Ur so lucky. I got pulled into a huge scheme and ended up on psych meds. I can’t cry for sorrow anymore. I can cry for joy but there is something blocking my pain. It does not feel healthy, but I have been hated so no one pities me, and I can only be vulnerable alone. Getting some distance from *heavy* tears has helped a lot of people. But. I wanna be vulnerable some day. It was beautiful. Being strong and silenced is hard work.
@@connor48880 It was added to the official playlist which I think confirms it's legitimacy. Although I still have second thoughts about whether or not it is directly from Closes, which, if it is, would be awesome.
This song is sitting in a dark room as the sun slowly sets, anxiety disparagingly materializes until thoughts of suicide take over. But then a warm, chilling yet toxic feeling takes over, giving a millisecond glimpse of the beauty in this world. Realizing that flash alone makes life worth living
“There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man ... a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.”
Thing is... from this end, feels,... akin to rejecting the LOYL, but being so numb that it doesn't matter anymore... especially cuz the LOYL is even numb'er than you are... n'sees it as they are rejecting you... so that, both are idiots...// ect.// trains// ect// ect... something poetic about chaos and evil ect...// ya 🤷♂️ Isn't it interesting how different we all interpret n'see things 🤔
I keep thinking this is what it sounds like to die. Not that it's a bad thing. It's peaceful and consistent, with regular life happening quietly behind slow droning.
Thanks to Marcus and Michael to introducing me in the other side of the music. I dont have favorite bands, but BoC can be. Mystic and nostalic music. BOARDS OF CANADA THANKS
When I listen to some of the BoC songs , they are so beautiful and evoke such emotion in me that I get confused and wonder if maybe I am just listening to the same song that I had previously felt uplifted by 20 minutes ago because each song seems to elicit the same emotional reaction in me of calm and wonderment. But it turns out they are all unique and equally wonderful in their own way.
Spot on. How come it's only certain ones of us that love boc music? I've tried playing it for others and had minimal positive results. Is it your all like me and my personality? Are there a defined set of personalities or is it down to our life experiences? The joys of being alive!
this song makes me think of a study or library of some sort with tall windows and beams of golden late-in-the-day-autumn sunlight streaming through so you can see a bunch of dust particles floating around, and everything's just kind of still. smells like sweet wooden floors and old dusty books.
How can I explain what this song does... The constant knocking takes you into its arms and the synth sounds soothe you to sleep. I swear this song is extremely effective for going to sleep.
Whenever life gets a bit too rough, take a 5 minute break in this beautiful snap shot of the 5th dimension that BOC gave us. Enjoy, let go, and come back to the world whole again.
It's strange; no one was supposed to hear Closes Vol.1, yet here is a video on youtube claiming to be music from just that. BoC added it to their video playlist (I don't think they would have done so if it was mislabeled), possibly meaning they are subtly confirming that this is indeed off that album. The song itself is so fantastic... it puts me in a trance. It's the soundtrack to a dream. I really wish they would give us a word on whether they will release the rest of their material or not.
@@TheHal90000 It’s speculation, the (length) time stamp for “5D” (5:21) mildly correlates to the shorter track presented here from RT55. The time was part of BoC’s official discography prior to the release of Music has a Right when their old works were removed (you can find that album info on BoC pages.) The assumption is that this track was shortened by around 25 seconds here due to the cross fade to the next track on RT55 and this actually goes on for a bit longer on Closes. BoC fans love nothing more than being able to give this unnamed track an official name, and feeling like they are listening to their private stash (the brothers state this album has only been heard by friends and family).
Listened to this when I was really spaced out, it calmed me like crazy I ended up losing it and didn't know the name, so I searched for days, and got exposed to a plethora of other amazing Boards of Canada songs. I finally found it, and I'll never forget it, this is just amazing
if you haven't heard the twoism album , you should go hear it! twoism and sixtyniner and smokey quantity are the absolute best! same with the sleep mix soo good its like and 1hr long but great! 35 random tracks also
1985, Volcano, CA. The grass is green because of solid winter rains, but its warm today. Pines are casting long shadows over the teepees. My sister is nearby
Came across this song after a real intense acid trip. It was well into the next day and I was still tripping. Put this on and fell into a deep trance. As a musician this is as good as it gets. Just.. Beautiful...
That is really strange, indeed. The amount of endorphins that kick into the back of my head when I listen to most BoC music almost knocks me over. I always get pulled back several years nostalgically as well.
I had a dream last night. I had won a contest that would bring two bands to play some sort of gig in my backyard. The first band was STRFKR. I listened from my patio chair, with a huge smile on my face. The sun was out, the weather was great. We talked for a little while after their performance with sangria in our hands, as the next band was getting ready for their show. When they left, I realised the second band was BoC. Tears of happiness, fell down my cheeks! No joke! Best show ever :)
^ It's okay you're okay did indeed sample this song. There's a video I remember seeing by the artist who made it's okay you're okay talking about sampling the song. This same sample is also in the song Seven Forty Seven, which BOC made as well. I think 5D came way before Seven Forty Seven if I recall correctly.
nostalgic sounds of this track take me way back 10 years to university times. growing pains and timeless memories I won't ever forget of beautiful forests, long rains, good friends and a lot of smoke
@@aumurphy it's on "Closes Vol. 1" from 1992, but.... unless you were a close friend or relative of someone in the group at the time, your chances of listening to the album are 0. It was never released for wider audiences and it has never surfaced online beyond this one track.
on the precipice a short stretch of gravel staring outward with high hat heartbeat and peeled back eyelids pinned to the same spot; the one with the furthest view hit hit miss miss and the remnants of two seconds prior. a thought loop
that moment when you listen to a song for the first 20 seconds your hairs begin to rise and you feel something over you like if this is what you felt the first 20 seconds
Its really interesting that everyone seems to get nostalgia when listening to these guys. I've been listenting to them for over 10 years now and still get that feeling. There is some science there to be looked at...
This is art, their work is a melting pot of feelings and memories, it makes me dream while awake. Music like this should be praised, modern mainstream music is shit and I'm no hipster. I'm in love with Boards of Canada...
This is Audiotrack 6 (Side A) on Random 35 tracks. Random 35 Tracks is neither of the Old Tunes volumes. This song is also a sample/slowed down version of their later song, Seven Forty Seven (appears on Warp20). A song called '5d' is rumored to be on an old cassette called Closes Vol. 1. This cassette has never been released.
YOU ARE NEVER ALONE, EVER. "WE ARE GOD'S PERFECT THOUGHTS...THERE IS NO REASON TO SUFFER, EVER" "ALL CONNECTED, ALL EFFECTED, SIMULTANEOUSLY, ALL DIVINE LOVE ENERGY"
Kanal von LV4206 has multiplied the emotive effect of the tune and lyric of this track toward an understanding of the grave impact of unsubsiding human exploit on our Earth. Like.
747 is a very mysterious track. It is really quite interesting. I believe maybe they loved this track very much. to have used it so much. I originally thought it was new, and had been made recently for Warp20(unHeard), but now i know it is an extremely early track. I actually believe it might have been either the last track the original band made, or the first track marcus and eoin made together. Anyway, if this was the original 747, then it has evolved alot since it was first made.
This IS Seven Forty Seven, it's an early version of it. This version was released on a Warp compilation. All of the tracks on the so-called Closes, Vol. 1 are either Boards of Canada songs from other releases, or tracks from different artists. Nobody has ever heard Closes, apart from close friends and family of the band members. The same applies to Hooper Bay EP, Play By Numbers EP and Acid Memories EP. However, some excerpts of these tracks can be found (and are the real deal)
Some of the most insightful comments seem to come from Boards of Canada playlist. There must be a connection. I wish there was a support group I could go to that has this level of understanding. Love to you all.
+Stephen Pryce not really imo, it just uses the same vocal sample in the beginning of Seven Forty Seven. like audiotrack 8A from R35TT uses same drum loop as June 9th, but they're different tracks altogether
