they really need to fix the L1 pro 16 wooble connector. until then im still hoping bose will do something to fix the wooble problem. greetings from las vegas nevada.
Bought l1 compact a few years ago ... then bought another ...lost sound as soon as you're in a busy pub .... bought F1'S top and bottoms .... big bulky heavy awkward cabling etc .... but good sound .... on the strength of this vid I've just bought 2 L32 plus two sub 2's .... hope they deliver on sound vs quality plus easier on the old back ! Great reviewer on here ...clear concise with no B/S ... I applaud you 👏
I bought the pro 32 and Damn… unbelievable what……….. still can’t believe the power of this thing… I did a outdoor gig and it put my regular pa to shame… unbelievable
For Karaoke yes I use the L1 model 2 and have just bought the L1pro 16. Best system for karaoke I owned has been the L1 model 2. But I don’t use it just for that. Every other all in one PA system for live feeds back where that issue is minute with the Bose. Behringer, Mackie, TOA, Phonic and Fender passport all I’ve owned and are horrible
A pro16 is good for a solo situation in a smaller venue. Just less to carry, by far. A coffee shop gig with 15-20 patrons doesn’t need the pro32. Yet, you still have to schlepp all of that extra power around, night after night… If you have a larger gig of up to 150, then you MUST have the Pro32 in order to be heard properly. I own 3 Pro32s, but I do consider obtaining a pro 16 for the smaller venue dates…
Thanks so much for the video. I'm in a duo..but also use a bunch of backing tracks..we thus have vocals, guitar. bass...keys...synth sounds like used for the Final Countdown and Organs eg. Animals House of Rising sun. We play up to around 100 people at the moment...but still early days. I'm debating between the 16 and the 32 with sub 1 (Bit tempted by Sub 32 with sub 2...but do wonder if that is just throwing money away and adding weight.) 2 years on...would you buy a 16 a 32 sub 1 or 2...or even something else?? I do like the form factor of these kind of systems...and the Bose does seem great in other reviews I've read. Thanks for any comment if you have a moment.
Two years on I would consider the LD Maui 28G3 mix. It is not available at the moment but does sound promising and is expected to arrive sometime in 2024
Thanks man, great to hear both sides of your thinking (the other negative video ALMOST swayed me off getting the Pro32)! What's your setup for transporting the Pro32? I'm thinking to get 2 columns and 1 sub2, but unlike the Pro16 there is no clear bag solution. Cheers!
Thanks so much for this review. I’m going to purchase the pro 32 but a bit unsure about whether to go for a sub 1 or sub 2. I intend to use for a trio doing medium size gigs, and some outdoors. Ideally I’d prefer the sub 2 but a bit worried about the weight as not getting any younger! One idea was to get a sub 1 and add a second sub 1 at a later date if needed. Any thoughts? Thanks again
Glad you've asked this question Kate as I'm beginning to think the sub2 is just too much. Not in weight but I'm constantly cutting the sub level back, I find it overbearing on the whole sound/mix. I mainly listen to the PA with eq off but in other eq settings it is still too much. If you listen to my sound demo upload it is quite "low frequency heavy" and in that demo it was cut back. Since then I've listened to the radio through the PA and many types of music and I've come to the conclusion that the sub2 is over the top and not a good match. I really do think that the sub1 (although I've never heard how it sounds) would be a better partnership for the Pro32
Dang bro you sold me on the 32 I have a s1 now but want more power I was going to get the 16 but ima wait a few months and get the 32 thanks for your help 🥃👍
The Bose l1 pro 32s1 is what I have. I heard there are stability issues with the Tower with the l16 model and glad I didn't purchase that one. Very happy with my current system and also purchase the mixer T8S. The only thing I can say is Bose include a very flimsy almost paper like cover for the S1 sub which is a real shame considering the cost 🤑🤑🤑
This is how bose operate. Luc, ONLY 3 channels on a $3000 PA. They forced you to buy a t4 or t8. Then give you a flimsy plastic bag for the sub, again forcing you to buy their $300 protective sub trolley. Tragic!!! rather than "clever" business ethics!!. 👎🏻
Thank you for the info..! I was about to get Bose L1 pro 16 for karaoke when I heard you said about the system for karaoke is better than Bose l1 pro. If You mind share some info about karaoke system?
Thanks for this video. This is the kind of information I needed. BOSE literature says a lot while actually NOT really saying anything at all. I've been using an L1 model II + (2)B1 subs for years now and it's finally dying after probably close to 1000 shows (mostly outside in the Florida heat and humidity). Do you know if the older original legacy tonematch mixer works with these new units? I'm sure it doesn't because why the hell should it? But I thought I'd ask. The new one's don't work with the old towers. Pretty sure I'm going to go with the pro32 + sub1 as I do mostly acoustic solo performances. I too made a similar mistake of buying an L1 Compact back in the day, then a second one because it wasn't quite enough. Then realizing I was an idiot and selling them BOTH and getting the L1 Model II. Don't want to make that mistake again.
@@opaz. Thanks for the reply. I found some information indicating that the T1 ToneMatch WILL indeed work with the new systems. We shall see, as I just ordered the pro32 + sub1 system. I want to save my pennies for a T8 ToneMatch. Thanks again for these videos.
@@opaz. Just to follow up, in case any interested parties happen upon this thread, the ToneMatch T1 mixer only "partially" works with the new Pro32 system. The T1 mixer accepts power from the Pro32 ONLY. It will NOT convey any audio. You must run a standard audio line from the mixer to one of the inputs on the Pro32 (1/4in, XLR… whatever). According to Bose the original T1 mixer audio is based on S/PDIF technology. The new Pro systems (along with the T4S and T8S mixers) utilize a proprietary Bose audio format. After looking long and hard at the new mixers, there is no net gain in functionality for me invest in one while my T1 still functions. Yes, they offer some new features but they are ones I don't need or wouldn't realistically use. Basically I'd be spending $700 to not have to run that audio line. Beyond that, the new systems are much more friendly to 3rd party mixers so if you can live without the ToneMatch presets (I can), why bother at all if you already own half a dozen other mixers (I do)? Otherwise, the Pro32 is bloody amazing!
JAS Productions .. i had FBT VERTUS , RCF EVOX8 , Bose L1 ll with 4x B1 T1 , Never Satisfied with the Low Punch . So now owning db T ES1203 and much happier than before. ES1203 has good punchy Low and crispy mids n highs.. but i got the same itchy feeling to upgrade like u 🤓 * have u heard the Bose Pro32 with a Sub2 single or Pair .. if so hows the sound ?? Hows the Punchy Low end on Sub2 ? Compared to db T 1203 and Bose F1 System ???? Which model below are more powerful with Deep punchy Bass ???? Note I’m concerning on the low end more cause I know all the models will produce mids n highs very good... Bose Pro 32 n Sub2 ? Db T ES1203. ? F1 System ??
@@lasa6619 I have owned it all. The Pro 32 with Sub 2 absolutely beats the 1203, and the low end so much more rich and deep. The 1203 sucks for hip hop and modern music. It's good for rock or live bands.
If you had to choose at this point between the pro 16 versus the JBLPRX one what would you say sounded better , and also Which one would you say had more power to reach more people?
Hi, Thanks for posting this informative video. I noticed the subwoofer driver is the same on pro 16 and pro32 sub2. Does the sub2 on pro32 sound alot louder than pro16. Or slightly louder. Iam debating to get 2 pro16 or 1 pro32 with sub2? Please advise which setup will sound louder. Thanks
Hello OPAZ, Im From Mexico, if you were to buy one or another. Would you buy 1 piece of L1 Pro 32 or 2 pieces of L1 pro 16? I do events for 100 people aprox.
Hello. I just bought a pair of L1 pro 32. I am very satisfied with the sound quality and power output but I have some questions If you could enlight me. I play as a DJ and I am connecting my console to the second channel (XLR Cable) of the speaker. I hear extensive hiss sound from the speakers even at low levels (around 4 to 5 LEDs) even with no cable connected. Secondly, I can't found if the speaker provides any protections such us overdrive limiter, thermal protection etc. I was playing and I had my eyes on the Led not to turn red. So if I rent the speakers and another Dj could play too loud is there an overdrive limiter that protects my speakers or they explode? Thank you in advance.
Maybe you need to check all equipment individually for the hiss or connect different speakers I would expect that there is some protection/limiter to protect your pa
Si la verdad son excelentes equipos ambos, auqnue no se comparan con equipos o combos de medios y graves de los equipos tradicionales ,Bose va por buen camino, pero le falta mucho para competir con los mejores
Hi I want to do an Opera Tour in teather and at the end of the tour i want to make a performance with three opera singer, using some mater pieces of the Opera. Hence, you do not recommend this expensive sounds for Karaokee. My plan is similar to sing Karaokee. What Bose do you recomend me for indoors with high ceilings? Thanks
If you had the older line of Bose systems, how does the new line compare? I run the L1 Mod-2 with the big B1 sub. Nothing in the compact series comes close (sort of like your comments on 16 vs 32). Just curious and thanks for the info.
Older line more stable (so I I've often heard from bose owners). Overall sound, some prefer the older line (which I find surprising) and of course others like the new line.
The 16 & 32 were my first bose column purchases. I didn't use the t4 or 8 with either as the price of the pa's were high enough and I didn't want to purchase an add-on!
Which speakers do you recommend for Karaoke gigs? I need it to be a line array like this because I have a hard time lifting and setting up heavy speakers. Thank you
"Bose Pro 16 or Pro 32?" I'm going with the F1 Thanks 😁 My favorite is F1 and then F2 when It come out. L 8 16 32 Pro's systems are not systems that I identify with. I like tops with at least a 12 inch speaker to give that real fat sound. L-systems are good systems but for those who want to save space in transport although the F1 don't take up much space. Towers with mini loudspeakers as tops don't convince me at all. For now the 4 f1 systems I have are my boys, when their replacements come out then I'll change it assuming there will be improvements, otherwise I'll be fine as I am.
The F1 are awesome. I have a pair with the subs and are phenomenal. Never gotten so much compliments on my audio then with that system. The stick solves a different for me. When I need to mix a full band, in a tighter spot without compromising the audio. Or when I need to do different set ups… like a wedding… ceremony as a an acoustic performer, cocktail hour as a duo the dinner/dance full band. Instead having F1 set ups at all three I can just have the f1 in the main band location and just have the sticks support my smaller areas. And if it sounds just as good as my F1 then I’m solid!
Just got my 16 and I'm already yearning from the 32. Great review. Thank you. How do you feel about the 32 with the Sub. 1. Does it still kill the 16. Please elaborate.
@@opaz. Can you please elaborate how they compare (I don't care what the paper shows). My Model II was 8db down and was nearly the same volume as the ES1203.
I haven't listened to my dB for over a year and haven't done any comparisons yet. For me it's not necessarily about spl (you can play any PA loud) but composure at limits. Does it sound tidy or get ragged. I'm sure they both perform good. It''s simply how you like your sound and your budget
@@opaz. that's awesome. So really 2 systems in one. Smaller parties and larger parties. If u look at it that way the cost is more reasonable. Still expensive.
Simple: Bought 1st one November Fail upload December Got another 2nd replacement in January Bought Pro32 in January Returned 2nd replacement February, realising loose fitting spacer was not a one off and the high pitch noise coming from the column was also not a one off! Both 16's suffered both ploblems
