BMW G05 Trailer Hitch Full Install With Wiring and Module Installation
Step by step tutorial! DIY
In this video I will show you how to correctly install the BMW Tailer Hitch with BMW integration on a BMW X5 G05. You must have the correct option code on your BMW for trailer pre-wiring to install the module and the wiring.
However, If you just want a hitch for a bike rack or other add-ons you can follow my procedure and just install the hitch portion with no wiring. You do not need any option code for just the hitch install as it would be a bolt on component.
Part numbers required for this installation.

Control Module (computer) 63 11 5 A05 6D0
Bumper Hitch Cover (Skid) (Requires Paint) 51 12 8 099 115

I appreciate the time you took to make this video. It will be a great help. Can you please provide the part number for the bumper support (25.25 mark), quick rivets and the size of rivets needed for the rivet gun? The trailer hitch is needed for my bike rack and will not be using the wiring harness (wish the 2021 was prewired 8SL) but is it possible to modified the kick to open panel to be installed on top of the trailer hitch? Please let me know what you think and what you think how this can be done. Thanks !!!!!

Hello, I do go over the part numbers in the beginning of video. This is great for a bike rack with out doing the wiring install. However, you are not able to use the kick feature with this install. Also if you did modify it and it went off incorrectly it could damage your vehicle when it hits the bike rack.

I did the hitch install on my 2014 F15 X50i. Not difficult.

I did, but I haven't yet had the rear camera recoded for ball hitch view.

If i just need the trailer hitch fir bike rack, i dont need the wiring but i still need the hitch of xourse as well as the unpainted lower bumper body piece right? Do you know the part no. for that piece?

Great video. I just got an X5 M50 and was looking if this would be simple, which i mean how hard could it possibly be right? I looked at your parts listed and you have three items. Does the module come with the harness and also did you get everything form BMW?

Hello, Yes all the items where purchased from a dealer. The harness and module came as a kit.
