@@BethThereseReacts OF COURSEEEE!!! ❤️ and BAHAHAHA im so glad i helped!! 🥰 ur reaction to this album is everything!! so excited for artpop because it’ll blow ur mind 👀
for this whole era, gaga was inspired by aliens, biblical beings, 80s hookers, the streets of new york city, human rights [...] she just wanted to make a powerful statement, no longer craving 'the fame', this album is about rebellion and freedom. on the album cover u see gaga as this hybrid/cyborg being, half human and half machine, reflecting the reality/fantasy dichotomy. it's meant to symbolize that she's a vehicle for her artistic visions and for her fans. born this way saved countless lives, young kids felt far more confident about their queerness, their fashion, their fragility and strength to the world.
Born This Way era was when Gaga released the Fame perfume that reached 1B+ dollars in earnings, created the BTW Foundation to gather money to help young people in need, met Obama to talk about bullying, traveled the whole world in tour, came to Brazil for the first time, was threatened with a terrorist attack, faced homophobic protests in Indonesia, was almost arrested in Russia for speaking about LGBTQ+ rights, sold out a show in the biggest stadium in the world in Africa, had beef with Madonna (who sang a mashup of BTW+Express Yourself in her tour to imply that Gaga copied her song) and finally broke her hip and had to stay in a wheelchair made of 24k gold for some months. Damn, those were good times 😭
#Americano was written for Mexico, it talks about border laws and gay marriage. It is techno-mariachi and the song was sung for the first time in Guadalajara, Mexico. The album was produced by the mexican producer Fernando Garibay.
Fun Fact: Bad kids was written by Gaga from stories and letters her fans would send to her the song is like her telling her fans she loves them regardless of who they are and that she wants her fans to accept who they are an embrace it!
@@BethThereseReacts you’re review was great though! I think a lot of people will hear this album and think it’s like non stop and really left field, but I think it definitely was conceptualized to be rebellious and angry and powerful. It has layers to it with the beginning being a bit more tough and callous and then more vulnerable in the end, she really somehow wrote music and organized it as a journey of coming out and potentially coming of age. I think it was an artistic choice and maybe not really for main stream, I think you’ll enjoy artpop a lot when you get around to it
it is in fact a very deep album and it has a lot of themes, many people misunderstand it and think it's about just being born who you are and that's it, it's really abou being born again and gain, being reborn countless times endlessly until you find the most authentic and true version of yourself that is most close to your heart, in that way is about becoming yourself rather than just being yourself.
Born This Way was released at a time where a lot of us needed to be told that it’s okay to be who we are. The overall message of self love, freedom, and equality resonated with all of us and is the reason why this album literally changed and saved many lives. Including mine. Born This Way is truly a masterpiece 🦄 Get ready for ARTPOP 😜 It’s a full on techno EDM party album! Truly underrated!
This album… so much to talk about. I’ll keep my comment brief: this album was the ticket to liberation and self-acceptance for a lot of people. Especially in the LGBTQ+ community. Absolutely iconic! ✨
15:20 this was literally me in the Born This Way Ball Tour when she came to Brazil (she opens the show with this song and I almost fainted when she came out in a FUCKING BLACK UNICORN!!!!)
4:12 The voice is the voice of her then bodyguard.GaGa said she liked his voice so much she had to implement it in the song 12:09 this album has lots of biblical connotations and in particular bloody mary is about Mary Magdalene and the story of her being a prostitute but then being saved by Jesus from getting stoned to death. The lyrics "I'll dance with my hands above my head like Jesus said" are then kind of counterproductive since Jesus saved her from it "when you're gone I'll still be bloody mary" this is written from the perspective of Mary Magdalene seeing Jesus nailed on the cross but still having "sin" in her heart to continue with the prostitution.GaGa wanted this song to sound scary and ominous so she implemented her scream and a male choir singing her name.If you have the time, check out the fan made music video for it.It looks so good and I genuinely believed it was real for a short period of time.I'm glad you enjoyed this song as much as I did :)
this album sounds so unique cause it has tons of metal and rock influences in it fused with electronic pop and it works perfectly with the themes of this album and the biblical references that are all over the album
You know what would be amazing and totally unique and never done before? If you reacted to a concert! The Monster Ball at Madison Square Garden is COMPLETELY INSANE! There's also a professional recording of the ArtRave: The ARTPOP Ball on RU-vid and even an edit of the Born This Way Ball Tour (made with fan videos). It could be like a movie reaction: you watch it all and put the highlights in the video, with a miniature of the video in a corner maybe blurred or mirrored so you can avoid copyright problems. It's just an idea of course, I just want people to see the spectacle that is a Lady Gaga concert.
Well it's because it's actually true, all the sounds of ARTPOP are from top to bottom unexpected and experimental, Born this way is experimental but definitely not her most one
Love this reaction! Idk if anyones mentioned it but fun fact: “Fashion of His Love” is a reworked/finished version of her unreleased song “Earthquake” and i think bc I got so attached to it I prefer the unreleased version!
Fashion of His Love was a love song in the memory of her dear friend Lee Alexander McQueen, the fashion designer that took his life after his mother passed away. He is the guy that designed the crazy outfit and shoes in the “walk walk fashion baby” part of the bad romance video
Yo reacted to "The Queen" exactly the way I wanted you to react; not that you care about my reaction of your reaction, but it's tremendously satisfying when that happens :)
OMG i'm so happy that you started Lady Gaga journey. I've been waiting for this to come. she'll give you anything you've ever asked for with her music and performances I'm telling you... If not Lady Gaga I don't know who I even would be, she's such an inspiring artist and person.
my favourite side tracks: government hooker, scheibe, fashion of his love, highway unicorn. BUT I LOVE ALL THE TRACKS! SUCH A UNIQUE ALBUM. I LOVE LADY GAGA FOR MAKING THIS ALBUM HAPPEN🥰
We have the same top 2 ! Been listening to this album since it came out and Bloody Mary and Heavy Metal Lover are both my favorite GaGa songs of all time
I love that you enjoyed this album! It really sounds different to what we are used to but it truly was an experience. I relived my experience with you throughout this video! Thank you so much, can't wait for the rest of the albums!! Will you be doing a star is born (perhaps a movie reaction), in case you haven't seen it?
when reacting to ARTPOP make sure to listen to Do What You Want ft. Christina Aguilera, the original version with R kelly was unlisted from all streaming platforms in 2019 bcz of his scandal. it was listed after MANiCURE if u wanna listen in order, it's rly good and has a great message
I can't listen to Americano without thinking of the Glee mashup with I Wanna Dance by JLo because my brain is (happily) possessed by Glee, so it feels strange listening to it in its original guitar flavor 😂
Beth, if you have listened to Britney's Gimme More, you will notice the huge resemblance between Government Hooker and Gimme More in terms of the sound and the production. New Subscriber!!!
