Absolutely loving this build series, mate. Best move you have made (for the channel at least) yet. Problem solving, weather issues, staffing issues, banter....it has the lot! So much more interesting than the box bashing....for you and us!
Hi Charlie another great video, great to see your sister again. Doing the right thing on the chimney let them know what you think looks best. Thanks for the video. Keep up the great work team Collison 👌👍😉
I’m building a massive 7 bedroom house with a double plinth, loads of extra work but it looks the nuts and the client is happy, I’ve not worked on a big site for over 10 years now and hopefully will never go back, small sites are definitely the way to go and less stressful, keep up the good work
I think you seem a lot happier having the challenge of this job Charlie, it’s nice when you have a price in for the job that allows you to take your time to make that little extra effort in presentation. Really enjoying watching you do these house builds, first class mate 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Charlie you are absolutely right chimney bricks must be semetrical because the corners are so close to each other where it is very easy to notice. We use the same “ice cream” here in the states to describe the consistently we want for brick laying! Good to see your sister Georgi working with you,she hasn’t missed a beat, she is a hard worker she didn’t want to just stand around when there was a lull, you got to get her on the trowel. Your doing the right thing getting the builder and the architect involved before you go any further with the chimney. Great vids your showing your know Knowalge and skills.
If I had a hat, I'd doff it. Exactly the right attitude for anyone to adopt if they care about their workmanship, irrespective of the trade you're in. If you wouldn't be happy with it yourself, then educate the client (including the donut architect) and try to make a change. Your name is on the finished product. All the best.
Never ceases to amaze me how architects produce drawings that are totally inconsistent with brick dimensions, especially when the build is a decorative bond like Flemish, English ect.
Morning Charlie and gang 😀 I’ve said before I’m no Brikkie but I really enjoy watching you lay bricks 🧱 and your sensible chats 👍🏻 This is a really lovely build with lots of different techniques with ice cream 🍦 for muck lol 😆 Take care cheers Stevie 😎
Loving this build Charlie I think you made a great move both for you and us subscribers, you can see how much you love your bricklaying & this is from a non bricklayer. Best wishes from Tony in Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪.
Rules of bonding are "change of direction change of bond" so you cant have a header course and on the same course once you turn the corner headers again it should be stretchers.
The PDQ clips are brilliant, I wasn’t too sure about them when they first arrived but when I used them, god send, they save so much time, always use them on plinth jobs now. Anything to make our job easier is good in my book.
