This is a really neat boxing defense to use against an attacking, aggressive opponent. You combine your footowrk with your head movement. Shift out diagonally and come back the same way using a slip and roll. Takes you back to close range where you can let them shots go. Always remember, boxing defense can incorporate multiple skills.

Nice variation on a theme, different movement patterns or defences provide a great intro / options to counter an aggressive attacking opponent. Like it Fran👍

What is the value of confusing the opponent while expending energy. So he gets confused for a second - we didnt score, we spent energy, we didnt set up a shot, we didn't create any defensive or offensive opportunities. I dont understand the purpose. Thoughts?

When you roll and then step in you could punch at the same time with a left hook. Sometimes called a Gazelle hook. Boxing is all about creating angles and options while staying safe

why are people asking how this is effective? fran clearly says to use this when you're backed up on the ropes against an aggressive opponent.

There is something missing here. Back then roll then forward. Backing - cuz opponent coming forward Rolling - if opponent throws something Forward - to touch faces or what??? Something is missing here.

@maddat8701 Awesom Brother!! What did you learn about him during the fight that led to your victory?
@maddat8701
@maddat8701 10 месяцев назад
@@Causewisdom I had a bit of length to him, so I was trying to keep it long and was throwing the check left hook and pivoting out of there. When he came in. It may of been different if he was taller. But I just kept it simple. One two move.

@maddat8701 The textbook strategy for an aggressive opponent. Nice! You said it was a close decision. What was it that made it a close fight? Could it be that you realize you had to stand on the back foot more than actually trading shots mid range?
