OMG, this is a business lesson in disguise! If I'm stuck in figuring something out, reevaluate my standpoint. If I'm on the right track, just approach the problem from a different perspective (angle)! Thanks, Sifu!

Very good. You have a strong voice and a confident position. Bruce Lee taught me indirectly through his book, Tao of Jeet Kune Do, as well as his movies, where one could see his dynamic moves. I did not have the opportunity to learn wing chun hand methods, but I developed my own. Simple angle attack was always one of my favorites and is especially successful when one has speed and timing, as well as reach. The fundamentals are very important here, and the ability to disguise the beginning of the SSA through feints and broken rhythm. One constantly feints and moves in rhythm, through footwork, until one senses a good opening. The rest is like a cobra strike.

Brilliant stuff dan, but i prefer the neck...its a bigger target. My sifu always said, if you miss the eye's you ultimately hit skull. If the finger is not conditioned enough they will break, and fights over. The throat is a bigger target, so you minimise potential damage to the finger. I suppose there no wrong way just i think a little bit safer for your digits, in the random kaos of violence. Remember wing chun 1st form the double finger jab is directed to the wind pipe or throat.

I just found your videos, I've always been a Bruce Lee fan since a little girl and grew to loving martial arts! I always wanted to learn, my mother was a single parent and we were poor so she never had the funds to send me. So I would watch martial art movies and mimic the moves, that was my training and it got me through school LoL! But I think this is wonderful sharing your knowledge!

Great video, I enjoy many of your business mentor videos and appreciate your exciting presentions! As i am also a chinese immigrant at the age of 11. Growing up in chinatown vancouver, my parents rented a 3bed room basement suite for only $600 and we lived there until I graduated. After years of working in the restaurant my parents were finally able to bite down their teeth and got a mortgage on a house near templeton highschool. Also being very passionate in kung fu in an early age, largely due to classic hong kong cinema. In highschool ive found my way to take a few month of classes on muay thai mma jujitsu and wing chun. But now owning my first condo 3 years ago at the age of 24, my priority is always looking harder than ever to find and work toward my financial freedom so i can do what i l love, write and direct my own movies. Anyways i enjoyed your videos and can really relate with you on your passion in life, finance and kung fu. Only thing i want to say is check out Leo Lit in richmond he has a wing chun school teaching Chu shong Tin lineage wing chun. I think youd be interested to learn and compare. Ciao godbless ;)

Great tips again, will try it. I notice when freestyling on the wooden dummy I do this randomly, now I will seek to keep it specifically in mind. Changing angles makes it difficult to defend against, as action beats reaction. Did you get some new training space? Looks like a nice workout room, good for lap-da practice too...

So Dan, been thinking about this question for a bit because my chiropractor is encouraging me to participate in his classes, how does one view the practice of Qigong from a JKD perspective? What fundamental skills are useful, and what must be viewed as mysticism and useless? And what can JKD practioners absorb and incorporate into their practice, drawing from Qigong? Look forward to the responses.

Hi Dan , I watched a Jim demille video , he was saying that Bruce liked to be squared off to an opponent rather than having one side forward , explaining that both hands can be used just as easily , remember he is speaking of the Seattle time frame , Jim also explained that later Bruce began changing and that bruce developed jeet kune do , but in the seattle days Bruce didn't have jkd , but what he called jun fan , can you shed some light on this ?

Well done as a former British Kikkuwan TKD Champion, I know how hard foot work can be and it works great if you are a natural at dancing too and have natural rythmn, I thought I could not dance and was a a neighbours party ,a black family and a Jamaican was t here and he said to my mom who is he, she said that is my son why? He said he can dance like a black man but him look white or Arab. That leads me to a Bruce Lee quote when he said I do not worry for the man who practices 100 punches a day 100 kicks a day etc etc,,, I worry about the man who does 10,000 punches a day or 10,000 kicks a day. Do not forget to get explosive force and explosive speed you need to train in Isometrics, Overwhelming Isometrics and the hardest of all Speed Overwhelimg Isometrics, how can you do speed with it, well like you have dum bells too heavy to normally hold up right without shaking, so what you do it take it from the ground straight up fast hold it down fast up fat hold it down fat and increase speed, but you first before this need to turn your body in to iron, this is best done with Wing Chun and Muy Thai style training of using again a form of Isometrics by trying to move immoveable objects like living solid hard wood tree's for arm, forearm, elbow, punch. side kick, round house kick and other kicking, but I am lucky to be naturally fast on my feet, my Sifu Master Suu Kyi Yeoung was a student alongside the legend Jhoon Gee rhee who was a student and teacher to Bruce Lee, he taught Lee the Kwan System of TKD and it proved to be the best use at long range to medium range fighting, medium range I tend to find Western Boxing or Kali, close range Wing Chun and if you get me grappling, I do not do good at that except locking people, well then I will bite your arm or leg uyntil I damage y our nerves permanently and that is what Sifu Sage Bree Lee, Lee Jun Fan taught us in the series Long Street; Jeet Kune Do Episode Circa 1971, he returned from Hong Kong to teach the philosophy of JKD to the wide audience for the first time ever. So like Sifu Dan Lok I too am 2 steps from Sifu Sage Bruce Lee himself via Suu Kyi Yeoung and then Jhoon Gee Rhee and then Bruce Lee. @@Sanjeev9411906770

it's amazing because it works also with the opponent's psychology. The opponent look you do an attack with a movment and the body record how is the attack if you start with that movment. So, without consciuss the body act to defend like the first times you attacked when the opponent start to look the movment

Telegraphing is the biggest mistake fighters make.land a punch or a kick is done by combinations back fist was. Bruce best starting move people say Bruce had the fastest punch in the world but it was not a punch it was the back fist which is not a punch at all a back fist is completely different than a punch it is by itself straight front punch was like a back fist in a way because you deliver it with the same telegraphic movement your body comes forward movement with the speed and strength and weight of you body extending at the end of your reach Bruce saw that in every punch and kick the power was at the end of the extension of his hole body so the power was also at the end of the extension I saw Bruce at Coldfield house Maryland u years ago Jeff smith was my instructor for years with the jhoon rhee schools I will miss him he passed this year .jhoon Rhee rip
