I like that you brought the foot position up. I am an equestrian, and that's how we communicate with our horses is through body language. They will always go rhe direction you're looking at and the direction your feet are pointing, even if you donit without realization. All those limbic responses are things our horses look for in us to be calm, when we're calm, they are, when we get nervous and start head scratching, sweating, pursing lips etc, there is a chance your horse won't even come to you. I love it. Because I have to make sure my body is conveying what I want my horse to understand

When they hit common ground Vigo’s reaction is downright unexpectedly hilarious.

That scene I feel is so underrated, it made John so much more loveable in the movie and kept the rest of the movie personal

I always thought the "looking down" and lip movement was a sign that keanu was completely out of it, maybe even unconscious, and is now just coming to. To me, his ability to regain consciousness, address the situation, and converse with Vigo implies that he's a god damn badass.

Honestly Keanu's angriest moment in his film career. If I remember correctly, Keanu losing his actual wife was painfully close to the plot of the film, and fueled a lot of his performances on set.

I think Viggo might lack fear because his stressor is tied to a chair after being hit by a car and has 2 guards right next to him.

Vigo loves John and has respect for him Vigo wishes John was still his or maybe the son he never had

Amazing movie with an amazing breakdown.

They could have very easily made Viggo a run of the mill mob boss villain. But they really went out of their way to make him complex. He likes John. He respects John. He really doesn't want to kill John. And the feeling is mutual, despite John not showing feelings up front. He kills without thinking about it for a second unless it's someone he respects or likes, such as the guard he lets 'take the night off'. And it's the same with Viggo when John escapes here and corners him. He knows why Viggo is trying to kill him, and knows Viggo doesn't want to. And so he doesn't kill him when he could have and just walked away once he got the info he needed.

I doubt youll see this, but I just wanted to say thank you for these videos, until I came across your channel, I have known nothing about body language, it is a constant issue with talking to people. this channel is legitimately helping me with that, and I just wanted to say thank you for this, sincerely.

Viggo only feels comfortable because he feels safe. 1st he's not alone and 2nd John is tied up. Viggo shows his true colors when John is free.

A good video but I have an important observation to add. You mention how Vigo repeatedly demonstrates his lack of fear and that he is not going to be intimidated in Johns presence. But were John not tied up with three of Vigo's henchmen in the room with them, well..............

If you haven't done it already I'd love to see your analysis of the play and the aftermath later that night and the next morning in "The Dead Poets Society" Robin Williams's breakdown sitting at Neil's desk for me is one of the most gut wrenching things I've seen that felt truly natural from an actor. And Neil's dad...my word.

Do actors also have your knowledge of body language as part of their training and practice, or does it all (or at least most of it) happen naturally while acting out these types of scenes? OR do the DIRECTORS have this knowledge in mind, and try to convey it to the actors prior to shooting the scene?

You know what, I hear a lot of people say that Keanu is a bad actor and I've never agreed. I always thought his talking in movies had a bit of a weird vibe going, but he has very good body language and that's more important to me. That defines an actor. When they can speak without speaking.
