Blowing the JL Subwoofer! Could have sold it online for $130... 

I was just watching the boss one being blown but as soon as you said I will blow up the JL audio subwoofer I got the notification for this video

Invert the american bass subwoofer, its alot bigger than the jl audio sub and requires more airspace. With the American bass sub inverted it will get louder and play lower.

If this video isnt a testament to JLs quality I dont know what else is.

I prefer the sound of a paper cone.

just bought a 12 inch wov3 this sub has lots of bass that you can feel no matter what position you place it up down or sideways i have mine towards the back left on my honda accord sideways in the trunk and you can really feel the bass!!! hghly recommen these jl subs !!

W1v2 are great subs I've seen them on ebay sell for more than w1v3 often. They definitely take a beating and sound very good for what they are I put 5 in a 5 cube ft ported box tuned to 30hz on a T20001bd fosgate amp and the lows out of these subs are impressive and the abuse they can take is even more impressive I've had a bit to much power going to them and had them bottom out and it sounds like a gun shot lol scared the hell out of first time I've heard it. But these have got to be some of the oldest subs you'll see regularly for sale on eBay and still sell for good money.

I still have two of these in my car. They work pretty well still. Like brand new. They aren't the best but can't beat free lol.

Put the American bass in a vented box

i have 2 of the dual electronics subs 2 different versions on a nobsound home audio amp and its a 100 watts RMS but pushing bout 400 watts u should maybe test it out on another dual electronics sub the subs are good for home audio and that JL audio sub took a beating

Go get you a power acoutik BAMF. Its rated RMS power is 1750 and will handle it easy. But you have to get the dual 2 ohm

you gotta have a real amp or clip it to blow a mildly decent speaker

I have a 300W powering a JL rated at 500W. This video reassures me that I could never blow this up, no matter how much clipping I throw at it.

I don’t know why ppl pay what they do for JL speakers.Back in the 90s they were way ahead of everyone else but today you can get so much more for your money.If you compare those speakers the JL is a cheap Chinese stamped speaker.

Man folks with to much money or people just starting out and uninformed buy jl audio hahaha I was suuuuuuch a fan boy from 1998 to 2010 or so... then I paid a fraction of the cost or equal (in reference to 3 13" w7s and 3 1000/1s) for some dc audio 15" lvl6 with xl soft parts and an i.a. 40.1 and my entire life changed hahaha suddenly 350$ for a fuckin w3 felt like getting kicked In the balls. Shit if Sq is the argument I'll refer to zapco amps and things like the sundown SD4s a fraction of the cost of a w6 and equal if not better cone control and sound production with a smaller footprint. The f.s. of the w6 and sd4 are nearly the same with an impressive 27hz or so. They both have a 2.5" coil The sd4 has a neodymium motor that produces precision control granted it does heat faster. And the sd4 costs 1/3 the cost of a w6. I have 2 sundown sd-4 subs for sale sitting right in front of me and gotta say... I was wowed by the sound production of these for the first time in my life bass sounded... definable and I've had w6s, w7s, w3s, type Rs , hccas, vegas, ive litterwly owned the flagship sub of almost every company and if Sq is the argument , then that sd4 smacks the w6 around all day from my personal experiences. Like I get it and If I HAD to buy some off the shelf speakers or subs Absolutely jl audio would be my choice. But with the modern age of digital market... jl audio needs to do somthing ti save themselves... years ago they made a huge stink over a coming announcement and I remembered all of us anticipating an spl specific woofer with their ability to spend R&D money ...we thought oh fuck here comes the w8 (this had to be 2012 or so) and I remembered opening the page at announcement time and a fuckin home audio version of the w7 was their huge hubub.... like come on guys... you got passed a long time ago and you of all company's have the money to not just dip in to the spl realm but to make an impact possibly change how the typical spl woofer is built..... mtx had the money to after their government contract and they fucked off.... I've got high hopes for skar and deafbonce, same as seven and sundown the owners are massive audiophiles in all departments. And they are making a big name finally after the work they've put in the last several years. Wish seven didn't like baisicly tap out... I was intent on buying their subs when I decided to make one last good system for myself recently. Still happy I found skar. Skar has impressed me. I could live without 3" voice coils but... otherwise the evl has astounded me for the cost (I have 3 10" tuned at 32.5hz in a crew cab truck) I'll always be a jl audio fan... thats what got me in ti car audio... those old 90s stamped basket w6 subs that were amazing for their time...I aprichiate them but it's no secret they're getting stagnant with the w series and all these new revisions. I'll give em props on those Amps though being able to apropriate the same wattage from any impedance I super handy for the average consumer. And jl was always great with warranties when id blow their shit every other week. But these new company's are just as good warrentie wise and much better value for the money. Sorry if my opinion isn't the popular one but for the cost of these things with the available resources and knowledge...jl is a losing brand. I'll always hope they reinvent themselves, but not gonna sacrifice money for a logo.
