Saw them twice in Chicago in 78 and 80. First time was unbelievable, played just like the album. Live was even better. They kicked both times but the first was mind blowing. Brad Delp never missed a note. One of my all time favorite concerts.
I'm totally convinced that had this lineup had stay together, and made an additional 3, or 4 more albums, Boston would have become a super group and be a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. No doubt about it!
Got to see this show when I was 17, went with 2 friends had the shitty seats way up top, The line up was Todd Rundgren and Utopia, Poco, and the Outlaws. It was called the Festival at the Meadowlands. So this is how it went down the day started out cloudy with rain coming down by the end of Pocos set then full on downpour during the Outlaws. Took a break while setting up Boston by the time they hit the stage and opened with R&R Band and the Sun came out, best part was lots of people left which aloud us to move to Great seats. I have been to hundreds of shows in my life and this one I will remember forever. I thank whoever has this footage of one of the most Iconic Rock bands ever ( still not in R&R hall.. Bullshit), you all should show your children what musical talent is right here.
I was at that show! As someone else posted, it was Boston, Poco, Todd Rundgren and the Outlaws. Can't believe it was almost 45 years ago! Wish there was footage of the other acts and a sweep view of the whole stadium. As I recall there were huge video monitors at each end of the stadium projecting the show. Pretty techie for 1979!
MachineryMan71 Yep, that's the "Mighty Mouse" guitar. He also has a goldtop with two dimarzio super distortions (cream) that he ocassionally plays. That one's from the Don't Look Back tour.
