Bobby Hurley was a savvy guard that used every ounce of his physical ability but came up short in the NBA. In college though! He was a problem! Ncaa career leader in assist and 2x national champion. Put some respect on his name. Here's 3 reasons his growth was Stunted.

Has a lot better life than probably 95% of those who had the "Elite Gene" which is code word for he's not Black. Guy was as tough as they come. We grew up in same section of Jersey City and my uncle played basketball with and against him on teams since they learned to walk. You should have seen what they had as a gym. The professional game wasn't for him, he took it as far as he could as a ball player. What he did was put together an impressive resume, that would make him a decent coach one day. If he's even your neighbor let alone your coach, he knows what it takes to get to the next level. Nothing to sneeze at right there. Make a video about his brother Danny, it'll be quick.

Some guys are special players in college, and that's great, but you don't necessarily see them making that transition to the pros. Mateen Cleaves, David Rivers, comes to mind. I put Bobby Hurley in that group, though it is unfair what happened to him w/ the auto accident. I fully expected Grant Hill and Christian Laettner to tear up the league, though. Grant had those nagging injuries and Christian, I don't know.
