He would have fought wherever they wanted him to. I think it's a great push for Bo that shows his pulling power. And don't mistake it. He has massive pulling power. This card is completely stacked so to end the prelim with a former champ fight is actually pretty smart to keep eyes on the prelim as well. I think they built this card perfectly, and its no disrespect to Jiri or Figgy or Garbrant and whoever else is on the prelim who's a former champ.
Its a buisness move, Bo's fan base is the wrestling communitty collegiate and national level, and middle-upper class families, it will bring a whole nother fanbase and ppv buys, he will bring more than jiri, thats the reasoning
@@BrendannotBrandonthe UFC 100% has control over the press / media and who asks questions. Remeber when they banned helwani? They know who the media people are and if they started to boot these people asking these stupid, boring or pointless questions they would improve. It’s a private business not a public event they can control who participates.
we get it, but this shows how UFC doesn't care about what fans have to say. with no fans this corporation is nothing. like it or not he will be star. i don't like it. do you? don't you mind all the hard working guys with records of 15-0 who still can't get UFC contract? I do, I think there are fighters who deserve it more than some college wrestling champ NPC
@@MatthewMcRowan Not agreeing with the process, just recognizing it. Luckily he will have the opportunity to prove himself, or be another CM Punk. He may not be a champion, but he wont be that.
That makes no sense. Bo has a large following and is a promising prospect who has plenty of years to make the company lots of money. You forgetting that most UFC fans are miserable assholes who try to tear down anyone for the most pathetic reasons. Every eat coast wrestler is incredibly exited for Bo's career. It's way past time this part of the county has had proper representation. Rust belt wrestlers are some of the hardest working athletes in the US @@MatthewMcRowan
UFC fans love to complain about how there are no big stars like Conor anymore but throw a hissy fit when they push a guy with clear championship potential like Bo. The last guy they pushed like this was Sean and it's worked out well for them. I really don't mind a guy who will most likely end up fighting for a title in Bo opening the main card over guys who almost certainly do not make it back to the belt like Jiri and Cody/Figgy.
All these guys are on Pereira's knuts too like the UFC didn't cherry pick the easiest and fastest path to the title so they could do the Izzy fight with him. People hate on promoting promising fighters, but the UFC keeps doing it...because it works. These rubes will be cheering for him in 2 fights
@GlitchedNomad bo is a 4x ncaa champion, a combat sport that people actually compete in. Unlike kickboxing. Pereira had the quickest ever route to the belt, and he did it without having to fight a single good grappler. 👍
@ScuffedLandlord your comparing COLLEGE wrestling to world class kick boxing. And he fought jan a good wrestler, and he didn't do anything on the ground.
It's pretty bad, but that's the price you pay for 20 plus years of rolling around on a mat. His buzzcut accentuates his cauliflower ears even more but what can you do.
He might be talented sure, but the way he's being pushed so hard is like that meme from The Office where Kevin is being force-fed broccoli. The idea he would be on ANY PPV main card is laughable, never mind a PPV as stacked as this.
They are doing it because he is selling PPV’s, dude has been wrestling in stadiums of 15+ thousand people for like 8 years. A corporation like UFC does not just “push” people onto the main card when the undercard is absolutely stacked with big names that also sell PPV’s
@@Braindance98 it's not because he's selling PPvs it's because they want him to and maybe him dominating a can on the main card will help sell him in the future.
I feel like the reason people don't like Bo is how hard the UFC pushes him which I guess is fair, but as a person he seems super level headed and chill
Lmao y’all are sad as hell. Why would you not push a potential star? And cocky? He has had less than 3 minutes of combat in the octagon in all fights combined. 😂
This guy is the next George st pierre or fedor. He doesn't need to be an a hole. He just shows up and wins and is happy for the chance. Then he goes home and tries to be a good dad and man in the community. People forget what good men are and start thinking conor McGregor and jake paul are what they need to be. Nah. Remember randy coutre never talked trash either. Nor stipe. Goat fighters don't need to talk trash. They just win.
If you listen to Bo’s podcast and hear him talk regularly he is always calm , articulate, and very disciplined and determined. I genuinely believe the hype is very real and the dude will prove it, just like suga did and continues to do
Why are you hating ? Genuine question The dude seems smart, feet on the ground, and is hella entertaining, always going for the finish Let’s see what he can bring this time, I don’t get the hate tho
Bo seams like he’s got a good head on his shoulders and I’m excited to see him climb the ladder in the ufc. I’m proud to see him representing America and showing the youth a great example of how to carry yourself.
This cat is super intelligent. Confident. Calm. Again, super intelligent about the sport/competing in general. I really don't get the hate (oh wait, yes I do). "Great spirits always face opposition from mediocre minds". 😊
I'm a fan of Bo! Yea he's getting pushed.... but plenty of other former ufc starts were just pushed like he is now.... Its not Bo's fault he is given a can and a spot in the main stage. His job is to make a show, and in time, his position will be shown.
Im actually buying the PPV to watch Bo. I would have purchased it to watch Hill & Justin but I am super curious to see how he does against a seasoned guy who is strong, wrestling backround, finisher, takes a punch and hits hard......He may face adversity in this fight.....Want to see it.
On a sidenote as a fan, Coach and wrestler in the community, I can tell you that 90% of the wrestling community is not on Bo’s side. He’s actually been dragged on multiple platform for his dumb and out of left field comments regarding one of the greatest American wrestlers in history. so for him to say that people behind the scenes have supported him is honestly funny because he can’t really name any of those people outside of his probably immediate circle.
You're talking complete nonsense. He's a massive favorite amongst wrestlers over here on the east Coast. Every wrestler from my community is incredibly excited for Bo you speak for a very small minority.
@@Logan-zv4xg bro where ? You say that without backing it up lol I already said his immediate circle are likely the only ones. He’s not getting any support from the wrestling community on this one and actually flow wrestling. The only way fans get to watch wrestling came out and dragged both through the mud about his take. So you can keep coddling up to Bo’s ball sack like you are I’m sure he’ll recognize you at some point.
UFC is so smart at building stars. Just the fact they put him on the main card with only 5 fights, gets people to care....Everyone complaining about his PPV spot, wants to see the fight....BO makes same money either way. Last fight on Prelims could be argued is best for a guy like him.
Bo is probably my dads favorite fighter, and until this week he always calls him Bo Kimble. I have no idea why lol This week he finally said “Bo Nickal is fighting this weekend, right?”
Everyone who loves the UFC has to realize the need to market and develop the next generation. Bo on the main card of UFC 300 is a direct correlation of that thought. Accept it and enjoy the fights
If he was opening up the prelims we wouldnt have an issue but this guy being over all these former chanps is ridiculous. The ufc backing him like just backfires and now he isnt liked
I like him... I see no reason now to. Why crucify a dude for something the UFC did. It's not Bo's fault that they placed him where they did. Everyone out here acting like it's Bo's fault. The reality is Bo had no MMA experience whatsoever outside of his 5 pro fights and collegiate wrestling. He's young and has so much time to develop. Why rush him? He's clearly stated multiple times that him stating "main card or bust" was a simple joke and doesn't care where he is at on a card.
Bo has fast tracked so much in the ufc because he already is a very skilled and experienced wrestler that could most definitely mop the floor with even the best in the UFC. This guy has been wrestling his whole life….i see this comparable to Michael Chandler entering the ufc from bellator. The fact is and most people don’t think of is that Bo can already beat anyone in his division.
The kid just started MMA a few years ago. The UFC isn’t going to rush him to fight a high ranked guy and risk him losing before he learns the necessary standup skills to succeed. If Bo does get another first round finish, then his next guy should be right outside of the top 15. Let’s see how he does against another wrestler first. What if he can’t take Cody down? How will he handle that? Has his standup evolved enough if he can’t get a takedown against another wrestler? Oh and another thing, let’s see how he reacts when he gets hit for the first time and rocked for the first time before he goes and fights a guy like Johnny Eblen, or Jack Hermanson, guys in the higher end of the top 10.
There is few things in UFC that make argument for it not being a real sport and the way they promote and treat Bo over (in my opinion) more deserving fighters is one of them.
I really like Bo but placing him on the ppv card not so much. I would have been okay with him closing out the prelims. I think the ufc is doing Bo and the fans a disservice. But hey what can you do. The card is still amazing. Let's go Bo!!!!
It’s not like it’s Bo’s call where he gets on the card. I think he’s an honest, good dude. I get people mad that he’s on the main, but don’t be mat at him.
Absolutely zero hate for Bo. I think he’s a legit contender in the UFC but to be above some of the other fighters on this card is just disrespectful. I hope the best for his career but let’s not act like he deserves to be above half of the prelims.
Hating on this guy and calling him cocky is crazy. Dude is the epitome of what young men should strive to be today. Religious, family oriented, determined, respectful, educated. U guys just sound insecure!
UFC seem to make this move a lot lately. They did the same with Paddy and then people didn’t like him anymore. Same to a degree with O’Malley, people kind of turn against these guys who UFC push hard.
Should it be on the main card? Probably not, but let’s not pretend that they have some filler fights on 300. Bo isn’t fighting a well known, highly ranked guy, but that fight is pretty much guaranteed to be exciting with a flashy finish, I’d much rather see Bo fight than any of the females on the card.
this guy gets PPV Place with some low level opponent to boost Him up....what a great move by the UFC dictatorship. it says allot about the UFC and how they treat the UFC Legends who have allot more Soul Work that this guy.
@jmajor5262 in reality he should not be on the ppv for 300. The highest he should be is the last pre-lim fight. He's a stud but he's getting uncle Dana love. His record by no means gets him on the main card.
@@jmajor5262 @jmajor5262 get off Bo's tip. Im happy hes a ncaa champ. Hes 5 and 0..not to be on the 300 main card. Newbies like yourself may think so. But in reality it was a gift from uncle dana to get the push. You will learn one day and younowe me 50 for the education.
@@jmajor5262 He a former UFC champ? Didn’t think so. There are 6 former champs that are fighting before him. All of which should be ahead of a prospect like Bo.
I’m not against him being on the main card to push his career. Does he deserve it over former champs? Maybe not but hey he’s clearly very talented why not give him a big push. But why against Cody Brundage?
Sounds like he just wants to wait out the current division. 28 ain’t too young as fighter years unless he was already fighting the best but he wants to work his way up with not even fighting 3 times a year? Sounds like he’s going to get a title shot by 2027 with that pace and hunger. He’ll be early 30s before that happens. I think he needs to push that pace now
Cody bríndate didn’t get an interview. Everyone else on main card got interviewed. Why not Cody Brundage? Oh maybe because he’s a sacrificial lamb for this weekend.
lol BO nickel is a massive favorite I doubt brundage wins I will take a shot at him with those odds and I bet Bo next fight he will fight someone better and hopefully those odds are the same
It's a Christian statement. We have a great hope because Jesus Christ is our Savior as He paid the price for our sins so we can stand before God through Him. He has defeated death and sin.
Brock Lesnar was in a UFC main event in his 2nd mma fight and Bo is a more accomplished wrestler. Brock won the title in his 2nd UFC fight. Bo has won 3 times that number of fights in the UFC and destroyed all his competition. So take it easy y’all. He may prove to not be ready but the great thing about this sport is we are going to find out in a couple days, regardless of what casual fans think.
Bo Penny fr until he fights top 10 contender, then he can become Bo dime. Bo Nickal is for top 5, and Bo Dolla is for number 1 contender. Bo shiesty is if he wins the belt. until then, Bo Penny it is
