Install and review of the Booster Plug. Very big improvement noticed. My bike is also running a NGK Iridium plug. Both make the ride even better on my Himalayan.
These are the best and clearest videos for servicing that I have ever seen... Clearly you put a lot of thought and preparation. Thank you for taking the trouble
Good Video! why is the Compass blinking ? For 2023 model the engine has the same tuning as the scrambler 411 eliminating starting issues and the need for that idle lever.
I did one of these on my tu250x. Significant improvement. Even more so with a k&n filter and muffler installed. I wonder how it would work on one of these?
HAVE YOU REPLACED THE FACTORY PLUG WITH THE NGK IRIDIUM CR8EIX 4218 PLUG? I BOUGHT ONE BUT WITH ONLY 200 MILES ON THE ENGINE I WILL WAIT A COUPLE OF HUNDRED MILES. THANKS FOR THE DETAILED VIDEO... JOHN IN CO.
I also installed the NGK Iridium plug a few thousand kilometers ago. This also helped a lot. Especially in low RPMs. And it also leads to a better overall performance with smoother engine running and harmonic power development. It feels like having more torque. Installation of the Iridium plug was a very good decision. Now i am going to install the Boosterplug. Let’s see if it even gets better…
A lot more of mission putting booster plug on than on Interceptor. On Interceptor takes about 1min no tank removal. They are good richens up the fuel so it not so lean & perfect in hot conditions letting ECU thinking it's 10° colder so great in summer.
If the Himalayan is set up to run lean in order to pass emissions testing, and the booster plug makes the bike run richer, aren't you at risk of not passing an emissions test?
Booster loops the fuel signal so it adds more fuel - these bikes run very lean and hot from factory (especially the fuel injection models) so I’d recommend the booster as it mends the real issue.
@@EC-M4X Ok so if I understand correctly : By loosening the idle-RPM screw, I just increase idle air intake, and injectors adjust to it. RPM increase but the mixture ratio is still lean. With the booster plug, the whole ratio is corrected to a bit less lean. RPM is the same but the engine doesn't stall.
Just using the choke lever (fast idle circuit) didn’t work on my 2021 Himalayan. It would start run for a while and then stall several times before fully warmed. Often it would stall at lights or when stopped in traffic. Dealer had it ten weeks. It runs much better now but is still running lean.
Isn't it awkward working on stuff with all that man-jewlery, spent years servicing farm equipment didn't wear wedding ring nor watch was afraid it'd get snagged & loose fingers
