@@RobsRILife no she was just a poor delusional girl who thought love would save her like In the movies but also like in the movies she got shot to bits for her love
Bonnie was actually a straight A student before she married her husband, whom she never officially divorced BTW. One of the men that opened fire at the ambush frequented the Cafe that Bonnie worked at before meeting Clyde just to see her.
@@daviddepoe7942 you mean ted hinton ? he did state he had a crush on bonnie and would visit her at the cafe to see her. dunno if he was present during this particular shooting but he did participate on their murder and capture on may 1934, saying it was specially hard to do so since he had known clyde since they were kids and, as we stated, had a crush on bonnie.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has a museum at their Headquarters at Jefferson City Mo. Included are most of the weapons found in the house at Joplin. Actually, it's a pretty amazing collection. Also the Joplin Shootout house is still standing, it survived the Joplin Tornado.
A great video! Thank you! I never saw these things, nor knew what happened to all of their other stuff left behind. I enjoy coming across little tips on those in the gangster era that are different. I came across in a book in recent years that Blanche was into jigsaw puzzles, a popular craze during the Depression. BTW, I thought you read Bonnie's poem real good. I think she was a pretty good writer.
this video is awesome!! i adore the story of bonnie and clyde i find it so fascinating. Thanks to you i have found out so much more. I’m from England and because of you i would of never found out about their story. You are the best ❤
Your videos are amazing. My girlfriend and I love watching them. I just recently purchased Jeff Guinn's book and I am hooked on it. It is a very good read. I just visited the Joplin Hideout and the Museum. Really interesting stuff for sure.
I recently sat down and watched the 1967 movie; it was only 4.99 on amazon and I am glad it wasn't much more lol It was almost comical the inaccuracies in that movie. I just started reading Jeff Guinn's book, and I was pointing out the things they got wrong to my fiancé lol.
Very interesting..Thank you, alot of what you presented in the video I was not aware of alot the small unknown things Ive not read and watched about Bonnie and Clyde so far..I love anything about Bonnie and Clyde and these interesting tidbits are great to know...
Thank you so much! There are six videos in the series so I hope you were able to watch them all. I will probably make more videos about them in the future so I hope you will consider subscribing so you don’t miss it, and I do videos on lots of interesting subjects.
My mom had a camera like that. I have no idea how she could take pictures with it. No matter how many ways I tried to see through it I couldn't see a damned thing.
True crime from a long time ago is interesting. I wonder if the victims families are as interested as us lookieloos? An interview with a dead cops relative might shed some light on a different point of view? In my home area some years back a couple guys gunned down a deputy sheriff and one of them placed a kill shot in the back of his head after dropping him with 6 or so shots to his torso. Those two monsters died of natural causes in Oregon State Prison and that poor Lane County Deputy Sheriff so many years later is all but forgotten.
Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper at the Joplin shootout stated Bonnie was firing a weapon at him, as he was behind a Tree. Check Missouri Highway Patrol history.
His name was *G.B. Kahler.* Yes, *Bonnie* most definitely took part in the Joplin shootout -- and other times during their two-year spree. The fact is, *Bonnie* was one of the original *Barrow gang* members, along with *Clyde,* *Ralph Fults,* and *Raymond Hamilton.* Thus, she was not useless in times of crisis. When she herself was not firing a weapon, she was usually (re)loading the bullets. She did not just stand by and do nothing. She was known to be cool-headed during the gunfights, unlike Blanche. In the past twenty years or so, some people (mainly liberal writers who sympathize with them) have been trying to rewrite their history. According to them, *Bonnie* was just a ride-along girlfriend who never fired a gun, and *Clyde* only shot in self-defense. 🙄
@@Chapin-pc2kz I'm catching a lot of that sympathy and a great deal of romanticizing in this reporting. I find it troubling to be honest. My mother lived in Texas during this time and I remember she and my other family members talking about the hell Bonnie and Clyde raised and some having actually encountered them. They were NOT nice people. I have an old black and white photo of my mother.....she was in her late teens, dressed up as Bonnie with a cigar and revolver, posed in front of a car, replicating that iconic picture. It gives me the creeps to look at it. I can't understand anyone caring if Bonnie gets to be buried next to Clyde...I wonder if she can name any of the victims of these two animals.
@@Kat-gx3se they were not animals they lived during the great depression you act if the law was without its own skeletons remember lawman in these times were members of the klu Klux Klan and often killed blacks for nothing Clyde Barrow was Sodomized in jail as a teen by a white man and lived in a transient camp and starved as a boy in West Dallas i doubt you have ever gone hungry in your life or know what true poverty was like only God can judge these people remember if you are without sin then cast a stone but i doubt it these people were criminals yes but they were murdered in a ambush cause of death is homicide look that word up in a dictionary
@@joelmonkley6177 Gotcha ...2 wrongs make a right. Yes I realize they lived during the great depression.....as did my mother and her whole family. They did not resort to robbing banks and killing people.
Thank you so much. I have seven episodes on Bonnie and Clyde and hope you found the others. I have covered some shootouts and robberies no one else ever does. Thanks for watching!
My boss is actually Tom DeGraff's great nephew and he said Tom was shot in the leg at the shootout and actually tripped trying to head for cover and played dead to redirect Clydes gunfire. It apparently worked.
These people were so tough. I was shot 3 times in 2016 in a failed robbery my pic there is one of the bullets they left in my chest and I cut it out. Now, it was right under the skin which was dying around it so it was painless. But I could not imagine having to care for my wounds. I couldn't even get up. I thought I was going to die there all by myself. I took one in my arm and the bruising was so bad it was almost impossible. I guess when you're adrenalin is flowing it's alot easier but still. EXELLENT video as usual. I would have never seen these if not for you. Thank you so very much.
Wow, thank you for sharing that unique perspective. I’m so sorry you went through that. I have been accused numerous times by commenters of “glamorizing” Bonnie and Clyde. I actually think what they mean is “how dare you make a video about Bonnie and Clyde” because there was nothing glamorous about their existence, and I have never said there was. They were often miserable, dirty and wounded. And Clyde tended to rely on small robberies to get just enough to keep moving. There is no glamour here. Thank you so much for your comment and I am so glad you fully recovered. With that round in your chest I am shocked they left it if it was so close to the surface but I have read that the vast majority of the time doctors do not remove bullets, which is surprising.
@@MMorbid yes they leave the ones that don't pose a threat thank you for your kind words also the hospital won't let you keep the bullets they take out. Yeah nothing glamorous about being an outlaw. However it is very interesting , how they lived, how they escaped so many gunfights you deliver that interest. Clyde was evil.what they did in Temple tx. Is heartbreaking stating the facts is not glamorizing it.
Thank you so much for watching! My new video posting tomorrow takes place in London, it is a biography of Polly Nichols. Jack the Ripper gets no attention, just Polly’s life. I’m going to cover all of his victims. I hope you check it out!
wow, an actual reply from somebody famous . thank you you made my day... i am a subscriber and big fan i like all of your subjects. we have the same interests. you do a great job.
I have not, I haven’t been there yet but I definitely want to do that on site if I can, so stay tuned. It’s about a 6 hour drive so I have no idea when I might make the trip.
Great video. Love them both I don’t even care. Clyde never wanted to kill anyone. He just had to do what he had to do, he even put scratches on his gun for each man he killed. There were seven marks on his gun. I wouldn’t even be afraid to meet them
I found it rather amusing that mrs Buck Barrow left behind her purse. Containing their marriage license & Bucks pardon papers.after the shoot out at the apartment.
Sorry, they weren't kids & killing all of those law enforcement officers is not small beans. It seems like you're downplaying their crimes. If this were to happen today, the newspapers would be calling them monsters.
I feel the same way, Most accounts have Bonnie, Clyde, and the Barrow Gang responsible for about fifteen armed bank robberies, yet some of these banks were robbed more than once. They were believed to have also committed 13 murders . That’s not small potatoes to me!
I agree, especially since the police kept it. If it was stolen wouldn’t you think they would return it to the store instead of keeping it for themselves?
Ma Barker's reputation as a gun wielding criminal mastermind was a complete and total farcical fabrication created by J.Edgar Hoover and his boys as a way to attempt to justify their slaughter of a very elderly woman down in Florida. A quote by Alvin Karpis regarding Ma was "The old gal couldn't plan breakfast".
It’s just costume jewelry so I don’t know how “expensive” it would have been. If it was diamonds I can see stealing it might be worth it, but drawing unwanted attention over costume jewelry doesn’t make sense to me. They often paid for goods and services when they had the money and would give money to people that helped them for their trouble. But I guess we’ll never know for sure.
@@griswald7156 Since they definitely acquired the jewelry in Joplin it’s possible she never got a chance to wear it. They were in Joplin for just under two weeks and didn’t leave the apartment much, and of course had to abandon everything.
