These are times where NBA players have broken unwritten rules but as the video goes on the get increasingly more heated. Business Inquiries: mcosh3@gmail.com
My favorite part is how many of these players are complete hypocrites. They have no problem doing it themself but if somebody does it to their team then it’s disrespectful and uncalled for
@@wilsonsmilkit's called sportsmanship. Blowouts happen. Unwritten rules exist for a reason. When you break them you are risking somebody rocking you in your s***. Most high-level competitors feel this way so it's best just not to do it
I think the flashy dunks probably add more insult to injury than like a lazy meaningless layup or a three, but I understand them more. It's an entertainment sport. Fans came to watch a good game. If they get a windmill dunk out of a blowout, that's a good thing. There might be some kid at the only basketball game they'll ever see in their life and they might get to see something spectacular.
@@harrellt1405You sure? Cause I've been in rec leauges where a team will get up by 30 and start chucking half courts and dunking at the end of the game. For some reason millionaire players are the only ones to get all butthurt about a little fun
@@harrellt1405 I can see that in most cases, but I think an exception can be made when the winning team is breaking a losing streak. It's a weight lifted off their shoulders. Let them have a little extra at the end.
It’s the other way around for me: I feel respected when an enemy team plays their hardest until the game ends even if I’m losing by a lot. I feel disrespected when someone goes easy on me because they are winning by a lot.
In gaming, it's considered disrespectful to go easy on your opponent because you're basically saying "I'm so much better then you I don't even have to try and I'll win anyway". Respect is giving your best effort no matter what. If you get smoked, all the more reason to get better and come back next time.
*"Classless act...."* <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="173">2:53</a> Uh no.... THIS IS LITERALLY HIS CLASS. He is paid to do this, nobody paid to see a 10 minute 4th quarter just because we already know who won. Play the freaking game. It's the same problem in every sport. Why have regulation if you aren't allowed to play the same way during the whole game (including up to the end)!?
The one with D Wade was the perfect way to handle this. Otherwise, I really have no problem with playing till the buzzer sounds regardless if it's a blowout or not
This is the specific incident that made me go “this unwritten rule is dumb as shit” and feel that players who react to it like that are especially soft. I get not showing up your opponent, I really do, but reacting so viciously to these meaningless baskets only comes from a place of broken egos and mishandled frustrations.
Dame doin it to Chicago (<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="125">2:05</a>) is okay but then he gets salty when CP3 does it to him (<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="223">3:43</a>)💀
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="140">2:20</a> I don't get it? *What did they do wrong?* You played bad defense, the game is still going, you're getting paid millions. What a bunch of grown up babies!
I agree, being from the UK I’ve never got this, you’re a professional athlete, you play to the end no matter what. In soccer often the game is clearly won and the other side still play 100% till the very last ball. The NBA is the only sport to do this, they should be ashamed to have that mentality.
I love the NBA but this is the only part that sucks about the sport - they all give up on the game sometimes 10 minutes before it's all over - in other sports they will fight tooth and nail until the last second, even if there's no chance they will make a chance, they will drag themselves closer. And it's so dumb because all it takes is a couple of stops and a few 3's to drop and a lead can be erased - and these players all know this from experience.
Clyde Frazier summed it up perfectly at the end "You're here to play the Game!". As long as there's time on the clock I'm shooting at the Basket. Especially if I'm winning a blowout at home I'm getting out the fancy stuff to celebrate. NBA is about entertainment just as much as it is about the Sport. Give the Fans what they paid for.
Well, that would include the "fights" as well. Some of the crowd would not mind some animosity between some players and teams. In fact, quite a few old schoolers think that the NBA today is too friendly.
Its grown men getting upset they lost a game. Don't want to get styled on? Then don't lose. People pay to see people compete. Not stand around watching a clock.
The fights add to the entertainment which is the only plus. If we didn't know they were genuinely upset over petty crap then I'd say the fights were ok.
And not one player from the opposing team dared to step to him about THE UNWRITTEN RULE. That’s the dumbest rule I’ve ever heard. Im mad because my team got blowed out so if you score with like seconds left in the fourth quarter we will fight you. What???
@@realcoachescorner3503Actually they do play defense. I studied today's defense and compared it to the 90's and 2000's defense and it's actually the same.
@@realcoachescorner3503hy would you defend in the last ten seconds when you're losing. And why would you give it your all to score in the last 10 seconds when you're winning. Well obviously because you wanna be the big boy attention grabber and 90% of people doing this are bench warmers.
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="258">4:18</a> that dribble is so clean, very reminiscent of how a soccer defender would act if the same happened to him. No unwritten rule broken especially not in the 3rd quarter, get mixed Ariza.
Imagine literally any other sports like soccer if you scored at the end of a blow out and the losing team tried to fight you because of it imagine how stupid that would look
@@sebastianbardon391in football, when there’s like 30 seconds left, the winning team’s quarterback would kneel to run the clock out instead of continuing play
Is it just me or does getting upset at the opposing team scoring when they already won just seems like a hurt-ego tantrum? The only people getting upset are the losing team. They likely wouldn’t care if they were winning. And the game doesn’t end until the clock runs out. It’s like they’re trying to put people down for winning, which is the definition of a sore loser
@@Smith9082253yeah one of these was the winning team casually bouncing it out before someone on the losing team steals it and goes for a shot that would have knocked the lead down to 12 with 8 seconds left. I dont think thats fighting hard that's just not letting people go home
Was at the Jazz/Timberwolves game. Jazz fans were cheering for Rudy most the night even when we was scoring points against the Jazz but ended the night booing him and only him
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="415">6:55</a> Tf was that goofy ass square up 💀 Bro had no intention to go for a punch but still felt he needed to "act tough"
I wish I knew what these unwritten rules were. I just see people playing the game while there is time on the clock while a bunch of people stand around expecting it to be over when it's not.
If you can't score in the remaining minutes because your lead is "too large", what is the point of being on the court? To stand around like a bunch of clowns? Either the rules need to be changed so the captain of the opposition team can call the game over early (and accept the loss) or teams play properly until the game is over.
Whenever D Wade get his statue outside of Miami stadium, it should be him standing on the ball just like that @<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="193">3:13</a> 💯💯
They put an embargo on that rebound though and didn't get him the triple double on the stat, but was that him or another guy, cause I know one dude tried to miss a layup to get an offensive rebound to complete his triple double
I like how the refs didn’t even call wade for the kick ball violation they were just like “Yea, for Sacramento’s sake we’re letting the clock run out.”
@@almightyprofessornope. if it’s loose it can be a kick. it wasn’t called because Wade didn’t kick it. the ball can touch the foot, it just can’t be kicked
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="58">0:58</a> I’m so confused on what he did wrong lol. The game still had over 2 minutes left it wasn’t like he did it when there was 5 seconds left
@@juli8nsfx What do you mean? There were no teammates even in the same half of the court? I thought it might be because he is a rookie and as a rookie you're meant to score the sure points, not do something flashy and possibly make a mistake. But then they are up by 30 so not sure if that is it
HE DID NOTHING WRONG! steve kerr trippin saying something to him. Phyck feelings its hoops u dont want him to score the team shoulda played some better defense and not be so lacks about it.
@@realcoachescorner3503you're right it's an entertainment product! It's for the fans! People pay good money to watch them play and they all loved that Zion dunk
Honestly, if you’re that mad, don’t get blown out, I know it happens to the best but it happens less to the better teams. Use that unreleased emotion to land some shots and play better defense and maybe you wouldn’t be on the losing end, every time I got mad at a winner I remembered this. I understand there’s an unwritten rule but the only reason they're acting on it is embarrassment, hence why there’s a lot of hypocrisy.
There are a lot of “unwritten rules” in certain sports. Still, I would rather deal with an NBA player making an extra basket that CAN’T HURT anyone than the STUPID ones in baseball. Deliberately throwing at a batter if it was done by the opposing pitcher, benches emptying to “protect” a player and other stuff.
y'all love this logic until a player you don't like stays in the game and "statpads" while being up 20. OR when your favorite player is kept in a game that's clearly over and ends up getting injured, then it's "WHY WAS HE STILL IN?". Game not over til it's over right?
@@icedawaaave3858 yea game aint over till its over. if they dont want him to stat pad, how bout they try defending so he doesnt get the stat, instead of giving up
It didn’t count because NBA says he needs to genuinely try to score for it to be a “shot attempt”. Because it was not a shot attempt. There is no rebound since there is no attempt at field goal
i love at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="305">5:05</a> when saric hits the layup/dunk at the buzzer and JJ and Joel simultaneously toss up their hands like "dude, what are you thinking?"
Unwritten rules are so petty in thr NBA. Like the game is over when the time is up, I don't care if your team is up 100 with 5 secs left, shoot the damn shot. I paid to see basketball, play until the end.
y'all love this logic of "game isn't over til the buzzer sounds" until a player you don't like stays in the game and "statpads" while being up 20. OR when your favorite player is kept in a game that's clearly over and ends up getting injured, then it's "WHY WAS HE STILL IN?". Game not over til it's over right?
@@slaugmromni6743 Hm, who said it was directed towards you. Do YOU use that logic? Idk, never said YOU did. It's towards anyone who uses that logic, if you don't it doesn't apply to you. Sounds like you just projected by getting defensive over something that may or may not even apply to you. You kinda told on yourself with that one.
Love how Ja thought he was bout to do something when Jae got pushed but didn’t do anything when you did at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="459">7:39</a>
NHL unwritten rules: no cheap shots, fight someone your size, take the gloves off before you fight, stop when the guy’s down NBA unwritten rules: don’t try to keep scoring if you’re about to win, you’ll hurt someone’s feelings
This "unspoken rule" doesn't sit right with me. If I saw my that opponents stopped trying I would get way more mad, being treated like a sensitive child while being at the top of any league woud really be like stepping an insult towards my pride as a player.
Every other sport: Play to the bell/whistle/the ref shoves you off the guy Baseball/basketball: Literal fistfights if you try to score when you're ahead late.
Well im learning this sport, and its super strange to me the "respect the last minute rule", i get the part where you are winning nonetheless but, talking from the other sports i learned while growing i find it really stupid. But i guess they have it like a super important thing to have in mind, i just found it hilarious.
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="357">5:57</a> for the fans lmao. That's how you play: to win. And for the crowd. This is the entertainment business after all. Give the people what they came for: a damn good show.
