The amazing Brent Spiner who played Data from Star Trek TNG, Dr Okun in the independence day films and Sidney from the new show Outcast. An amazing talent.
his work on Out to Sea , The movie was just crazy, he played a evil , funny song and dance man . as a brit . in a cast of heavy hitting star power . i must say under played the thing as best he could , but God this guy is a massive power of skills , he carried the film . it killed his movies rolls . as a film fan , i was stunned the range he has is like a star ship , respect of the 1st order from me .
Sorry for the late reply, but for me - "Geppetto." Ashamed to admit I watched it, but not ashamed to admit I watched it solely for him; he played Stromboli. And the song he sang in that movie.... He turned that song into a f***ing Puccini aria! Yeah, the man is hugely talented. It's true, I love him mainly because of Data, but it's all the other things as well. The "Independence Day" movies, "Out to Sea," "Geppetto," his two studio albums ("Dreamland" with Maude Maggart and, for the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the other one), "Outcast" (BRRR!), and the various roles in between. He is the inspiration for a character in a story I'm writing; if I do it right, it'll be amazing. So. I also cannot wait for his semi-fictional memoir that's supposed to be published soon (if not already).
With facial capture tech in marvel movies that can make actors appear young again, Brent can actually play data again and maintain the characters youthful appearance.
A huge problem with diversity is having a character in the first film where the actor isn't aware they are gay, and then making him gay in the second film. Its ticking boxes for all the wrong reasons.
