Great cars.... I had a 1967 Mk3..... most fun ever... especially on maintenance. Always remove any fibre glass mods and put original steel back on..... much more stable at speed.

Distaste….. it is a classic….designed by an Italian genius… and built in England using ancient technology….. sold for a bargain price…. A fantastic piece of motoring history…. Can’t drive them without smiling…remember without British cars like this…. No MX5 et al ❤❤

The 1500 in the name of the car, Spitfire 1500, indicates it is a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder.

these guys were slightly mocking the car.... and yet it appeared they had a ton of fun. i liked the spitfire so much when i drove someone elses spitfire.... that i had to go and buy my own. the italian styling drew me in over an mgb at first.

It's a 1500cc engine. I've got one myself. Luckily the British cars had a higher compression and twin SU carbs unlike the American ones. P.S the way you folded that roof and the fact your oil line isn't connected to the valve cover makes me cry.

You flip the sun visors above the roof to stop the sun coming your eyes - and you drive it like you stole it. Try double de-clutching to get a better gear change - think the video says more about the driver's ability than anything to do with The Spit.

It’s more fun to drive an underpowered car hard than to drive an overpowered car civilly. It’s all about the work you are willing to put in. Has he never driven an older car?

Yea so, you'll want to have Bryan have the clutch release cable or linkage/hydraulics inspected to ensure that the throw out arm is properly releasing the clutch all the way. There may also be other issues that are more complicated such as engine end play or all sorts of other mechanical/clutch/flywheel stuff that may cause that issue. No need to smoke the clutch/flywheel or damage the transmission before his kid even gets the drive the car. That would be a shame for him, but gravy for a tech. On another note, Bryan makes an excellent additional to the channel and should come on when available/wants to and or life allows.

You can't stow the soft top that way without tearing it. You release the catches at the windshield, unsnap ALL the snaps on the soft top frame, all the snaps around the back on the body, then gently raise the top while pulling the clear rear window back flat over the trunk lid. Once the frame settles into its lowered position, you then fold the soft top forward over it and fasten it. This is all in the owner's manual. Makes me cringe to watch.

I don't know if I can get my foot off the clutch is classic Matt! Damn, those old British cars were utterly unreliable. Did you activate launch control? Lol!
