Using cyclesmiths pedals and pegs, I was able to match by floorboards for a super clean look. Very happy how this came out! Website. www.cyclesmiths.com/ Instagram @cyclesmithsinc
Gotta admit this bike is not my style but you can see how much work has gone into it amazing job. The camera work and vide production unmatched better than the subject.
Damn it! I hadn't even noticed the little hump in my forks until you mentioned it! I did the 2 1/2" cartridge drop but the hump is just below my beer cans.
Great pep talk mate!👍your absolutely right, get the right part once👌what’s another week or two of saving and sourcing what you really want🧐 I don’t know about anyone else but I find it so bloody hard to decide as there’s so many goodies out there to choose from🤪🥴😂😏😉 Nice start off to the vid too👏loving the drone shots💯Keep up the good work n Cholo on🙌😎
Bike looks so sick, been following for a while man. In the process of choloing out my heritage. You're spot on with buying the parts you want the first time, there's a few things I got cheaper that I want to now change, like my 14" bars, going to some 16 gangsters eventually and just ordered 36" Samson pipes.
Thanks Chris, yeah I learned that the hard way. And I still make that mistake from time to time. Thanks for the support bro, and good luck with the heritage build. A few big items coming before spring.
Your vids are dope my guy! Really looking forward to my own build!! That song at the end kills!!! That little drop said it all for me... I f^*ks with you!!!!!
Great looking sled. Watching the progression of your machine inspired me to rework by softail. I love the Cholo style and have geared that direction with my own twisted style. By the looks of your page, you've directed and inspired quite a few of us by documenting your build. Thanks for the great info and keep up the great work. Wondering if your friend finished his rebuild out?
Your bike looks really nice. Ever thought about installing a round crash bar and the rear rounded crash bars. I’d do a engine chrome kit too. That would really get heads turning.
$1k worth of floorboards and pegs! I love the look. I want to upgrade and build a cholo, but my Sportster cost me $3k. I am way too frugal for that. Maybe I can build a barrio.
Totally agree about buy it first time, ive been guilty of this myself, as for my build John, "still" waiting on the wheels, only another month fingers crossed before the end of Feb. However the Samson pipes arrived 🙉
Mine I went retro old school got harleys heritage style floor boards with black rubber foot pegs and shifter and brake pedals got their nostalgic air cleaner cover gonna do dna wheels this year and white walls chrome the front end out next year about have to leave stock ride height I live in southern Illinois way to shitty roads to have it slammed and ride 2 up a lot with my olady but when riding by myself it’s solo time most everything is quick detach
@@JETFILMCHANNEL it dose I have been buy parts after parts and don't look right and didn't really understand but now I see what u mean . My next buy is 6 in stretch rear fender
@@JETFILMCHANNEL please do a video on how to put the rear fender on there alot of guys out here that intimidated and not sure if they can do it right . But having watching ur video it east our mind a little and give us the confident to do tackle with it ourselves.
I've always wanted a bike but could never find a style of build till I saw the Cholo but do have a question i was gonna paint the bike emerald green with brass or Bronz pin stripes would black chrome clash with the primary choice of color also plan on having brass or bronz throughout the bike
I ride down to those temps but not on a Cholo I got my FLHR with windshield and full leather and heated gloves .. those little hand shields too.. and I crack out the full helmet and balaclava. Hwy blasts on the way to work .. ppl think I’m nuts Yea yo bad bro.. - 19 with bars and no wind protection
Great videos! I watch them all, I don't own a deluxe but a 2015 softail slim with heritage style fenders. I have been checking out Cyclesmith thanks to you and love them. I will go with the waffle style but a little bummed they only have floorboards and break pedal but it's a good start. I would really like you to critique my bike is there any way to send you a few pics and hear your opinion? Let me know what you think...
Filmora for the video editing and Audacity and FL studio for the audio editing. Cameras are an assortment of go pros, panasonic vx870, panasonic dvx200, DJI mavic pro. But let me tell you, equipment only gets you so far, imagination is 90% of the game.
Bro I want to buy a 2nd hand softail deluxe here in Australia but unsure whats classed as to many kms or in your case miles for a bike to have been ridden.
Also damn riding in that weather ? I looked it up and that was like -7°C ? The coldest I've been riding in was 2°C Right now it's 0°C,32°F for u :D But I saw it will start to warm up soon, might get back to riding this month 😁
Can I ask how you found those CS rear pegs, I see they are not an angled bracket like the HD ones, I note you seem to have placed a bolt and lock nut where these connect to the bracket. Does the oem washer not hold them tight and you find them fitting loose and falling down? Thanks for the vids btw-great content.
They sell them on the CycleSmiths website. Also good eye on the clevis connection bolt and nut. I find that the OEM style connection (pin and spring washer) don't work very well. They allow the pegs to move TOO freely, especially after years of use. The bolt and nut solution adds a level of "tightness" to the up or down position that the pegs are in. In other words, it takes a lot more force to move them, which I like. As far as the peg mounting brackets (which connect to the frame) I found them on Ebay. A much simpler design than the angled ones and a fraction of the price. Frame bolt comes with the bracket and I used 2 nuts (tightened against each other) on the inside of the frame to hide the excess bolt threads and provide additional fail-safe security.
So I'm not a big fan of Kuryaken, but I checked them out because you asked and I've got to say the mirror design isn't bad. What I didn't like was the mirror stems, they were a little too funky for me the way it splits into two. And then there's the typical Kuryaken absurd price tag
Nah, the stitching seems to stay white. I do throw some general cleaner on the seat every now and then though, but the stitching is very resilient. Stained it once from a fabric bleeding color when it was raining, I just rubbed it with some simple green and the white came right back.
@@JETFILMCHANNEL thank you, I love that seat I just ordered one from lepera it’s going to take six weeks. I have another quick question for you I noticed you kept your stock pully, when you put on your 18” dna wheels did you have to get a pully spacer as well? Thanks again for your time.
Thanks, the boards are 19" and they're holding up great. Although i haven't put too many miles on them this winter. I'll definitely put them to the test this year though. Thanks for the support!
Ehh... those “highway/driver pegs” gotta go man. Makes it look too busy-too much rite there in that immediate area (at least in my opinion), [&no one runs them on the dozens I know personally]. And this is the home & epicenter of the ‘Vicla Style’ bike. Definitely a Gorgeous GORGEOUS bike tho brother. 🙌🏻. Good shit!
Quick question bro , do you have the original kick stand or did you swap it out ? I lowered my bike 2” front and rear and sits straight doesn’t seem sturdy with the kick stand
Yeah, original kickstand. It's fine on level ground but it the ground is canted, even slightly (out of favor for a sturdy lean) then I have to reposition the bike. To me, it's a small price to pay for the lowered look. And I actually prefer the bike being more straight up than leaning way over. It just looks better and it helps keep the front wheel straight more so than if it were leaning over
@@JETFILMCHANNEL okay , the only way for my bike to stay up is if I turn my bars right and it’ll stand straight if I turn the bars left it won’t stay up it’ll tip over , do you have the same issue ?
The mirrors currently on the bike are some $25 ebay 3" mirrors. I would recommend going with something nicer. These have lost their luster with me, so I finally just ordered new mirrors.
Tons and tons of new mods. Just waiting on the fenders and tank to get back from the paint shop, been there since early Feb. Filming starts in early April
The apes are 16" on 2" risers. And the headlight visors I think I got on eBay for about $50, 3+ years ago. Don't spend big money on visors, the cheap ones are the exact same without the markup.
Not the exact one, but the same style. They're called novelty helmets. **Not DOT approved** www.ebay.com/itm/Eagle-Novelty-Flat-Black-Motorcycle-Half-Helmet-Cruiser-Biker-S-M-L-XL-XXL-/183772128659?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
@@JETFILMCHANNEL As you said in your video, you've got to know what you don't like. I think for me, pipes extending too far back are not the way I like it. But on your bike, they are just right. I think I'd have them just a touch shorter. If that's even possible. All in all now I think that I do want to have two Harley's keep my Road Glide and sell. my street bob and get older delux, like yours and go Cholo.
Love the bike ! I just bought a 2011 Deluxe that I want to go cholo with and I’m only watching your videos because you have the style like I like ! Plus I was born in West Chester but Pa ! Lol live in Reading now . But anyway starting my build as we speak and thank you for the great ideas ! I’m stuck between the mustache crass bar and the full one . My road king has the full one so tho king mustache for the Deluxe! Any thoughts ? Mine is candy rootbeer light and candy rootbeer dark .
Ive noticed youve got shot of the rear crash bars? Personally I like them and will be fitting some myself, but I know why you'll have taken yours off, well I think, youve got a full size on the rear and a mustache on the front, you can if you prefer the front style more get a mustache rear to match up unless you just decided away with it 😅
Good eye, I did take them off. They stuck out way to far for my taste. I'm toying with the idea of cutting and re-welding about 3" of the horizontal sections to shorten up their wingspan. And i wasn't aware of rear mustache crash bars. The only other bars I've seen were the much different looking linby bars.
@@JETFILMCHANNEL why don't you sell them off to Sam? You'll prob only regret cutting them up as welding them now will probs just burn the chrome... Check out IG, there's a lady called Ms Peechiii. She's got a set on her Cholo, they look like a good match for your profile front guard 👍
I've seen her bars, those are the lindby bars, not a huge fan of the look. Sam's bike would probably look good with them if they fit considering he already has the bags which widen the rear, good suggestion. Modifying them is still on the table, but not a priority at the moment. Too many other mods happening right now, fenders, paint, air ride, pulley, cams, lights, trim, etc. Paint is holding up the next film, but they're going to be coming out quickly after that.
Ha ha ha super epic celebration scene and u end it with, “took about 30 min” 🤣🤣🤣 too funny! hey I’m building a cholo. Is there somewhere fans can email you to show a bike off maybe u can comment on the fans bike’s on a episode?
