I think she was trying to get bio mum to contribute to her daughter's dress. I bet the 3k came from the step mum and dad, and bio mum is just leaving them to it! Why else would step mum indicate to the bio mum when the excess was discussed. Step mum is disgusted that bio mum hasn't offered to contribute to the bride's wedding, and was trying to force the issue. The bride has obviously given up on bio mum. This is not evil step mother territory, and step mum is very secure about her relationship with the bride.

but maybe they are, maybe the bio mum chose not to be in her life as much as a mum needs to be, and step mum, stepped up and was the mum the woman needed growing up. Strange how bio mums suddenly think they should be the centre of affection when they failed to give affection. It doesn't work that way. Strangely, the bride looked much more like her step mum than her bio mum. That was distracting. Yes, going over budget like that was way out of line, but the bride absolutely loved the dress, so the step mum does know her very very well. The way the bride did not apportion blame on the step mum tells me, bio mum does not deserve much sympathy on the mothering front.

@@debsterling3928 ... you are aware that a family can be broken up way before the stepmom comes into the picture right? Lol RIP salesgirl. If the price difference wasn't approved offscreen by Laurie, associate should have let the bride know it was above budget before putting it on. Dress should have been put back/ price disclosed after Step-Mom surreptitiously forced it on the Salesgirl without agreeing to pay the difference. It's an awkward interactions, but going over budget (even minimally) can lose customer trust & the overall sale. Luxury good sellers have to be able to confront customers about budget concerns or they shouldn't be in luxury, unfortunately. 1k is a lot to some people & that was a snake move on the step mom, but even more of a bad sales move on the employee. Confrontation w step mom is better than killing a sale
