I just recently purchased a 2024 R 1250 RS. I am located in Round Rock, so maybe we can meet up sometime. I just finished my 624 break in service and I was, how do I say, hoping for more. Why does it feel like the engine is going to explode at 6K when the bike redlines way higher. Thinking the exhaust and Bren tune would make me allot happier. I haven’t done many mods other that removing satnav cradle and luggage frame, and installing Helibar risers.
I have had no issues with the quickshifter on any of the RS I have ridden, although coming down through the gears can be clunky. It is good to see the improvement you now have and thanks for updating us after the installation of the flashing. RSMF and shiny side up.
Thanks for watching and commenting. It is clunking up and down but that’s the nature of the boxer. The tune definitely helped to smooth things out a bit.
My 1200GS/LC benefitted from a Rapid Bike easy tune module. It works like basically increasing the pilot jet (analogy) and enriches/smooths out the part throttle response.
I’m probably talking nonsense but if the engine braking has reduced it suggests more/richer fuel is now being injected when you shut off the throttle compared to before, and by the same token when the quick shifter shuts the throttle on an up shift the engine probably isn’t slowing down quite as much as before, explaining your smoother quick shifting 🇬🇧
Sounds like a good explanation. I’ve been watching the gas mileage and it is pretty consistent with pre-tune numbers. I’m hitting between 44-50 avg mpg.
Thanks for the update! If I recall, this download is something you would not do if your bike was under warranty correct? Second, do you think some dealers would be willing to do this for a customer? Good job!
I know many people do flash their bikes even while under warranty. However, it technically could be an issue if you end up having an mechanical problem while the warranty is active. For me, I just wanted to be safe and not potentially void my warranty. Thanks for watching.
Good stuff! And some serious spending with a full Akra. You inspired me to add a Sargent seat, but going for their rear seat rack rather than pod. It might look a bit odd, but I tour mostly with the RS. For sporty I recently bought a Brutale 800rr .... I think it's easier to integrate a quickshifter into triples. It's like a formula 1 gearshift compared with my RS (which has its own magic aka highway passing at speed of light lol). Enjoy!
@@wandering_armadillo Thanks for dropping by and checking out the video. Yes the entire Akrapovic titanium system was over $2k and the BrenTune was another $800 or so, but worth it in my opinion. It's like I have a new bike. The headers are now turning that lovely purplish blue color. So how do you like the Sargent seat? I love mine. I don't tour much, so the pod functionality and look was the right move for me. For you, the rack definitely the way to go. Jealous you have two bikes. I'd love to have an RT or K1600 for longer more comfortable rides and a RR or R for the days I want to have quick fun for a couple hours. Take care, safe journeys to you.
@@Texas2Tires Tremendous! Pricey, but you have transformed your RS into a new machine, so worth it I say. I’m still waiting for my Sargent, quite excited for the look and a wee bit shorter!
@@wandering_armadillo I’m sure you’ll love the seat. I really love mine. I just came back from a trip to the Twisted Sisters ride in Leakey, Texas. Monday I was in the saddle for 8 hours and my butt was very comfortable.
No didn’t want to spend the coin. Already spend too much on the bike and channel. Plus there’s always the risk of potentially causing harm to the bike. Also I’ve read dyno numbers can’t always be relied on. Important thing is I know the bike well and can feel the difference.
@@Texas2Tires hahahah. I like that. I have a 2020 with only 11,000 miles. If you haven’t tried the continental road attack tires yet it wakes the handling up. Still a little slow steering but stable sticky and plush in all situations
@@drewyager4020 Like many others, I went from the stock Metzlers that came with the bike to the Michelin Road 6. I'm enjoying them. I'll look into the Contis thanks for the suggestion.
@@Texas2Tires Yes! This is the only way to remove all the stuff Euro 5 regs have done to our beautiful machines. Take the stupid emissions stuff off and tune it to be a motorcycle again.
