can understand Michaels reaction & saying he should protest but that's the mark of a true champion , he knew he jumped the start , so lets play fair & instantly took his top off.. fair play to the man.
That is because Yohan Blake hadn't yet proved himself on the world stage. Asafa Powell was doing well and was the best in the world at one point, but he flopped at every major event. Yohan needed to prove that he had what it takes.
It's funny that Tyson and Michael Johnson wanted Bolt to not accept responsibility for the false start. He knew he had false started and I am glad he owned up to it. The last thing we needed was for him to hold up the finals, as others have done in the past.
its a stupid rule...considering the magnitude of importance of the event in sport...it's not like they are trying to save time...its a ten second event for crying out loud...
I am glad if you false start you're out. It's unfair to the other competitors who are waiting on the gun and puts them under additional stress. It's also irritating to watch a race start over and over.
originaltruevibez That used to be the case but false starts were really common back then. If you got away with it, good for you, if you didn't, then you have a second chance. It was really cheaty so that's why they made it a disqualification for the first false start.
+Freedomz exactly a false start affects other athletes so I think it's appropriate. And honestly unlike some athlete who loves to protest even when they know they messed up, Usain knew there was nothing protest.
+Izlandprincess1 Oh no, Usain could protest but he knew his training partner would be out, so he took the blow for him... look at 7:22 and you will see that Blake false started
the toe drag is a common technique used by jamaican sprinters especially taught by usain and blakes coach glen mills its used to optomize full range of motion for a strong and lengthy first step
Something I never noticed before is that Blake actually twitched in the blocks with his left leg which sent Bolt off, bet anything that was why he false started. Probably didn't protest coz then Blake, his training partner would have have got busted. Look at 7:22 slo-mo.
anyone who doesnt think bolt is clean is the real idiot, he was running world class time at the age of 17 before his body even fully developed thats all natural talent and a great amount of hard work and effort
An Ta that argument right there is invalid, im an athlete and like every other athlete you have bad performances.. im a triple jumper ive went from jumping 44ft one meet to jumping 39ft the next..your confident that his using it for what reason? i dont know..maybe to make yourself feel better? but im confident his not because his said if they want to give him a drug test any time they can
An Ta Bolt's season opener the year he ran 9.58 was only 10.00, his season opener in 08 when he ran 9.69 was only 10.03, see a pattern? The main rarely runs below 9.9 sometimes not even sub 10 early in the season, it's ALWAYS been like this with Bolt. So your argument is a piece of fucking shit, shame on you.
Usain Bolt didn't false start: he was triggered by his training partner, who flinch in the blocks at 7:22. It was Blake who first make the move. Bolt is definitely a hero, taking the burden of false start, by taking his shirt off, showing that he would not protest against his own training partner. He is certainly a legend.
I think Blake deliberately flinched to trigger Bolt into false starting so he (Bolt) would be disqualified & Blake would have a better chance of winning the race. This is a tactic that some runners use.
No, he false started because hes human and made a fucking mistake! Bolt's not afraid of anyone, based off his first round and semi final he was the CLEAR favorite for this final
Peter Parkinson Bolt had ready said in the lead up that he wasn't in that kind of condition to break a WR. He did the 200m in 19.42, which is obviously great but not peak Bolt.
Blake clearly flinched and pushed in to the blocks but it obviously didn't register with enough force to trigger the sensor. Bad luck there. I don't think he would have broken his record here due to the strong headwind but given how easily he ran his rounds I think he would have put down a 9.75 at least which is damn impressive into a 1.4 headwind. Then again, you never know with Bolt...
@@kevinprior3549 no because that guy is an absolute professional compared the typical arrogant Americans and has unbelievable willpower to compete toe-to-toe with a much younger once in a generation athlete
I know who he is, he's one of my favorite sprinters but not everyone else does. so if i had said "porps for Christophe Lemaitre" no one would have known who i was talking about. and i'm not racist AT ALL, it's a FACT that the "African-American" race has better genetic sprinting capabilities than caucasian/white race.
Blake flinched a little bit watch it in super slow mo, think that’s what threw him off he would’ve ran a 9.6 something! He should’ve protested may be but not that’s not in him!
It's weird that Bolt's lower back shows him to be pretty hyperlordotic, a pretty big disadvantage as it tightens your hip flexors, decreases ROM, ultimately making you run slower, yet he holds the WR.
Obviously, for anyone to beat Bolt, he has to be at his best and for Bolt to not be at his best. But still give Tyson some credit. He's the second fastest man in the world with a time of 9.69.
Michael Johnson makes a solid point, blake did flinsh his right leg, and that fucked with Bolt. We don't know if the flinsh was intentional, only Yohan knows
Change the rule, since when in life is a person who is a human just like the rest of us not allowed to make a mistake or be given another chance? What kind of message does this Olympic Rule and Committee send out to children who are watching, what? That you can't make a mistake in life and that's the end of your life??
+soldierviejo Lol you are taking this out of perspective. This rule prevents a sprinter from gaining an advantageous start by anticipating when the gun goes off. Also, prior to 2010, there was too many false starts. This disturbed the rhythm of the race so much actually. Hence why this rule has come into place. I don't get why are you equating this to a moral stance when this are the rules that are set in place.
rvind92g I equate it to a moral stance because there are children who watch the Olympics and maybe it's in my nature as a Teacher to always value the lesson learned our youth of tomorrow should gain from everything they encounter. I understand that it is a rule but it isn't like a Sprinter jumping the gun is causing someone to lose their livelihood so I see nothing wrong with giving a second chance. I apologize if it offends you that these are my thoughts.
Lo Mi You think so? It wouldn't be far fetched either.. but a bit difficult to exercise w/o suspicion. However, neither video here shows the time from the gun sounded to the runners starting to run in rhythm.
Hahah people are so crazy. It's scary that some people actually think like that. He took the US national anthem playing in the background and turned it into a conspiracy.
i watched another video of that and found out somebody in the crowd faked the noise of the start shot, so usain was unfortunately the only one who felt to that...
watch Yohan Blake twitch @ 7:23...pay attention to his left hip, he moves slightly on his mark... Unfortunate I was hoping to see another world class time from Usain, possibly world record.
could someone please tell me why the US national anthem was being played at the start of the race 1:25? I know the meet was in Korea....Is that why the US managed to get all the best lane draws? lane 4 for virtually every event final. even when they were not the fastest qualifier...I guess they were running the show from behind the scene.
Another reason to love jamacian sprinters, they are ruining the show for Americans... Also, the national anthem was probably for the winners of some other event, going on in the same stadium...
Wow...what fans must realize is all these athletes respect each other. At the end of the day they will will sharing a drink. We are the ones who get all caught up..Its good to be loyal fans but some just act like assholes..
It don't matter what M.J have to say he have been a hater since. He cant stop the Jamaican. They was born naturally talent to run. They just run in everything. He rejoice when bolt false start but the question is. Could anyone of the athletes there take it? (NO). It belong to Jamaica
They were lobbing for Walter Dx. Bolt was completely honest in his reaction. This is not wall street. Johnson still my fav runner of all times, but hell he is so ,so american minded.
@SmarvoE I'm telling you, they are not tested in Jamaica. That is the problem. And there's a lot of money involved. That is why they are not tested. People make millions from them being the fastest in the world, from all the endorsement money.
Usain Bolt tested positive for Performance Enhancing Drugs in 2011 But because he is such a big star and very profitable, the IAAF decided not to make it public. Instead told him that he must false start intentionally in the final of the 100m at the 2011 World Championships. This false start would then be used to disqualify him from that final. So he did false start purposely, was disqualified and allowed to continue competing in the 200m.
@SmarvoE tested before meets? where did you hear that?? . They need to be tested several times, by surprise, while they are training. This does not happen. There is no testing body that monitors Jamaican athletes for drugs while they are training in Jamaica. That is where they are using banned drugs.
There were some people there only to see Bolt who had been attracting more people into the sport which not many care about just to see him get DQ. Because of what happened the ruling body is looking into it. Not a good policy to DQ someone at only one false start. This is only hurting the sport.
@SomeLittleShoe Funny you should say. They are tested after run. my bad. And I'm pretty sure that the Jamaica Athletics Department test them several times before a meet . I know that cause I'm an athlete myself.
@OnlineFck Absolutely agree with you. He would've if the crowd or something else caused him to false start. This way he admitted that he screwed up and and there was no whining or complaining afterwards. And I say that even though I don't like the rules (being disqualified after 1 false start). Now, on to London 2012 (hopefully with Bolt, Asafa and Gay)!
Well I see your point but steroids don't make you faster at this level they use EPO or blood doping or other cardio endurance enhancements. But his height doesn't make him fast his turnover speed coupled with his height makes him ridiculous. If a 6 foot man with the same exact same turnover speed as Bolt....Bolt will win because he has a longer stride length which means he will cover more ground
Usain should’ve never took his shirt off and dodo all of that, should’ve just act normal went back to his blocks and waited for the decision, and there was no way they would’ve disqualified him they would’ve find some way to give the whole field a warning, and there was no way Walter dix or Kim Collins were gonna win that race unless both Blake and bolt pick start
