Absolute nightmare !!!! But we got there . And yes I broke two also :( had massive trouble tucking front wing wires up . What an awesome build. And now got the powermodz fitted too .

Hello Wayne, another great Ecto 1 build, this is one of those builds like the Orca, R2D2, Bismarck and the Millenium Falcon that you do not want to end, i'm loving it, all the best, Lee.

Found this very stressful Wayne. I do not think they thought about how difficult it would be to get the 2 halves together. Definitely a 2 person job. A complete nightmare. Got lots of wires sticking out. Lights kept turning themselves off. I will be glad when this is finished. Will be building the Batmobile, & decided it will be my last ever build, due to my poor eyesight.

10 screws to hold two unstressed plastic panels together, after another 16 to hold the bits in between them in position...and four to hold the top and bottom halves of the entire vehicle together. Perfectly logical.

'... I've already done mine...' We can't take you anywhere can we? :) Or as the step-father of a friend once said.. 'You can take him anywhere.. twice.. the second time is to apologise' *lol*

Right for anyone who's broken the lights off the roof I have a fix that's better than the original or superglue. I bought 2 types of superglue ( not Poundland type ) and the light just would not glue so I did the following steps bellow. 1 - removed the roof liner while the car is put together, it can be done very easily 2 - unscrew the broken bits of the light - The D shape. 3 - with a tiny drill bit or like me I used the smallest Flat blade screw in my Halfords £4 precision driver set and enlarged the hole and ran the hole right through the D chrome bit so it is now hollow. 4 - with the same drill bit or flat screw driver put a hole in the bottom of the broken light about 2-3mm deep 5 - find some QM screws from the extra EM give you 6 - refit as you would have done originally , when the threads of the QM poke through the broken D pop on the broken light and screw up The light now will be tight AND can be removed if you need to pop the car on it's roof again by untwisting the light.

Brilliant video! Can't begin to imagine if one of the electrics did not work or come undone and you would have to take it apart again

That was a huge task, but the car is looking great, I was very excited to see the blue pipes going in, all the specific bits and pieces that go on the top and sides of the car are really nice to me, I think I'm going to feel that every time we add one of the wacky gadgets on there, I'm especially looking forward to the ghost sniffer being added, that was one of the parts my car was missing, I had to send away for a replacement, but when that came it was very exciting for me.

Finally got there and as some people are keeping there body and frame separate. They will now know when thay will empty a box or shelf. Loving the build as all ways. Stay safe all.

Oh dear, breakages galore. Looking great though. My favourite movie car of all time is now nearly done. The roof rack is where all the character is with this one. It's the roof that turns this from a Miller Meteor to Ecto 1.

I think I figured out your mistake on the partition. As identified by your friend from Russia: Following the image of where you're installing the partition - we need to switch it around so that the Speakers are facing out toward the back of the car. Above (at 6:46 into video) you have the speakers facing the front of the car - which to me would be the most logical. Why have speakers facing away from you? I bow to the Master for fixing the door problem without taking the body apart - but for grasshopper (little King Fu lingo there - David Caradine TV show) - I'd take the body apart! BUT thanks for the heads up on your livestream!

When I start getting my parts from the UK eagle moss, I'm going to mention that I watch your channel.

That was a very good video. those roof lights were a problem and although you try everything to prevent damage it happened, the wiring looked so confusing, luckily they all work.

Heh. Even when I got the replacement lamps I ended up breaking one of the wires so had to wait another month for that to be replaced! Finally turned up with issue 34 so I was able to join the car together at last...and still managed to break off two of the new lamps plus the bit for the wing mirror on the left side of the car. Bit of glue, no problem. But yeah, joining the two parts was an absolute 'mare and I've knackered the ceiling lights as they don't work when I open a door BUT everything else with the electrics seems to be okay, so I can live with that.

Already broke all four lights on top without even getting as far as issue 32, waiting for replacements and then I can "get cracking". Quite nervous about putting this big bastard together but also excited at the same time.

Somehow got mine joined together easier than I thought, I pushed in sideways before turning over. Though somehow my right door has come off. Worst case scenario I will display left side facing! Haven't got all the bottom screws to go in but I'm not going to be moving it after stage 140 so shouldn't be an issue

Great video Wayne … bet there was a sigh of relief when all the electrics worked.. don’t think you want to have to take it apart again to fix any that didn’t work!

This is the part that broke me on this build. I broke those 4 lights twice and glued them back together. I'm waiting for my soft work mat before I try to progress any further on this because I know I'm going to break something else. That and I can't get the partition wall to fit correctly. I think the body is torqued and the partition won't fit correctly.

It must be nice Wayne, it's been five months since I got a shipment. I'm still on 71!

hi wayne, great build, im really enjoying building the KITT, so it some point a would like to build the ecto 1

I don't recall in the movie where there was a window in that partition it was open when I get mine I'm leaving it open.

I have the four flood lights now and since they have wires that will be on top I may super glue or epoxy these in place after the bottom is attached to the top and the car won,t have to be flipped again, this is a very weak spot on this.

I combined issue 32 yesterday no matter what I did they keep those lights from breaking I broke three out of four and I messed up the wires to the three out of four were two of the lights ain’t work and I splice them open and try fusing them nothing and I have a couple wires pinched in between the frame and the inside of the car I don’t know how I did that but thankfully I’m not super OCD I know this car is going to sit on my shelf so I’m not too worried I did use glue for the lights other than that the car is looking really nice

Hi Wayne another get video I'm following you with the build just done issue 25 and from what I've just seen in this video not only will the ecto look amazing but as a complete novice I'm bricking it when it comes to this issue

Really looks good, I can now get this model here in Australia, so am going to get it, as am real big fan of the Ghostbusters franchise, model is coming on really well now. You're also doing well with that sign behind you, 39 days without an accident, "Well done"

Over across the pond here and I'm getting quite frustrated w/ Eaglemoss' "back order." I've been stuck waiting for parts since the end of 2021 (for "issues 103 +). Can you put in a good word for me Mate? lol Anywho - thanks for these vids; at least I can better imagine what my particular Ecto-1 build will be all about. Cheers!

Hey Wayne it's been a while, i just assembled my Ecto1 and still waiting for parts ti finish this superb model, i subscribed 3 years ago and they stopped sending parts to Ireland last year...strange, gotta get in touch with them. Few things for this assemble: I didn't take the back wheel off and the model just clicked easy enough but i had to open the front doors in order to click perfect and to put the two parts together, just a thought. Thanks for your directions cause the magazine is very bad at showing how to build this.

I can't believe Wayne I've still not received the replacement door and never got hinges either.

Hey Wayne! I watched this video twice (first on the phone, then on the computer) and in addition to the missing door lock, I noticed an error in the installation of the partition wall. So, it needs to be turned with the convex part towards the driver, and the speakers towards the passenger side) It’s bad that you have to remove the body again because of this and I hope that this time nothing will break. I hope you understand what I mean because I am using a translator (I am your subscriber from Russia). I wish you a good future build! 🙂

I am nowhere near this stage, so if I'm wrong, then I'm wrong... but... could it be that you installed the partition wall the wrong way in? I believe the speakers (which are not even suppose to be there in the first place) should be directed towards the cargo area

Not gonna lie....I'm really nervous about doing this stage (just had 29 and 30 delivered over the weekend). Not to be "that guy", but I did notice it looked like you're also missing the door lock on the outside of the left rear door. I know you talk about your OCD, so just thought I'd mention it.

broke 2 top lights lol and ive got side mirror missing as well seems this pack was for old door we replaced, let me know about side mirror if you find out where it was or even if we havent had it yet bud

both my ecto-1 and delorean have been delayed since last October with no ETA, my millenium falcon is now 15 months delayed. I actually packed it up to the attic, thinking they went bankrupt

In notice that you have skinned your knuckles on your left hand! Does this mean that the 'accident' count goes back to zero?

For once Eaglemoss hav done the smart thing by using the2Blue exterior rubber tubes to both feed through/protect the wires at the same time

Hello, Wayne! Can you give me some advice on how to detach wires from other wires? They are so hard connected, so i am afraid of breaking them.

Hi Wayne. I’ve got as far as laying the Ecto on it’s side and testing the electrics. I had issues as none of the lights came on. By a lucky break, I undid cable S (ceiling lights) and suddenly, all the lights started to work. I took the ceiling panel back out again and tested it again - lights worked once front door was open. Any idea what happened? Was there a circuit shirt somewhere? Putting it back together tomorrow as it’s quite tiring on the back 🤣

Really don't know how you got yours together. Mine traps wires at every attempt and then the back gets stuck as I try to lift it out. Half my lights don't work when none have been pinched. It's now sat on its roof to collect dust as I've lost patience with it

Well, one good thing: I guess for people just starting this model out, you just showed them to leave that left wheel off to the side until you get to this point in the build. It's so confusing to me. Like, why make a model where you put so much on only to have to take it off down the line? It's like the people at Eaglemoss made it overly complex, making you risk causing more damage to your model. They could have kept the left wheel off, as well as those tabs that you broke, until it was time to put the car together completely. I mean, they gave you parts in Stage 1 of the James Bond car that you didn't use until, like, Stage 70 or something. So it's not like they're against that notion. Just...some of how they do these models makes no sense to me. But great job all the same!

Hi Wayne, model is looking amazing, so close to being finished. Definitely the biggest car build you've done. Speaking of almost finished, what happened to the Peugeot and spitfire builds? Both were close to finished and haven't and any uploads for almost 3 months in the case of the Peugeot.

Finally got my issue 32... any advice for an idiot (me) that needs to remove the centre cap on the wheel that needs removing ??

My parts came minus the magazine, so your video will be very helpful. On a side note did I notice the box for a Pocher Ducati while you were fiddling on the floor? Would be interested to know how you rate it vs the part works.

The positive thing now is that after this pack you will never need to turn this model upside down.

Was that easier than sandwiching the Delorean together?

Hey Wayne,obviously Eaglemoss/Hero Collector should have had the know-how to make a contingency plan for all the externals like the wing mirrors,roof lights,and antenna's.They could have made those out of metal to make them a little stronger so they wouldn't break as easily like brittle plastic is. But quick question but is there any 1/8th Scale Figures out to add to the car?.I really want a set of poseable figures of Winston,Peter,Ray,and Egon as it just doesn't seem complete without them and also the spud Slimer as the bumbling nuisance character.I sure hope someone will do articulated figures of them what do you think?.Anyway I envy you at now being within 3 more releases from completion. Last thing but has there been any word on when the Enterprise D is gonna get back on schedule for releases?

I’m having just as hilarious a time! They sent out issue 29 + replacement door. Never turned up. While waiting for that - I got issue 30 & 31. Now I’ve been told the replacement issue/door will be sent with issue 33 as 32 is about to be dispatched. More annoying. Wayne - my right rear door doesn’t close properly without lifting it slightly. Hinges are as tight as can be. Any idea what the problem could be?

Anyones interior lights will not turn off ? I've checked switches , wiring , connectors and just will not turn off unless you turn off the car. It's not really an issue as I don't think it will ever get powered on once it's on the shelf. I'm wondering if the main board maybe faulty in the chassis of the vehicle.

Do all of the electrics actually work when you connect up the bodyframe to main car itself? Unlike what happened with the1:8 Delorean build whereby none of the electrics worked at all🤔🤨😬🤷‍♂️
