omg every member of this band is so good...guitarists share leads(good ones)...drummer is a madman...bassist has taps in there and the vox sounded sick this album they're so damn good
@@doomzy8622 it's a lot more than that. Go try the lead fills in Follow the Signs. By the way a gallop is not the same as a triplet. A triplet is all 16th notes for each beat while a gallop is an eighth before/after two sixteenth notes. Gallops are what people use in breakdowns. And go play Devastate and tell me that's just all breakdowns. You don't even know shit about music obviously 😂
The only reason there's a Periphery instrumental album is because Misha already had already self-produced a shit ton of material before they had a vocalist. There was never an official instrumental album release.
***** Born of Osiris are beginning to go downhill anyway. Lee is the only guitarist at concerts and its obvious he isn't practice, as much as he should anyways. The point I was trying to make was not that Ronnie can't sing, since a lot of folks think Sotelo sucks, I can see why you would assume that's what I meant. If indeed it is what you assumed. I personally love the vocals but some of my friends find the screaming ''weird'' and they can't hear the genius buried under the screaming, if you know what I mean. Wanted to sample of a few songs too.
Jason has the impressive melodies, not so technical and over the top that it's incomprehensible. Lee has soul in his though, those bends and the more simple but well-spoken notes. They were a power duo.
Sucks Jason isn't with them anymore, this album was special. TWDA was Alright, but you could tell the songwriting took a backseat. Maybe that's what they wanted...
Just look at BOO and Chelsea grin before Jason joined.... Decent... Then Bam great guitar work and programming. and then he leaves and the bands are just shit again.
Nah, BoO were fucking sick before Jason too. When he joined the were in their own level. Open Arms to Damnation, Sights and Sounds, Abstract Art were fucking sick.
Those songs were undeniably great for the time. But then the next album "A Higher Place" was just ok. They only really showed progress once jason came and then when he left they went back to the same old thing.
The Discovery is definitely BOO’s best album and would have never been created without Jason. But with that said, BOO is far from shit since. Tomorrow We Die Alive and Soulsphere are great albums.
you guys got me into metal. so much creativity and talent. i cant wait to finally experience you live at the All Stars Tour!!! and it's awesome the drummer's got a bearded dragon =]
why did Jason get kicked out? he was such a talented awesome guitarist, in my opinion, i think he was the one that made The Discovery such an amazing album.
it's a flutter, you hit either just one note or you could hit the same note twice on two strings, or even two notes, one a half step higher than the next and put pressure on the trem bar and slide your finger off the end of it so that it pops back up into place and it will vibrate when it gets back to original position causing a fluttery sound.
That guitar Lee is playing is a John Petrucci (Dream Theatre) signature Ernie Ball. I have the same guitar in six-string, same "Mystic Dream" paint job and everything.
