I just discovered your channel after relligiously following Ben Patrick (KneesOverToesGuy) for the last 18 months and I am so glad that all these create information on how to change your body and mind is so freely made available by guys like you. Like seriously your book on how to increase your mobility times 10 is basically all one ever would need to know to completely undo their joint and strengh issues + most of theirr problems too, because I think that once you really get into mobility work and the whole "feel you body and be aware" thing, you just start to feel what is good for you and what is not. I learned through the last year (age 17-18) what I want in my life, what I am willing to live without in order to get what I want and also with what type of people I want to be around with / learn from and I think most of that is because all the expression through movement stuff that I have been doing. Anyways you seem like a lovely guy and just like you when you were at college I now want to get all my 3 splits, a better deep squat (I can't do full rom barbell loaded back squats without losing structural integrety after 90°) and to get to the big goals I started setting side goals like hero pose, palms to floor with straight leg. Anyways I have now signed up at a mobility class at Uni with the hopes of finding more likeminded people, that are just as interested in mobility as me. Oh and a collab between you and KOTguy would be awesome because you two are both crazy workaholics that have overcome insane predictions by doctors to reach world class ability and your field of interest. Greetings from Germany!

Thanks so much for your kind words! I can REALLY tell you've taken to heart many of my teachings from the "10x your flexibility" ebook and beyond! Kudos! What's your TOP priority out of all of your goals? I found that it is always good to narrow my focus to 1 or 2 TOP priorities. Cheers! P.S. I'd love to do a collab with Ben (KOTG) sometime. Tell him I'm down if you ever get the chance! 🙂

@@GotROM honestly my main priority with mobility and stuff right now is to find a group of like minded people that do the same in my town, rather than a specific skill. That being said my biggest goal right now is flexible enough toes, so that i can sit on the "knuckles" of my feet rather than the toes themsselves when kneeling "on my toes". I can already touch the ground with my foot, but my to extension is still not good enough for me to comfortably do so. Next big thing would be to do shoulder dislocates at arm width are narrower (Both of these goals I think I'll be able to do within two to three months. After that I can't really tell what is next but currently I am working on everything else too so I will just see what is the closest after I have done that. Regarding Ben Patrick I'll just write him a comment and link your yt channel. Hope this happens!

This came up just when I was concerned. I've noticed lately that I don't have a full range of motion with my left hip, I can walk, jog climb stairs and sit. What I can't do is lift my knee and move it out to the side, I get half way at best before I'm in pain. I have Bagan to do stretches but not progressing. So was glad to have this video thank you.

You are most welcome! Sounds like you might need to work on some hip flexion/abduction/external rotation, perhaps! We have self-assesments and routines for all of that in The FAI Fix program. Or we're happy to help you 1-on-1 (gotrom.com/vip) Cheers!

Bro! I was told the same thing in 2015. I cycled, weight training, and ran 5ks all the time. I started feeling a lil pain and went to see my doctor. I was told I had FAI and cam morphology too. I did notice deep tissue massages and stretching helped relieve the hip pain. It's all on my right hip. I'm still battling it to this day. This video was very informative to me. Thanks for the content!

My pleasure, brotha'! Are you now able to cycle/weight train/run, etc? Or how's it going? What's your biggest obstacle right now?

Nice nicely done. Very pleasantly pulled the rug out from the Ortho hip surgery gambit. And I'm very amused to see it. I have been broken field running from them or 3 years now. Strangely, while greatly restricted in my activities, I I have high hopes and there is a path to normalcy. I'm pretty well convinced total hip replacement isn't answer to some cases, but have become deeply suspicious of the bone on bone speech. Although they have pain on their side... There is hope for the uneducated, but it will be alone painful home unless you get the right information and direction. A house of mirrors. But there probably is a solution short surgery. Contrariwise, it is becoming apparent that there are total hip replacement methods which may be compared to a root canal, therefore making one's struggle against the medical Mafia, almost moot.

I used FAI program and it’s great, and will use it again. I did have surgery to replace my hip. Best decision ever. There are reasons to use both in many cases.
@GotROM
@GotROM 11 месяцев назад
Yes, indeed! Always a time and place for both non surgical and surgical options. And, I think most people haven’t fully explored non surgical options as deeply as those options can go. 😊
@rayleslie354

when doctors or laypeople say “bone on bone” that’s usually referring to advanced osteoarthritis/degenerative changes as opposed to “bony impingement” which does not necessarily imply anything about the state of the labrum and articular cartilage. Bony impingement should not be conflated with “bone on bone” like it was in this video. Of course scans do not always correlate with reported symptoms of pain. I think that is a very important message because surgery should not be taken lightly. A person could manage very well with nasty looking imaging. I did not read these studies myself, but I would be interested to know the percentage of abnormal findings in symptomatic vs asymptotic to see if there is any correlation there. Unless there was no difference in that group, they should have been reported in this video. It is not your job to do my research, but since you already read the studies, perhaps you could reply. Thank you :)

Hello, thanks for the video. It really helped a lot but I’ve been doing the Fai fix program for 3 weeks and I’m still experiencing have pain. I have trouble identifying what is actually causing my popping in my hips. Does doing the program with still deep pain and going through stretches with multiple popping in the hips matter, because is getting out of hand with the popping and frustrating making it seems there’s no progress. I feel like giving up because it just feels like I’m not seeing results. Any advice

Hi @quadrixxx6064! Sorry for missing this question. Yes, you can still work with the program at the same time be sure to modify the stretches if it causes pain. Usually the first few weeks will be uncomfortable and it will be okay in time. If it's still bothering you, let us know and contact us at support@gotrom.com.

Have you tried a softball or "body wedge" tool on the psoas? What about the Jack Knobber II tool on the glutes? Also, there's a couple vids on this channel for internal rotation. Have you checked those out? Let me know! :-)

@@GotROM I do use the softball from time to time to see how much I can get it to release. I have not used a " body wedge " I've never heard of that. I'll have to look that up along with the Jack Knobber II tool. Thank you a lot for the suggestions! I'm going to look into them both today.

I'm working with a few people 1-on-1 with no (or almost no) cartilage, and they are still able to improve. One lady is 71 and has been limping for over 15 years, but her limp is less, and her ROM is improving too. Just takes some patience, persistence, and a detailed/personalized plan of action. Hope that helps!
