It may not matter a lot in your application, however if you want to lock those blocks together without using mortar there are products that are fiber reinforced boding cements that you can just coat the outside of the blocks with (basically paint it on) and it will also help hide the individual blocks better. Would also look better once painted especially if you decide to leave the bottom half open. We used it all the time when stacking blocks to support HVAC units under homes. It definitely improves overall stability and wouldn’t cost that much for what you’re doing here.

Silicone would be enough not to make them slide if thats something a person worries about and easy to remove.

I used to watch Joey's channel a lot and his content is good. However, virtually every time I checked in to see what he was up to something had changed! New tanks, new builds, different fish. I was almost dizzy, I couldn't keep up, lol. By his own admittence he had to do it that way to keep things interesting, to keep his viewers entertained. Being Joey must be absolutely exhausting. I bet he wishes he could just set up a tank, leave it the way it is an enjoy watching his fish. This latest 16ft tank will be interesting, though how long he has it for god only knows, lol.

As a younger person I didn’t know what support meant under a fish tank and I put a couple of cinderblocks under each side of the fish tank and failed to support the middle of the tank and of course it’s split right down the middle length wise and the tank let loose all over my living room so the moral of the story is😅 support the middle of your tank all the way around support support support!!!!

I’m so glad you made this video just started watching but I’ve been wanting to see another large aquarium build i would love to build my own! Now that I know it’s plywood I would love to see how you do the join’s because they only come in 8feet if you could touch on this in later videos would be a great help! While the cinders are cheap. You are wasting a lot of space under the tank. Space you can use for other tanks or sumps. At this point Joey you channel is not about doing stuff cheap it's about doing it right and the best way to meet your needs.

Why don’t you use 4x4x16’ for the base? More support and coverage for the bottom plywood! And they are only about US$24 each! Also, the top tank would be more stable, I think….
