I have done some search and one tube creator Hardware Junkie has many videos about The topic. And o tryied also that Arduino simulator and it is indeed possible to wake up battery from sleep state with Arduino but i dont know are The bike willing to wake up without hands shake with battery Even If battery is awake and giving output to bike.... I Have Been thinking to take old bosch bms micro controller and put it inside The Power tube bms board but i have no all hardware to do that experiment.. If would have old työ Bosch battery then i would Be able to digg things More and do More testing

Mabye you can. But it would not be easy task to do because balancing board and main pcb is kinda attached to that end cap where are that battery indicator and outlet connector. Sorry for delay in my reply but i can check that tomorrow because i have both of those batteries at bench and see are they Cross compatible

I think you can. Offcource you have to push out battery pack and take off battery power button and capacity led indicator wire. But it is in quiq terminal in pcb. And same thing with battery communication wires. There is also connector on pcb. But main wires to output connector is needed to desolder from pcb witch is pain in ass or then just cutoff and rejoin with solder and heatshrink between the battery pack and end cap. There is plenty room for this

yea but offcourse i woud need dumb from working battery that i have something what to flash in. it is mabye possible to read memory to pc but it might be nearly imbossible to find right entry point in memory where the defective bit is stored without working battery dumb... and offcourse there is jtag in pcb but it would be better way to gain acces to flash with that battery outer communication terminals

It should not be dificult to insert charger plug to battery... check that there is not any junk on battery Port... and i assume that battery Will use same contacts when inserted Nike frame. So If battery fits to bike there should not be Anu reason why charger won't fit. Check that chrger plug contacts are not bended.

I have been busy when shooted new videos but this project is kind a hold position now. Some viewer linked some guy who are able to fix theese. But furure plans for this project is open battery again and i will try to read eprom program to pc. And then put it back together and try to send it to bosch service if they would do faultcode diag and unlock the battery. And if they unbrick the bat i will open it and read eprom again. Then in theory i could be able to compare binary dumbs and see what is changed when bricked or unbricked. But this method will reguire battery opening to complete. But 3/3 what i have opened has suffered component breakdown in pcb so if repair is wanted you must open battery anyway. But this is so far in theory and i will try it in near future

I assume that is because battery is not programmed to bike. There is handshake protocol between battey and bike amd of they dont match battery won't turn on. You should visit with bike and batterys on bosch bike service and they can program them if battery is not broken

I have seen youtube videos from older versions off battery and there bms was powered with lab powersuply meanwhile baytery was under repair. And i think that powertube is really hard to re cell because mechanical construction is so unique. I can make new followup video to see if it can be done or nit

@@ElectronicMechanicFinland I am very interested in this topic since I am dedicated to the repair of lithium batteries and both the Bosch and the specialized ones maintain the same method of construction. I think it wont work. Without hand shake with canbus protocol there is no way to get battery turned on

It might be. I contacted directly to Bosch and made My self clear that chip what is blown is cabable to handle 36v what is battery Nominal voltage. Not fully charged 42v and what i have seen The failure action is always same.. bike worked just fine and then after ride putted to charger and next ride the bike is dead. It supports My theory that Max charged battery is over The chip rated Max voltage..... But bosch just made clear that i Woid warranty and there is risk off fire and blaablaablaaaaa. I have hot swapped one off that kind chip but battery still bliks fault code. I have been going to take battery to Bosch repair dealer to diagnostic If fault is resettable. I can post reply off The battery wakes from dead after pc diagnose

Yea. It is fustrating that bms is locking down when abnormal battery state is dected. But another Hand battery is pretty safe to use and fire risk is really low. So i kind a understand why they did that lock

Yea that is what i have heard too.. but on powertubes it is not broblem because i have dissambled three batterys and all off yhen had Component failure on pcb and cels are minut condition.

I changed one bms canbus trans reciver chip and now batt blinks some error code. It needs bosch computer software for diagnose. So no progress

Why bother? Inside off microcontroller have rom or flash memory area for store programming off device and i have no orginal sorce code for that. Offcource it migh be possible to reinvent the whole micro controller functionality and write totally new code but it would be extremely difficult

Bosch makes good bread toasters and washing machines but rest off produktion idunno
