief Rogue. The funny thing is I could trigger that Battlecry a lot more times than the average Death Knight will be able to. I'm not gonna get him most of the time, of course, but I foresee a couple of glorious games happening.

Deathbringer Saurfang does have it's use tho I don't see why he couldn't have been 4 mana like Sen'Jin. With how fast aggro decks snowball I could see it being a turn too late by 5/6 mana

reno in a 40 card deck with two vampiric bloods is such a good idea. Not only will I have the inconsistency of a 40 card deck but I'll also have the inconsistency and decreased power level of reno jackson AND a good percentage of the time it won't even be live on turn 6 in a meta where healing to full health probably isn't that relevant unless you have a high likelihood of winning in a turn or 2 and reno would help you survive that long (like in jailer paladin)

I love combo so sadly I'm going to have to do 2 frost ruin so you can combo daddy d with brann using the 'bisquit'. But your blood decks look pretty good.

Here is a question: Say you play Boneguard commander with 2 minions already on board. Would you summon 4 1/2's but still spend 6 corpses?

Deathbringer Saurfang is ALWAYS worth playing. -5 health to play, but you technically heal 5 (or more) since they need to get through Saurfang.

Death Knight looks like quite a fun class with a unique deck building component - i'm just hoping we don't "figure out" the class and get forced into certain archetypes later into the expansion. It's a very minor concern though because I think they added JUST enough to keep people happy with various combination of Runes.

think this and patches are the reason to run zola bran morgain and patchwerk you zola bran on curve if you have both to get double bran and then you can play both with bran at 10 as needed.

Now trump, you know the rule. You only get one duplicate in a 40 card Reno deck, as a treat

some combo of discover and multicaster makes for good draw

A funny way to think about Deathbringer Saurfang is that it turns your hero into a Duelyst general (RIP that game by the way, wish there were private servers for it)

If you’re holding a lifesteal weapon (such as one Corrupted Ashbringer) then the damage from mograine will heal you, and THAT is what makes the weapon so good.
