I think that she was using the wrong words. Maybe she meant that she wasn't "girly" enough, personality wise, to carry off the second dress. Personally, I thought that, aesthetically, the second dress looked beautiful on her and really suited her figure. But I can understand her not feeling that it matched her personality.

it was a critique to the dress, not to herself. it's not her style, doesn't suit her personality. i think she's happy with how unique she is.

Completely disagree. I don't bring my family along just so they could blow smoke up my ass and say yes to every dress I wear. Being supportive is one thing but if they think it looks hideous on me they I would hope they said so. They're the people I trust the most and if they don't like it then I'm not buying it. Especially if they're chipping in to buy the wedding dress.

"Not pretty enough." is what people say to women who like to dress casual all the time. Yes, I do have some "nicer" pieces but I rarely wear them because I feel more comfortable in jeans and a T-shirt. I'm pretty sure her fiance likes her the way she is and that's all it matters, not what 'society' thinks she should look like! And yes, she is beautiful, her soul is also pretty. I hope she is happily married now, she deserves it.

I think that the mom still didn't love it in the end, but she could see how happy the dress made her daughter and she realized that that was all that mattered.

I didn't like the veil and I felt like it brought the uniqueness away from it and was only for the mom but I think either way Frankie would enjoy it.

For everyone with eyes to see, the mom only warmed up to this dress, because she saw her daughter loved it so much. The veil didn't add anything, but time to get used to the dress and find it in her heart to let her dreams for her child go and accept the child's wishes instead. Good for you mom. Love you for it.
