A countdown of popular game shows, featuring memorable stories from The Generation Game to The Chase. The programme remembers memorable contestants, from a cheating major in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire to a contestant on The Krypton Factor who completed the assault course with a broken leg (as seen on When Gameshows Go Horribly Wrong). Featuring interviews with presenters including Judith Keppel, Gordon Burns, Vernon Kay, and celebrity contestants Richard Arnold and Kate Garraway.

The shows I used to watch as a kid were Get your own back, 50/50, Gladiators, The crystal maze, Fun house, Finders keepers & Fort Boyard

As a child in the 90s, I adored Run the Risk, Get Your Own Back (although the forfeit furnace horrified me, especially when they dropped MegaDrive games and teddy bears into it), Activ8 and who can forget The Crystal Maze, first with Richard O'Brien and then Ed Tudor-Pole!

36:21 ( What loved as a kid was Young Krypton Factor for the kids) and i recall the assault course was a feature of the American Adventure Theme Park where they filmed the Assault Course for kids

The unlikely sources aren't that all unlikely honestly. One of the most prolific game show winners of all time in the UK was Daphne Fowler (who appears at 21:47), who won Fifteen to One TWICE (and that wasn't easy!) and Going for Gold. Older people tend to acquire a lot of general knowledge and also calmness under pressure.

The winning contestant shown on the Sale of the Century 20:26 Daphne , is none other than Daphne Fowler one of the EggHeads on the BBC Gameshow Eggheads.....

1:12:19 To be fair to Eamon, that's a BS question. The Korean War only had 3 years of fighting (nearly 20 years for Vietnam) but they never signed a peace treaty. The Korean War is technically still going on, it's just in a cold war (ironic, as it was a proxy war for the US-USSR cold war).

I dunno why they think Anne Robinson is Evil doing The Weakest Link! I saw the Show here in Canada and she was ok! "Ice Queen" I would call her but not Evil!
