BMW S1000XR Owner Review 

Best and most informative review out there. Had mine for 6 months riding in and around London and love her. Best bike I have ridden less my old Blackbird. Well done and honest. Says a lot that you came back around to it. I like the design that can support cases and touring. I commute my old R1150R with top case almost always - just so practical. I've seen a lowered suspension version that might fit me better. Du sprichst doch gut Deutsch! 👍🏼🏁

Great job,as always. Really appreciate your reviews, but I brought a Ducati. I now own a BMW R 1200s and now a Ducati Mulitstrada. Always wanted some mumbo that only a Ducati can give. Still watch all your posts and enjoy them all. Keep them coming. Well done old mate. That's a Aussie thing. Old mate. lol.

I rode a Xr for a week in the Alps, great bike even with the wife on the back handles great and the pro asst. shiftier is awesome especially down hill into a tight switch back, only went around like 200 of them. The thing i didn't like was the kick stand is about an inch short which doesn't seem like a big deal unless the bike is loaded then its quite a tug to get the bike straight! The other issue is that a low rpm and then give it some throttle the throttle body is really loud even thru a helmet! But over all i would buy one in a minute but for now i will keep my 2011 Multi as i just love the way it handles and sounds with the full Tergamoni system!! the Ducati has a character that i really like! I am older and wiser know and no longer buy the latest and greatest! i but a when the bike is two years old and save a bunch , it also allows me to see what all the bugs are before buying!!

Thanks for sharing the info regarding the Zumo's, was it easy to connect yours to a switched feed ? Or did you buy a plug / connector ? Cheers

Great vid Shaun, as always! I own a Garmin 590LM too. Does the BMW navigation wheel on the handlebar still work combined with the Garmin 590LM? What can you operate with the navigation wheel in the BMW Navigate 5? Grüssen aus Amsterdam :-)

Great review. I find the engine on mine runs hot, is toys the same? Mine is normally between 70c to 100c more 80c to 95c depending on the speed I am doing.

Yeah she runs hot, mine will go up to 103° when stood still, when on the move it varies between 80-90

Solid review, mentions everything. Its a deceiving bike, looks and sits like a GS Adventure bike. But its actually a liter sportbike for people with back problems.

Don't forget that the bike is available in a low suspension model, this comes with a low seat as well as lowered suspensio, so forget the bike is for tall guys only ...... it's not. Get out and order one.

Are the sliders big enough to protect all of the plastic in the event of a stationary drop ?

What about the important stuff like service intervals and cost of servicing valve clearance

I like this bike but find the exhaust too loud, becoming unbearable on longer rides… Even with earplugs.. and unfortunately there isn’t any fix for this

Most worthless review I saw in 6 months. And a gs is really higher. I have both. Gs rallye 2018 on Lowest stand is even higher to sit and to get your leg over.
