I've had the same one probably for over 9 years I bought mines at Walmart for 230 dollars, when I was living in Florida and I've never regreted it. I just sold it to my cousin because I was moving to the UK. If the plugs were the same I would have brought it with me.

The reviewer lives in the UK and uses the machine. I wonder why you sold it really because you could have used a step up/step down transformer that most people have used for years with these machines without any issues. Your cousin is lucky though.

Hello I have the same machine. And yes I love it and hate it at the same time lol. When I clean all my sergers I use Electronics compressed-gas. I have to go out side to clean them. Lol but that will take care of the mess. It’s just an idea. Thank you

I purchased two of these machines so I would have an identical backup when one is being serviced. I love how easy it is to thread this machine.

I love Brother Machines and Janome… sometimes if the serger moves when sewing the screw that holds the needle will losses and cause it to break…. That’s a bit too often, so check that… I usually check mine randomly before sewing

I have the same serger, but it is a 1634 model. I absolutely love it! I have taught myself how to do a rolled hem and how to gather! You are correct about the needles breaking. I will be purchasing a pack per your suggestion. Good review!

Great overall review! I have the same serger (for about 3 years now) and it's a fantastic machine. I'm gonna start playing with different color threads now I think! I have yet to do that.

Thanks Ashleigh Yeah using a complimentary mix of threads can create a cool weave on fabrics

I agree this machine is easy enough to thread.I’ve had mine 2 years and have not broken a needle. Lucky me.

I have the same serger. Second time I used it MY FAULT I broke the handle on the right side. It sat on my dresser growling at me since 2013 lol. Finally took it to be fixed, they threaded it. Just between us still do not know how to thread it but have begun to use it to finish seams. I do look at every video that comes out about it. Bought brand new from eBay for 188.00. She is not easy for me but we are still together.

I have the exact machine. Just replaced the blades last night. Many many months ago (or a year ago actually lol) I think I damaged the blades with too much fabric and it did cut anymore. That caused fabric buildup and a broken needle. Thankfully changing the needles and the blades were pretty easy though I ordered blades on Amazon (got a two pack for under $10). I was still using the machine after damaging the blades but had the feature turned off. Feels good to be back on track now

I have this machine, and I love it. It is possible the best entry-level overlocker on the market. From the price point, to the ease of use, to the function, the machine is a great first overlocker. I'm at the point where I'm outgrowing it, but I love the machine as an entry-level machine.

Can you tell me why you are outgrowing it? Are there many things you can't do with it? Or why you need an improvement? I was think it to buy one, buy I want to know if its going to fulfill my necesites for a long time or I am going to need something better pretty soon. I would really appreciate if you could answer me.

Great review. I own a Brother 3034D which is also very user friendly like the 1034D and a good investment.

I wish I had a serger, budget restraints. But, I have a basic mechanical sewing machine that I have to clean out after each clothing project, or it jams. I’ve never been happy with the look of a zig zag stitch or the function of it, on all the raw edges before construction. I’ve seen so many people use this brother machine in many videos, I did want this one. I started making my own clothes because I am underweight, the smallest adult sizes are too big. I was fed up, so about 5 years ago, I started making my own clothes, after learning to draft my own patterns.

The next video should be cleaning and maintaining your machines. Maintenance cause baby we gotta do that just to keep this thing going. Oiling points etc

I 🥰 your review. I've had this same one (For about 10 years) I got it for about $150/$180 at Hancock Fabrics when they were still around. The machine came with a brush for cleaning that was pretty much the size of a floss pic. The only thing I have a problem with is knowing what numbers to adjust it to especially if I haven't used it in awhile. Do you have any tips/ideas 🤔

I have both the Husqvarna overlock and the Baby Lock. I like the Baby Lock more because all around it's easier to thread and use.

Thanks alot for the info you shared. I also love Brother machinery too. I have a 3534DT. I believe it's a model after yours. It works well but lately my left thread wasn't working. Skipping alot. Do you ever have that problem and what do you do to rectify the problem? Much love to you and yours my dear Kim. ❤

It's sew straight right? And also overlock,I want to buy the one that sew straight, overlock and also botton holes?
@MinxWoods
@MinxWoods 9 месяцев назад
You need a regular sewing machine and a serger then! Serger/overlock don’t do straight stitches nor button holes, a sewing machine could have a overlock like stitch but won’t cut the fabric like a serger
