Double check the ribbon cables are connected properly, what psp do you have? There are several ways the analogue stick can connect. I’d say it’s just a loose connection somewhere but let me know how you go I’m happy to walk you through some stuff to check

Sorry to hear that, you might be able to replace the faceplate without changing the rest of the console quite easily, a complete reshell is a bit of a process as you can see haha, if you want to post it to me then you can DM me but obviously with shipping etc. that does take a lot longer :)

Thanks mate, I got the shell from Aliexpress, it is possible to use a 3k shell on a 2k but not advisable due to differences internally it does require some cutting etc. and the parts don't line up perfectly. I would recommend using a proper 2k shell they can be found on aliex just make sure you choose from a seller with good reviews :)

Nothing will compare to OEM quality but this was OK. I would recommend reusing as many components as possible to maintain the structural integrity of the original unit. This one was a full shell colour change so almost everything was replaced. Once the hardware is all installed it feels strong and sturdy, definitely useable and will last but it’s more about the fit and finish, some of the parts took some force to get together unlike the genuine shell which is precision engineered these sometimes have casting flaws etc. There are so many different suppliers out there I would consider trying a couple different sources and seeing what parts are the best. I’ve had good success with Ostent but have yet to find a perfect OEM replacement. Most of the time for refurbish or repair I will reuse the entire Sony parts and just replace the faceplate as this is what gets scratched etc so the screen viewing can be improved but still maintain the build quality of the console overall. @@EverythingPSPOfficial Thanks for the quick and detailed reply! I have heard that generally clear or see trough shells are of much better quality compared to the painted shells, I wonder if it has to do with the plastic material or the fact that they aren't painted.

@@GenesHand Thats strange, ive heard the see trough shells are more brittle..

The springs are required for the umd door to function correctly, one holds the latch at the top and the other is for the hinge at the bottom. The PSP will run fine without them especially if you are using custom firmware with a memory card for your games you don’t need the umd drive at all and some people just use double sided tape or a tiny dot of glue to keep the door shut in those cases.

Most parts I get from AliExpress, I use OSTENT brand aftermarket materials, and also use parts from spare/donor PSPs if applicable

Not at all! If you start with a fully working PSP, you can get a shell replacement or even just new buttons for relatively cheap. It’s the labour that is intensive but actual parts cost is reasonable, check the pinned comment for a link to the shell I used in this video :)

Yo no los hago, pero necesitarías una impresora de corte de vinilo, puedes conseguirlos por un precio bastante económico, pero también necesitarás las dimensiones y el software para el diseño. El mío lo compré en aliexpress :)

Is it the right screw? Double check it’s not binding on anything, sometimes the aftermarket shells can be a bit out of line just keep tightening carefully you will encounter some resistance, just make sure you haven’t got something in the way!
