What a car. Honestly, every time I would get in a car like this, I'd be playing with every electrical thing in there before setting off. It annoys me that the majority of people who own cars like these just take them for granted and see it as an A-B car.

If she says this interior is not as plush as the last generation S Class then I can just imagine how "normal" it must look compared to the all new S Class that's just been revealed. The interior of that thing is insanely luxurious. The best I've seen in any full size luxury car.

Wrong. The chrome strip was always there , the tail lights received a darker shade of red.

The chrome strip shown in the video was always there however the 2013 Facelift received a chrome strip on the rear bumper.

A good car, but I guess is that if you compare this to the Merced S its bespoke touch and feel, this car still ends up as just another upscaled 5-series. And people with the money to afford a car this big, simply want unique.

S Class is not upscaled E Class? There always will be similarities. Same applies to Audi and Lexus. I've driven 1997 S Class and 2001 BMW 7 and they are different. It's a matter of choice. S Class is more comfortable and 1997 model better built, but that comfort is at the expense of driving pleasure. S Class feels also very boring from driver's point of view. That is why I prefer BMW 7, which gives loads of driving excitment. I have not driven current models, but according to Rebeca BMW 7 is still a driver's choice.

the problem with Carbuyer is when they measure the back seat leg room and headroom, they dont seat relaxly, if you put your back against the seat so firmly , its bound to give you more legroom, No one seats like that, everyone wants to relax in the back seat, so please , seat relaxly and comfortably when you talk about legroom and all. you will see a massive difference when you seat relaxly ( drop front a bit )

You guys messed up during post edit. The chrome strip spanning the trunk and integrated with the backup lights (which is what was shown) has been there. The refresh added a chrome strip on the bottom bumper.

This review is spot on. Just came back from a test drive of this beautifully made machine. This car is excellent however its true that its interior isn't as classy or in other words feel as expensive as the W221 S-class. I'd never noticed about the steering wheel being similar to the 1 series but it does look and feel not as expensive as the price indicate, furthermore the leather does feel rather abrasive. The ride is good and the handling puts a smile on my face despite it is a large car.

The Mercedes S-class's anti-roll suspension is actually superior. It stays completely leveled, no matter how fast you throw it into a corner. But I still like the 7-series better for its steering feel and interior which is better imo.

the new 7 series 2016 reviewed by them is smaller than this model. that is because the new 2016 bmw 7 series review by them is a base model standard , not a long wheelbase.

3:57 if you're talking about the outgoing S-Class you are completely wrong! I've never seen a shoddier, more downmarket interior in the segment than the current S. The NEW S however... just wow!

dipro001 If you are a businessman then yes. There is a £15,000 difference. Though most people who buy brand new would buy it on lease. Those who are able to afford it, they will buy the S class, as for others, including me, since i am unable to buy the new S Class, I will be going for the bmw 7 series brand new of course .

I have this car in xdrive li. I’m over 6’6” and folks that ride with me have plenty of room. Sport mode feels like a Porsche. My only complaint is the front cup holders. Buy it used and certified and you’ll get a great car

Rather than talking about where to store your cashews/snacks etc why not talk about something important to everyone - where to store and/or charge your mobile phone!!! You completely skipped this major point. Also, why didn't you test drive the straight combustion version as they make up 98% of 7 series sales. Besides, hybrids are notorious for major problems. Talk to any Mercedes S400 hybrid owner or look how many low mileage S400 hybrids are for sale.

Nice car, but a 5 series GT is 20,000€ cheaper and you get the same amount of head room, similar boot, higher driving position and low running costs (if you go for the 520d). More people buy the 7 because many people think that the 5 GT is a poor man's 7 series.
