I have one. On the face of it, it’s a simple design but it has some nice touches too. Feels very well built.

Nice one mate. Love that small seconds at 6h. Thinking of doing something like that for a field watch soon. Mike

Feels rather pricey for a Sellita SW260-1 movement.
@ClickSpringReview

True but the name comes into play as well as you are getting a Bremont after all, Look at my Breitling colt that costs £2750 and houses the B17 which is just a ETA 2824 COSC spec movement , you can find watches around £700 with a 2824

Is this really better than a Oris Big Pilot/Pilot ??
@ClickSpringReview

Tough one this one does have better time keeping being COSC rated and a little better case finishing but thats not to say the Oris isn't good Sir

Nice lookin’ dial, cool pin buckle.. how they justify that price is beyond me when you can get better German watches for 1000 dollars less

@@ClickSpringReview Regarding name, as an American living in Germany, I might be a bit biased there.. There's a funny rhyme here in Deutschland that goes, "Gott schütze uns vor Sturm und Wind, und Autos die aus England sind." ("God protect us from storm and wind, and cars that are from England.") Maybe that hints at contrasting sentiments here. Anyway, bless your industry, quaint island, and don't take no Scheisse from ze Germans... ;)

You have a point, I really like a couple of the German marques. The UK isn't fully set up as a watch making nation in huge quantities, Sinn have been going since '61 and can bring their costs down by quantity. I think Bremont have made a good start, but time will tell if they can keep going and make truly in house movements and compete with the big boys. I'm a fan of Damasko and I'd love Bremont to emulate them a touch more. There is an element of hype about these guys and asking a bit too much for their products, but Sinn, although very good can have issues with quality control at the 1000 dollar less price range than this broadsword. Bremont don't have the quantities of scale and these are watches are admirably largely made in the UK, which can only be a good start. Most watches from countries other than Switzerland, Japan and Germany to a certain extent will claim they make watches, when, in fact, they are largely hand finished in Switzerland with many Chinese parts. Hamilton watches are great, for example, and have the Swiss Made logo displayed on them, but it's unlikely that they are fully made in Switzerland with their high average wages. I imagine Christopher Ward are a similar case in point.

Define ‘better’. Bremonts are extremely well made watches. Whilst I wouldn’t call them cheap, when you know and understand the processes that went into creating these watches, and that bremont is young startup trying to make its mark in a huge world of watches it is understandable why they charge what they do. I have 3 Bremont watches and I can say they are higher quality than a lot of other watches I’ve seen.

I love Britain. I love the Arm Force. But I cannot love this watch. It is quite thick for a field watch and it is too big compared to dirty dozens. It is an automatic watch so it is not a real watch used in battlefield or something. CWC watches are quartz and they are real arm watches. It has no crown guard. The case design is actually nice but I really don't like the dial. The dial needs to "pop" and Bremont's design on dial can really "pop" or has really great constrast to tell time. It can simply be improved by having bigger numerals, train track minutes and broader hands. Of course it is too expensive. If I have the money, I would just buy a CWC watch at around 1/10 of the price and more authenticity. I know it is a luxury watch that looks like a field watch. I am not against the idea of luxurious watch pretending to be tool watches. But it just fails to attract me, and I really tries to like this watch . But I cannot.
@ClickSpringReview
@ClickSpringReview 2 года назад
Hi Hugh The size of the watch its only just over a 1mm thicker than the original, and some of the dirty dozens were 38mm so the Bremont is only a 2mm over size and so opens the watch up to a wider market The dial they have tried to keep with the original theme If they started messing around with that it just wouldn't work as thats the one thing they had to keep simple to match the original Sir I do know some military personnel who still use automatic watch in the field but most as you say use CWC

A non name watch that is very expensive. I might as well buy Hamilton. It’s not clean. It’s overrated and expensive no name watch. It’s supposed to be $500

I do think its about grand over priced but being a COSC movement its always going to cost more than most, This is Bremont's entry model after all, I believe their new CEO has lowered some of the prices, their Supernova which I really like a lot , can now be found for around 5k down from 8k.
