I’m praying all my heart to Denny. Tell him my birds are rooting for him to get better

My first budgie, Randy, died. He was not feeling good in the evening, then I left to do my homework after putting him in a separate cage, then after this, I planned to take him to the avian vet the next day (because avian vets here close at 7 and its late), but when I checked on him, he was frozen in the floor, and me and my dad checked Randy’s heartbeat, and it was quiet. Randy died at 8:41pm, January 7 and I made a death certificate of the bird in my budgie diary. Now, I am checking the other members of the flock if they were infected by Randy. His mate, Cheryl was looking for him that evening, because every bird had a mate there, and she slept lonely. I did not know if it was respiratory infection, because he was just tired and sleepy and not panting like Denny. Randy Budgiekeet was buried in the garden 2 feet under the ground after he died. Last week, my grandmother also died. Atleast my grandma in heaven has a bird beside her, and she’s not lonely...

My two birdies had respiratory issues, one didnt make it, in three days marks the day he left us. I hope that denny gets better and lives a long happy and healthy life with you

Thank you for the informative video about Budgie respiratory infection. I am Mommy to 10 Budgies. My Budgies have had respiratory infection, too. I know how difficult it is when our Budgies get sick on a weekend or holiday and the veterinarian is not available. It is very important to keep sick Budgies very warm. I purchased a reptile basking spot lamp bulb (75 watt) at my local pet store. The Basking spot lamp is outside of the cage, very close to the cage. When I have a sick Budgie, I immediately turn the warm reptile lamp on. The sick Budgie always perches very close to the warm bulb. When the sick Budgie is feeling better it is important to keep the warm light on for a few more days...they can quickly get their illness back again. Important to clean Budgie cage, toys, food and water cups with a solution of vinegar and water. I scrub all wooden perches and put them in oven to bake for 1 hour at a low temperature (200 degrees Fahrenheit) to kill bacteria. You can also plug in a heating pad (made for humans) on top of the bird cage for warmth. Praying for Denny!!!

this makes me sad because i think my budgie has this problem too and i’ve talked about it to my mom many times but she won’t allow me to take him to the vet :(( even if i beg her and tell her i’ll pay myself she doesn’t allow it. it’s really frustrating, i just wanna take care of my baby

My budgie,Atom died 2 years ago because of eye infection😓😫😢. And I didn't know how to treat him. I am sorry,Atom. He looked like Denny. Just little more bluish on the chest. God bless you, Denny

My budgie Tweetie is a survivor from hypothermia my room is cold and he fell in his water bowl but long story short he is now happy and healthy i believe Denny will stay alive and fight the infection.

I'm not surprised at the fungal infection, as I commented on it on your previous video. It looks like he is responding positively to his treatments, but these types of infections often take a long time to get under control. You will have to be patient. It is a good thing that it is not contagious so that Denny can continue to socialize with the others, which I'm sure keeps his spirits up, along with the excellent care you and your mother are giving him. I hope he gets through it OK!

I hope Denny gets well soon! My buds had several infections (gut-related) and they made a full recovery everytime despite being dealt a bad hand in the beginning. You can't prevent them from being sick, even with the best precautions in the world, but Denny is a fighter, he will make it through with your good care! :)

Yay Denny! Yay mom! It looks like Denny is getting better. Let's cross our fingers. On a related note, my cockatiel used to get viral infections alot more frequently. Now that I started washing her drinking cup with vinegar once a week, she hasn't been sick. I would say that my cleaning her cage frequently, especially the cage bottom and washing her drinking cup with vinegar once a week has made a big difference, improving her health.

My mockingbird was acting funny and she started to wheeze so I was really scared. She’s a fledgling, her mother fell out of the nest and couldn’t open her wings in time. Poor thing. I wanted to take care of her, this is our second day. She will lay in my hands and even waddle towards me if I’m reading, drawing, or on my phone. I gave her some water and she got her little screech back haha. I was worried she had been choking on something! She’s alright, thankfully.

We tragically lost our female budgie (Coco) last night to this disease.😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪 I can’t imagine what my male budgie (Buddie) is going through. Thank god he is still eating…..but the chirping and him being alone is soooooooo hurting us! Such a SAD DAY.

We can see runny nose there... Left untreated, they die from not being able to breathe. One of the things that helps them the most for this is frequent steam inhalation with eucalyptus or peppermint. Thank God you did that for Denny and made things bearable for the cute little guy. You have to keep wiping off that runny or watery discharge too....all the little things that help the bird.

Wish I would’ve watched this video sooner. My budgie passed sometime last night or during the early morning. She had all the bad signs to the point where she was to weak to even move. I was a first time bird owner very inexperienced didn’t help the matters that I received her as a present. It broke my heart to see her like that. Glad she isn’t suffering anymore since I was too stupid to know she was sick until the very last minute.

My birds and I love watching your videos of little Denny. He makes me smile every time I see him. I want him to be happy and healthy! You've done some great research and have some very valuable information at the beginning of the video about fungal infections. But I noticed that the medications Denny is being given (mentioned in this video and in your other posts) are antibiotics and are for bacterial not fungal respiratory infections. Has Denny been diagnosed with a FUNGAL respiratory infection? The symptoms of both a fungal and bacterial respiratory infection look the same but the treatment will be different for each. Antibiotics won't work for a fungal infection! If different antibiotics have not been working this may very well be a fungal infection. Please ask your vet, and let me know if you have questions. I need some advice so please if anyone reads this leave a comment because I’m super worried. My budgie Blu is almost a year old, and a few days ago I noticed him panting and picking excessively at his feathers so we took him to the vets. After examining him he said he could have mites so we got some medicine to give him, however he was concerned about his breathing, and when examining him he began panting more quickly. We have antibiotics to give to to him everyday for 3 weeks and we’re really struggling to get him to have it. We’ve tried it worth millet but he’s learnt that it has medicine and refuses to eat it, even a clean one either no medicine. we’ve tried with a variety of different fruits and again he isn’t interested and after holding it there for a while he becomes agitated and starts moving round the cage quickly. We can’t give it to him by holding him outside of the cage because we believe this will cause him a large amount of stress which could kill him. We’re at a loss of what to do, his breathing is still extremely fast and I can tell he isn’t feeling well but we can’t get the antibiotics in him and I’m worried that he will just deteriorate in front of my eyes. We’re going to call a specialist vet today since our regular vets said there is nothing else they can do for us, but we’re not sure if they can do anything for us either without us trekking him quite a way away. I have a few questions and I was widening if anyone knew any answers? I’m desperate and I need to know the answers ASAP, I’ve googled them but I’m getting no answers 😞. Can budgies get better without the antibiotics? Will his breathing get better or worse? How else am I supposed to get him to take the medicine? Please if anyone sees this please please answer (if you know of course) thank you, I’m so scared for my budgie and I feel so helpless right now 🙁

One time I took my two budgies down to play, my parents and my sisters weren't home so when my lutino budgie began snowing signs of sickness (strange head bobbing, vomiting) I was nearly driven to tears due to how afraid I was a few days pass and she hasn't showed symptoms since this was about a month or 2 ago and still no signs

Currently crying my eyes out because I can't take my budgie to the vet and it seems to have breathing problems

I little budgie naked blue isn’t doing so well. He’s been very inactive and he’s alway happy chirping loud. But for the past 2 days he’s been sleeping a lot with feathers fluffed up and some tail bobbing. I have another budgie in there with him and I wonder if he knows he sick and he’ll take care of him. I don’t have any avian vet near me. I know budgies don’t cost much and I could buy another one but no other budgie could replace blue. These birds have a life too so I care. I hope my blue gets better.

I would die for Denny

Hi Denny the budgie one more thing u can try for fungal infection. Carom seeds 1/4 tea spoon boil in water and mix 1/2 tea spoon in their drinking water. Give for 2 days. But don't use it often cz this too strong and can effect their liver. But once in a while it's ok to give. But if u r giving paracetamol keep few days gap. Cz paracetamol also very powerful. If u r giving some liver tonic with medicine it will be gd otherwise too medicine can harm their liver
