I forgot to mention in the video that ideally the pivot ball wants some white grease on it. I didn’t have any to hand when fitting the bush, but have since greased it up.
Next time puts some boards in front of the ramp. When you drive onto the boards it will lift the front end before you get to the ramps allowing you to drive up.
It could be, but there are also other parts of the linkage that can cause it too. Check if you can move the stick upwards/downwards. If it has play in it in that direction then this is the most likely the cause of the issue.
If you have to remove the exhaust and your flanges bolts have rusted to nothing, prepare for hell drilling them out when reinstalling the exhaust. Hell.
My e46 got stuck in 5th gear and the gear stick spins around in circles. Can I fix the linkage through this way? Or am I gonna have to take everything out? 😅
How do you get the steering wheel controls to work with an aftermarket stereo, I’ve got the stereo working but not the buttons on the wheel. Also sweet video I bought an e46 Friday and already looking at fixing everything
Cheers mate. To make the steering buttons work for the stereo I had to use an adapter. It was readily available off eBay but I can’t remember exactly which one I bought or how it fitted, but it was plug and play. Feel free to check out my other videos, there’s a few with my e46 and hopefully some others that you might find useful
I was going to ask the same thing. Mine shakes now after getting rear ended by guy on motorcycle while I was stopping he rear ended me going probably 25mph while I was almost at a dead stop. What are your guesses?
Just bought a little corsa that seems to have the same issue .. the stick lifts all the time and I have to be careful not to slam it into reverse instead of 1st ... I reckon you've put me on the right path to sorting it out mate nice one !
The Corsa depending on the year, have a common issue with the linkages themselves. There’s a Vauxhall modified part for it that’s not that expensive if I remember right, but it’s a while since I’ve done one. I think I remember them being in splines, and can be put on off centre if you’re not careful.
