He's the only who could say: "The cousins shot me, I survived, I called their mom a bitch, and then they paid me money afterwards" and it would be true.
@@dataexpunged4784 Eh, maybe. Since it’s such a common phrase, he might not have cared. The skater twin specifically called her that, whereas the arms dealer was talking more directly to the Twins.
In this video alone, the dealer spoke 293 words of 1,313 characters. The twins spoke three words, of 13 characters. Literally a 100:1 ratio of talkativeness lmfao
Have you watched Lord of War? It's a movie about arms dealing starring Nicholas Cage. So, if they actually made the spin off, it could be almost similar to that movie but with different character's personality, and this character here, for me, he actually sounds similar to Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman but with different job.
Its actually a military tactic, louder footsteps give the impression of a larger force than is present. Not quieter. Reflects discipline and military bearing
One of the smartest characters of TV, wears body armor because he’s an arms dealer and knows he’s in a dangerous business, but just sells and doesn’t piss off anyone.
“Stop a bullet like a soft wang against a Quaker girl, just ain’t gettin’ through.” The context for such a line doesn’t come up often but when it does I’m definitely using it.
@@gabrielecafiero9014 Sure.... Wang means penis... penises get hard when its time to do the ol' in & out... a soft wang means the wang is not hard, making the ol' in & out impossible. Quaker girl seems to be a line completely made up by the writers... If I had to guess: it probably references the christian protestant Quakers (see Quakerism's Wikipedia page).... basically, the writers probably used it as another word for a chaste girl and didn't think any deeper on the actual meaning.
Notice the typecasting for a lot of the characters in the show. They're comedy actors. This show broke out a theory that comedy actors are some of the best you can hire for a drama. Cranston, Paul, Odenkirk have all been better known for comedy roles before Breaking Bad.
I think its the fact everybody has history. This is something early game of thrones did well also, every character in small and big ways acted and implied a grander scope and history to the universe and themselves. Just this guys dialogue alone suggests a roughneck background with a large experience in his profession wrapped in a happy-go-lucky sales attitude
I love how nonchalant he is with them. It doesn't matter that he doesn't know who they are because he deals with their kind all the time; they're buyers and he's a seller and he'll do his damndest to make that sale!
kalibos It's not like they'd do anything but but from him no matter if they're cartel or anything, he's got the goods and has nothing to worry about but showing his inventory, those guys deal with dangerous people all the time and just sell and move on to the next cartel
Its a big loss if the cartel just shoot him and loot everything too. He's obviously a supplier of these sorts of things for the gang members and whatnot with cartel affiliations. Its easy to get guns in the USA, but he offers a service of all sorts of weaponry for criminals like these, and is a great resource to have.
@@IPIRIEY It'd also be a big loss to lose a dealer that regularly supplies these things. The fewer dealers there are the fewer places and fewer resources you can buy which can end up with you having to pay more money.
john No the bullet he gave them was the same bullet that fell out of their jack - which in turn gave Hank a bullet to reload his gun killing one of the cousin.
I imagine they would have thought, they might need to do business with him again in the future. But I thought the same. I was like "Keep your mouth shut dude!!"
@Infamouschef_ I mean, regardless of how bloodthirsty they are, its just stupid to kill a supplier. Not only because they might need him again but most importantly because no one would want to do business with them or the Salamanca clan again if they just kill you and steal your supplies. Its important for any criminal to have a good reputation with the black market, even if they have a horrible reputation with everyone else. Hell, especially if they have a horrible reputation with everyone else.
Quakers are religious sect. There is not a lot of them, so stereotypes are all most will ever know of them. I believe the assumption is the Quaker girl is chaste, so sex is not going to happen in the first place. Soft wang makes penetration even more impossible. Therefore, it's impossible for a bullet to pierce the protective vest.
0:54 so if the dealer had taken that bullet back, Hank wouldn't have survived his encounter against the twins? Subtle detail right there, chaos theory at its finests...
Yeah but you don't kill people like gun dealers. Because reputation makes and breaks your criminal activity. If you run the risk of word getting out you took a gun dealer out for no reason. Then you're kind of limiting you're options in the future for buying weapons or vests, stuff like that.
His job is to sell you a product which means he needs to get his point across fast. Customers don't like to wait, so as a dealer you need to get to the point and then sell it to them; tell them why they want what you have which is what he did, it's why he gave them one free sample and showed off his vest, makes it more legit if the dealer's using it.
I love the part where he says “so light you’ll forget you’re wearing them” and tries to toss them to the brothers, but he only manages to throw them like 2 inches.
Im sitting on a train laughing out loud because as I was thinking about this scene, I could not get over the line ‘it’s a shock to the system if the body is not properly acclimated’. The way it’s written and delivered just makes it seem like he really researched the topic of peeing on women and regurgitated some fact he read online LOL
***** Depends on the cartel member and what kind of money he has and their own personal taste if they were mid to high ranking like the twins and came from a more metropolitan area vs a ranchish area very possible.Few people know it but myer lansky is the person who started the heroin trade with mexico in the early 20s and it was these early mafia encounters that rubbed off on the early cartels which is also why the spanish word for gangster in Mexico is Mafioso
RangerRubber not really. After Hank ran over the first cousin, he shot the other in the chest but it didn't get him cuz he was wearing it and you know the rest
Mossab Salih i mean before the cousin went to get the ax a bullet fell down from his jacket. so hank put it in his gun and shot him. i think that was the bullet the arms dealer gave him
See at 1:54, the cousin drops the bullet, and then the label "Do not drop" comes into view on the crate behind him. Is that foreshadowing him dropping the Black Death bullet that kills him? If the writers did that on purpose that's brilliant.
most likely not done on purpose or intentional. but most likely added by art dept and chosen by the director or DOP during production. nice eye thoe good spotting.
No you're overdoing it. Everything that minute is not a foreshadowing. Also, please stop using that word in everything you see. Many things in the world happen with randomness (without intention).
This guy cracks me up.......he reminds me of Steve Buscemi......"Vests?!?!? HELL YEAH we got vests!.....just like a soft wang against a quaker girl, it just ain't gettin' through".....lol
pfft like he is going to a hospital. sir how did this happen welll ya see a couple mexicans wanted to buy a vest and i showed em mine and they shot me.... sir we have an officer that would like to ask you where your dealers license is
@@hardwirecars doctors or nurses arent required to report what got you there to the police. Only if you specify what the chief complaint is, then LE can get involved
@@dtczyk8976 I think arms dealers are kind of a no-go in the crime world just because they all need guns. And someone who can get his hands on high grade weapons probaly has some friends you don't want to mess with.
Red Breaker yea like you kill him an take the guns but now you gotta go and find another psrson when you can just keep the same supplier its just like robbing a dealer you just gone get what they got and have to find a new person now.
@@ComandanteTresLetrasJGL criminal world has tight connection and words get out fast real quick which will taint or make your reputation higher, if you take out dealer or anyone within criminal world for no reason, best assured that you will have people coming after you or already planning to open case on you
This arms dealer, both almost killed Hank and saved him. Almost killed him when he gave the cousins the vest and saved him when he gave them the bullet. Superb writing.
To be honest... they should have paid for 3 vest. I dont think I would want to use a vest that has been shot, so teh arms dealer most likely would have to get rid of it.
Right? I'll admit, I was laughing after they shot him just to make sure that the vest actually worked. Also, you could totally tell that they had to have been thinking, "Dude, just shut up already!"
The twins technically weren't killers in the literal sense. They were just individuals who got sucked into a lifestyle that they couldn't break away from. Yes they have killed but they didn't kill out of enjoyment but purpose.
I remember a friend started watching the series because of this scene, he walked in right when I was watching it and laughed his ass off, then asked me the name of the series
