I hope you don't stop reloading your the reason I started reloading and I have learned most of my info on casting from you I hope all is well with you and your family
I know you’re sick of all the gun grabs that are currently taking place right now, not to mention all the RINOS that are sadly probably going to sell us out in the Senate. But we miss your videos! We know you’ve taken breaks from RU-vid and we don’t blame you, but we hope you’re doing well Elvis!
Breast plate of righteousness, i like that!👍🙏 Good video. Miss you making videos Elvis! Hope & pray everything is going well for you & that you will be back with us soon & making new videos. God bless you & your family, take care!
Good stuff! Something that is often overlooked is the carrier. It is my belief that every American should own at least two. One that’s slick and easy to conceal, and another that’s setup to carry weight. Ammo, Comms, medical, water, tools, batteries etc. And, if someone can’t afford having two different carriers, shoot for a middle ground. Also, whenever possible, buy American. Crye, BCS, SKD, T.Rex Arms, etc.
A carrier set could have a wee over-shoulder-bag to handle spare gear on hand. Grab n Go. OR stash several bags as resupply caches. BEATS Carrying every friggin thing at once. JUST a idea concept. Waterproofing is desired. Paper corrugated boxes accept a solution of dissolved Beeswax which repells water well and is cheap. Rotsa Ruc.
@@LupusMechanicus It gets me places. The never trumpers and Democrats dig it, then have an immediate “wait, what??” God fearing anti-communists get it and approve. And the ones that drank the Kool-Aid like I did in 2016, but are somehow still sipping from that cup, some of them are still open to having their minds changed. Hope you and yours have a blessed New Years!
@@elvisammo No tin foil just an airspace between you and something. I'll make a video it's probably the most important thing for people to understand. Everyone has thermals and you need countermeasures.
Hey man I have a question and didn’t see an email to contact you. Not sure if your channel is monetized, but I just applied for mine and my question is are your reloading videos monetized? I’m not sure what to expect with mine’s.
It's really only illegal for felons or people in the course of committing a crime. There aren't even too many restrictions on selling, except that CT has a weird law where the sale has to be face to face. (I guess they figure a shady person just always looks the part). There are also restrictions on export.
Good stuff as always Elvis - so how do you think it would *actually* hold up in a real life shooting situation? Going back to cast zinc bullets, in the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 3rd Ed. on page 28 says that Remington developed nearly pure zinc bullets for an armor piercing handgun ammunition. I wonder how that body armor would stand up to our own cast zinc bullets? It would be nice to know if bullet casters could cast an armor piercing bullet ....since bad guys will wear armor too
Advanced ceramics uses alumina oxides. Speed kills armor not caliber diameter. Over 3000 fps defeats quite a bit. I tried a 175gr hunting bullet in 7mm Rem Mag and a hanging 3/8” AR500 plate was defeated at 100 yds
No side plates ? I hope to get some armor complete for me and the wife SEATTLE .. but cost is to high for us and the kit adds up varieties and makers all over the place make it very confusing. Again SEATTLE 4 miles from Chaz Chop.
I tried the 77 grain 223 mold from Arsenal Mold co. The powder coated bullet is all over the place at 50 yds. Do you have a solution? 27 Grns of CFE 223.
that's a decent size charge for that heavy of a projectile. what is the barrels length and twist rate? 1/7 is a bit too fast for these, they like 1/8 twist.
🏌Have you ever tried alternative bullet coatings? Maybe jb weld or different acrylic paints vs powder coating, they have simular properties and no oven ⛳
Dayton armor is the best, my l4 is only 2.8lbs but this is the best deal I have seen, good on you. Edit: lied the rf2 plate is 3.3lbs it feels lighter. This MIRA armor will protect you better from AP than the rf2 will. Oh yes RF2 will stop 50 cal AP haha. But smaller faster AP can go through it. Specialty rounds over 3500fps basically nothing except sabot rounds.
😂 Believe it or not I think they make armor to defeat against 50 BMG! It’s kind of ridiculous but you know. You will live but all of your bones will be broken😁😐🥴
@@elvisammo Material science can't yet defeat the laws of physics. A 50 BMG carrrys around 15,000 foot pounds of energy. Bad news is, you just took a speeding Ford F-150 to the chest. Good news, hey....the plate survived!
Component shortages and scalper inflated prices. I'm guessing he ran out or ran down to where he didn't want to use that volume anymore. All of us reloaders who have been doing this for decades have cut way back both in reloading and shooting. I'm not paying these prices they want for stuff right now in 2022. $70+ per 1k of primers? Are you out of your minds! They were $30 per 1k when Trump was President! A pound of powder was $16 -$24 on average. Now it is $35 -$40+ per pound. Scrap lead used for casting is over $2 per pound right now in September 2022. It was .39 cents per pound a few years ago. I shot 200 - 600 rounds a week every single week for decades. I only shoot 100 - 150 now and often skip a week or two in between. You have to cut back or else you will be way overpaying for supplies at these prices during this epic failure and excuse of a Administration in history.
Duo edge on magazine carry in front of chest when gugging prone to Mother Earth gives comforth when opposition perp prjectiles fly low. . . No time to (foxhole dig). Appreciate this explanation vid.
Sorry to bug you on a different subject. But I’m trying to find a heavier 223 bullet and seen your 225 77 mold and wondering if it paned out? I was trying to find somewhere between 60-65 grain mold. Any information would be surly appreciated Thanks
Hey elvis ammo talked to a guy at a local gun store about how i was powder coating for 30-06 and he said that you'll wear out a barrel just as fast with powder coated bullets as with jacketed bullets so i consulted the internet and from what i found some powder coats do contain silica that is abrasive and i was wondering if the Eastwood ford light blue had silica in it?
Completely off the subject, hate to sound stupid, but I am having trouble with powder coating, any way you could contact me and try to figure out what Im doing wrong? or anyone in here is welcome to chime in, Sorry for going WAY off subject.
I know this doesn't have anything to do with the body armor. But when you're casting lead to remove the impurities. Is it a good idea to use hardware cloth prior to loading extra lead to making ingots? This seems to be an easy way to remove the impurities.

🏌. Ever get that primer mixture down? In the beginning, alot of those early mixtures were corosive, something to think about. And where do you, get primers? Elvis "Thank you very much" ⛳.. .
