Great video as always. I enjoy getting the M&M updates through your channel with your comments. Like you, I am excited for their vision bringing back the old mmo feel. Can't wait for an mmo where the experience starts at level one with slower meaningful combat so I can relax. Those comments about WoW and people not talking or getting upset because peak DPS was not reached really turned me off to WoW and a lot of modern mmos that are just button mashing fests.

I was listening to this again and was thinking about some of their design philosophies, and I 100% like the direction they are going, but one thing I was relieved to hear was that they were having people "debate" with them about things, he mentioned that during a friends and family test someone was mentioning where, "when someone has the chance to grief they will." I think they should look at these issues and think about the answer the mainstream games came up with, X that out and brainstorm other solutions. One idea off the top of my head is having multiple zone options for each level bracket, so if I am frustrated in Woodsdale I can go level in Cragstone Keep(just two random names that came to my head lol) that would lower frustration while retaining their design philosophy. Now, I know throwing ideas out like that is far easier than just throwing it into the game, but my point was more about how they should debate these things and examine the good, the bad and the alternatives to both, because ultimately even if it is a niche game, which I'm happy about, I do want it to be successful and have a healthy playerbase.

I love the "multiple zone options for each level bracket" thought process... and I have a feeling M&M will continue to gain the traction and support it needs. I'll be writing these ideas down and getting them organized somehow on my Discord channel. M&M devs are already listening to their fans and they appreciate the feedback. Especially when the feedback aligns with their vision. As for resources, yeah it's not easy to make a game, but it's a lot easier when the vision is not muddied with too many a contradicting voices. Your idea makes sense for what they're trying to accomplish. By the way, if you get bored and want to hang out with on my Discord, I'll include the invite here. It's mainly just to talk about classically inspired MMOs like EQ, MnM, Pantheon, etc. Also, I appreciate all your comments on the videos... it makes this even more fun than it already is. Would you take the time to teach me how to play Everquest? Also I think a Discord server would be great in additional to your channel and to make your community grow. I'm not an EQ player, I don't know anything about that game but I tell you, EQ for me is like a live action folk-lore movie when I watch live stream. Every minute when I'm watching EQ I feel like this is something else.

How do they get away with these biomes? They are really similar to EQ's. I mean, come on. The Wood Elf city is almost the same!

How does any rpg get away with Tolkien or DnD styled anything? Also the lead dev worked for EQ and the game was inspired by EQ. Absolutely amazing and about time someone stopped reinventing the wheel. Just add some fresh tread and keep it rolling.

I think they are very open with EQ as an inspiration. A lot of EQ fans tak about wanting a EQ 1.5. Long story short you can't copyright deserts and tree villages because they are just concepts. If you could copyright concepts a lot of doomclones and soulslike games would never have existed.
