And honestly, her behavior is normal for her. I don't think she has a solid sense of self. Thus she is always on stage when in public, always copying what she thinks is the right behavior, always acting in a way she thinks best serves her. I don't think it's deliberate. I don't think, given her emotional and mental health issues, that she can behave any other way. You see this constantly with her. She copies the clothing styles of people around her. She copies their hair styles - did you notice that the day after the psychologist testified that she showed up in court the next day with the exact same hairstyle the psychologist had. I don't think she knows her she is so she constantly tries to replicate the appearance of people she admires or feels have respect or credibility.

Actually, if you watch her interviews from back The Rum Diaries you can see how weird she was then. I watched a couple and I was done... It really puzzles me how Johnny himself thought she was the actor the writer for that movie would want, let alone how he got to marry her! Really puzzling, but men are enchanted by beauty, please learn, beauty does not make a relationship work.

Just playing the devil's advocate here, because I do think Amber is being deceptive. But...what if she's become aggressive after years of putting up with Johnny's behavior. Sometimes people stay in a bad marriage longer than they should, for whatever reasons, but by the time they are ready to go, they are frustrated and it comes off as being aggressively angry. How do we know that's not going on here? I'm curious to know what other folks have to say about that.

According to Dr Hughes notes, Amber casually dropped that she feels she has multiple personalities living inside her. That's not been addressed.

You know I wondered about DID but I just don't see it in her. We would have seen her change sometime in the courtroom. I have a friend with OSDD B1 and she has 7 alters. They used to change as much as she changes clothes. Now she has claimed the Host and it is much better.

Again, it could just be her going from a regular emotional state and then immediately swinging into aggressiveness, anger, and impulsivity (hyperarousal) or into a depressive state (hypoarousal) which just means her window of tolerance is small. She maybe feels like when she’s in those emotional states that she’s not being her stable self, which doesn’t indicate it’s DID at all. Additionally, Dr. Curry didn’t diagnose her with that.

I agree with you, @k m. I used to have to call the Kentucky area in a job I had, when I was 18 years old. The Kentucky accent is one of the most pronounced southern accents. I notice when he says the word "pain" you can hear it. His accent has diluted over the years and probably with exposures to other accents, and acting utilizing different ones. I myself have a southern accent coming from VA - and have been a little self-conscious if my accent would be interpreted as less educated. Leaving that area, my accent has lessened, but still at times a few words come out, revealing my true native accent.

I find the southern accent incredibly sexy, I am from UK and the southern accent is just amazing, you could be the ugliest man going but if you have a southern accent.........I am undone..............

I totally agree! I did a little acting with Julia Roberts family, Julia had to work hard to loose her southern accent! As an actor, you cannot be identified for where you are from, and you must learn many different accents!
