BOOK TREK 2024: The Wrath of Summer of Trek
BOOK TREK is an annual event where we read, discuss, and celebrate Star Trek fiction! To participate, pick up a Star Trek book and read it, it’s that simple. We also have two optional away missions to get the full experience. This year’s BOOK TREK will run through June, July, and August of 2024.
THE MAIN MISSION
Read one or more books of Star Trek fiction.
AWAY MISSIONS (Optional)
1. Read a nonfiction science book.
2. Read a book about, inspired by, or somehow connected to Star Trek (biography, production history, etc.)
We will use the hashtag #BookTrek2024

Hooray! I'm looking forward to this reading event. Basking in the Summer sun with a glass of ice tea reading Trek is quite an enjoyable experience. 📚🖖
@DanielsBibliophagy
Look forward to this.

Great announcement with some awesome recommendations. I’m looking forward to getting going with this event and my video will appear soon! Thanks for having me aboard again Vin.
@BooklessPete
I do have ONE on my Kindle, so I can participate while still sticking to my "read what you own challenge," Hurray! I think I can probably dig up a non-fic science book somehow...
@LiterateTexan
I'm so excited about this!
@AaronReadABook
Yay happy this is back, I have a few books I've been saving for this.
@susanknoss1237
I love booktrek! Look forward to it every year!
@RaynorReadsStuff
Oh I definitely want to play. My dad was a huge fan and introduced me to the original series. I’ve enjoyed all the series since but I’ve never read a Star Trek book. I will look forward to this one. Absolutely love your memorabilia 😊
@GreatBooksGuy
I have an absurdly massive Star Trek book collection from TOS, TNG, and DS9. I have been slowly working my way through them -excited for Wrath of Summer of Trek!

Hi Vin. I am a relatively new book tuber, so this will be my first Book Trek, but I am definitely in. I have a lot of really old Star Trek books from the original series, which I watched as a little kid. I am really excited about participating in this event this summer.
@Readeropolis
Count me in! I have my books out and I am ready to read.
@pleasereadyourbook
Time for me to jump into this!
@Cobaltdragon
Congratulations on year 4 of the event 👍 I have been going to my thrift store to find Trek books as I unhauled years ago 🫣🙄 Today super excited as I found Alan Dean Foster series, all but 1 of the 10 books, original Star Trek 💕💕💕 Won’t be unhauling them this time. Started Probe the other day, 1 of my 2 previous finds on my last visit. Also have my astronomy books ready to go, happy to be part of the event.
@StephanieJCohen
I have a few new Star Trek books so will be happy to participate once again.
@MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm
Soooo stoked for this!! I’m a big fan that tends to lean towards TNG as my favorite iteration. I think I’m going to try and tackle the TNG books from the first on and see how far I manage to get. 🖖❤️

So happy to have found this! I recently started going to the Star Trek Verse chronologically so this is a great to join in with other Star Trek fans. Also, Kahless is exceptional.

Oh, this is amazing. I am an avid fan of Star Trek, and for over a year, I've been reading TOS novels (which was my entry into Trek...with syndication. I was born in 1966, and when syndication became a thing, we watched Star Trek: TOS every weekday at dinnertime. I owned all 79 VHS tapes of the series, and watched them into my adulthood. SO, hearing about

I'm looking forward to joining you this year. Right now, I'm reading Picard: The Last Best Hope and listening to Patrick Stewart's autobiography on Spotify. After that, I'm going to sample books from the various eras of Star Trek, probably starting at the very beginning with James Blish. I'm considering making a separate booktube channel for the occasion but I haven't decided yet.
@spreadbookjoy
I bought a book for this last year and didn’t get to it, but will definitely do that this summer. I read some TNG fiction when I was younger (my fave too!) and I often wonder if I will still enjoy it. I saw an amazing OG Star Trek book with a fantastic cover in a charity shop last year and picked it up for this and GarbAugust. Really looking forward to this!
@DDB168
I'm always up for the away missions (I read that genre all the time), but the normal mission, hmmmm. I've had a bad run in recent years with booktrek. I'll give Federations a go. You get 10's of views? Wow I'd kill for that.
