It's such a small detail, but I adore how after Aqua pops up and Kana finds her motivation you start to see a few more white glowsticks are in the crowd. Because Kana was so lost in her insecurities and self deprecating, we couldn't see them because she couldn't. After she saw Aqua, she started to see more, and so we could see more. I honestly don't think there's a better example of how a lot of Kana's issues popularity wise are kinda self-percieved. It's not that she has no fans, but that shes so lost in her insecurities that she can't recognize that she DOES. I love her character, and I can't wait to see this rivalry between her and Akane go into full gear.
I think from akane's side it's completely professional while from kana's side it's kinda a mix of both (as she is clearly salty about her and aqua but she also holds some heat in her cuz of akane becoming more popular and successful than her even tho kana used to be ahead as a child but now she doesn't even come close to akane's level)

I love the reactions each of the girls has to Aqua. Mem is like "What the hell?! THE Aqua is doing something like this?!" Kana is trying her hardest to keep from bursting out laughing, because good god that shit is hilarious and doesn't suit her image of him at ALL.😂 Ruby is smiling like she's glad to see him here, but it also looks a little sad almost as well. Almost like she's about to cry tears of joy because you know for a fact it's been SO LONG since she ever saw him do anything like this. Like his younger happier self has resurfaced for just a short time, despite the fact he still has that stubborn deadpan expression on his face.
If you go back throughout the season you can see the times that Kana talks about Akane you can tell that there's already some bitterness there, and there's definitely implied to be more than just the love triangle aspect to it. There's more to their history and this episode confirms it. Really excited to see these characters developed more.
I haven't moved on from that Aqua in the audience sequence ever since it aired 😂❤ It was the scene that convinced me to fully jump into the ship and I felt happy for Kana because she needed someone to be there for her
I absolutely loved this episode, I almost cried for her , and aqua dancing and holding her light stick so high was so beautiful, and when the lyrics said I'll be your star we see her pointing to aqua it was so sweet

@@sixteen-sj8ip for me I would put Ai below Kana simply because we barely know anything about her as a character. Plus both Kana and Ai basically just written the same look simple and ingenues since their first introduction but later on revealed their characters are actually much more complex than that.
the dance that Aqua did is a REAL thing it's called WOTAGEI it's the newest form of it with pen lights ( glow sticks ) basically, a dance that's like a cheer for idols now, there is a competition term for it forgot what it is called (＾＾' )
A really small but quite awesome detail is that the recordings they used for Star *T*Rain and Our Sign is B are sung by the VA's of Ruby, Mem-Cho, and Kana. They did such an awesome job and I can't wait for season 2

Can't really say i like her personality tbh mate but yeah she is a pretty well written and realistic character with good character development Tho she really needs more screentime like as another manga reader you must know what I'm talking about right , after this arc she barely has much screentime left in the rest of the manga (maybe a little bit like 3 - 4 chapters in the scandal arc and tokyo blade combined but that's about it)

(In case you are not familiar, Kaguya-sama was also written by Aka Akasaka from Oshi no Ko) And also, regarding next season, it seems like you had forgotten that Kana also had her great moments too. The chapters "Ad Lib" and "Genius Actress" were Kana focused, oh don't make me mention that Aqua and Kana's date chapter.

Aqua spent half an episode sorting out his feelings about Akane's Ai portrayal, so he's not going to be swayed by that, when it comes how he feels about Akane. Also, Akane didn't really show any interest in Aqua before he saved her, so I think a lot of what she feels for him is rooted in the fact that he did save her and I think she'll eventually realize that and that'll resolve the relationship between her and Aqua.
Kana declaring she'll make Aqua love her just makes me root for her so much, made my heart grow three sizes.. I think Akane is probably the more popular of the two, and normally I support girls like Akane over girls like Kana, but in this case, for me, there is no contest. Kana is just the best, and I think the story at the moment just works a lot better with her as the final love interest. For one, Aquas bond with her is set-up as being genuine, it's his real self, and Kana is being her real self, in essence Kana is narratively tied to the real Aqua, the aqua he was before Ais death. Essentially, the "good" Aqua. We know that revenge is rarely a positive, and the show is already setting it up to say that Aquas current state isn't good, and that it would be better if he actually went back to being the way he was, and living. And that's what Kana represents. Akane meanwhile is tied into Aquas obsession with Ai. The feelings he has for her are based on a lie, and he's using her. In that and in every other aspect Akane is tied into the negative part of Aqua, the revenge Aqua who is obsessed with Ai and will manipulate people and never smile. I liked how someone else said it, Kana feels like his light, while Akane feels like his darkness. Because of that I just can't support Aqua and Akane as a ship. Not only that but I find Kanas grudge against Akane more fair than the reverse. Kana used to be famous, but has been losing to Akane for years now, and has been suffering mostly in silence. Meanwhile Akane is holding a grudge about something that used to happen 10 years ago, even though she is now famous and has beaten Kana time and time again. It feels petty and vindictive, and makes her come across more as a villain rather than someone I root for. I root for the underdog, and Imo that's Kana. Plus, she's just funny. Edit: Also, the Akane fans are just THE WORST people on the planet, my god, I don't think I've ever met more toxic fans in my life.
I presume you're not a manga reader bc of the way you talked, but trust me, Kana is WAAAAY more petty than Akane. Akane is a more allie than anyone else in this show. Just wait and see how to story goes. About Kana being his "light", at one point you'll understand that this man has no light whatsoever. And Akane cares more about him than Kana btw. An Otaku in general is like a nerd who's very passionate about a specific thing or topic. The term otaku is however more commonly used to describe someone who is into anime and manga. Mana, the idol in the beginning who is described as an (idol) otaku actually has a whole chapter in the manga dedicated to her story. She's part of a bigger idol group and therefore has less screen time and less parts in songs overall. Watching the energy of the new B Komachi she realizes that this is what she always had dreamt of achieving and now that she's been in the industry for so long she didn't have the drive and motivation to be able to reach their level. She wishes them all the best and quits being an idol a few weeks after the event. She would start a new project and find employment at a popular clothing brand. On another note, I'm really excited to watch your reactions to Bocchi The Rock!
The Tokyo Blade arc is the best in the manga so far so I'm looking forward to how that plays out in the anime. We'll see a lot more of the Akane vs Kana rivalry play out and get some more backstory on both. The people shown at the end are indeed important characters in the next story arc and will be involved in the stage play. The person sitting at the desk who we only see the back of their head is the author of the Tokyo Blade manga and one of my personal favourite side characters so far. The love triangle only added fuel to the fire of their rivalry, they already don't like each other and we'll find out more in their backstory later on why they are rivals.
They were never going to play the OP--it's a meta thing that doesn't exist in that universe. The song is about Ai and includes a bunch of introspection on things that she never shared with anyone. Having characters in the show perform it would be seriously breaking the fourth wall. Also, can you imagine Ruby agreeing to sing a song about Ai that includes lines like "Aishiteru tte uso de tsumu kyaria" (I built my career on lies like "I love you")? Or "Dareka ni aisareta koto mo, Dareka no koto aishita koto mo nai" (I have never been loved, nor have I loved anyone)?
I'm sure someone on Patreon has probably already clarified, but 'otaku' is a term for someone who's a hardcore fan of something. 'Geek' might be the closest English equivalent. Usually, it's referring to an anime/manga fan, but can relate to other things (like idols, in this case).
Tbh I am team kana and I really think there is a chemestry between her and aqua but when it comes to the best girl argument, I have to give it to akane. Can't say the reasons because it will be spoilers but akane deserve it.
Season 1 is focused way more on Kana, so it's normal that anime onlies are on her team because they spent much more time with her than Akane, but season 2 is where Akane gets her main spotlight. You will see how great of a character she is, she is undoubtedly my favorite character in the manga, you'll see how much her and Aqua's relationship develops and just how inteligent and well written she is.

I really enjoy how they gave kana and akane more then just a love tringle for there conflict so it makes it a bit less silly. My only problem with season 1 is ruby was over shadowed by kana but also kana best girl so. Cant wait for season 2 with just 1 season I cant say its a favorite yet but god is it close
As a manga reader, the only thing I can say is if the girls ever get a chance to sing Idol, it'll be for THAT. But realistically, I feel only Ruby would as its not a song for idols.

The bad news is that the manga main story is going to take a month and a half long break. Aka is taking a break and Mengo is going to draw short stories for the next 4 weeks starting this week. Aka already is taking a break from his other series he's writing called Renai Daikou/Love Agency. He's got other mangaka jealous because he's not running himself into the ground like he did last year drawing Love is War and writing Oshi No Ko. He's just focusing on writing only.
I don't know if it's just me, but personally I think Star T. Rain (first song) is WAY better than Sign wa B (second song), which the show states is B Komachi's most popular song. Apparently it's not the most popular of opinions, since Sign wa B is actually the more popular one in real life too, but for me it's nowhere close top spot. Also, bell pepper song is underated, there's a full version and it's awesome.
That's not an unpopular opinion at all mate , akane is also really famous among ONK fans , kana is just in hype right now cuz it was mainly about her and akane's best moments are later in the story that's all But imma be honest kana's spotlight pretty much ends right here after this episode with barely much screentime in the rest of the story and akane will overtake next season
@@slamdunk121 which has already changed lol kana doesn't even come close to Ai anymore after the anime release And ofcourse we all know kana was more popular among manga readers before the anime but the anime has definitely made a great change , you can see more and more Ai and akane fans more often , the popularity polls are more even with akane also finally beating kana in multiple of em instead , kana isn't dominating all the polls anymore like before and Ai is obviously the one on top now , while akane and kana are more relative in popularity now Ai just straight sweeps any voting she is in , you can easily notice it around the social medias like reddit or youtueb etc , the scales are more fair now and considering akane hasn't even gotten much screentime in anime yet as s2 is where she shines the most while kana's screentime will just keep dropping with every upcoming season lol , so why don't we see the scores after the next season shall we ?

Sorry you two, but best girl for me is Akane. She just strikes me as a much more earnest and innocent character. What happened to her in Chapter 6 instantly makes her likable. Kana’s biggest problem is that while she is knowledgeable, she tends to also be a bit of a know-it-all, and takes a mile when she’s given an inch.
I've thought a lot about the abstract parts of the show's themes. Speculating about love and lies and occasionally pulling the differently colored eyes into that. But it took me until just now to make the connection that while the stars in their eyes are certainly...well, stars. And working with the double-meaning of "a star". But the real thing I just noticed is that you could put two crow's feet back to back and arrive at the same star shape. Which is extremely far-fetched, but hey, who knows. Akasaka has surprised me a ton throughout the show, maybe that'll actually be touched on when they finally get around to the eye stuff.
